Do Thai citizens need a visa for Turkey?
tomazbodner replied to Negita43's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
They do not, Thai citizens can enter Turkey visa-free up to 30 days, no matter where they are arriving from. -
Usually intent is not to download data. As having data inside cable or USB charger won't be so easily accessible. Intent is to install a malware through known OS vulnerabilities to run in the background, which intercepts traffic to extract data, and send it to online repository, accessible to threat actor. Probably the simplest attack would be Man in the middle (rerouting all data to go through actor's servers to extract information) and replay attacks where actor could mimic legitimate connection to the bank that was just established, to basically be logged into the session without knowing any credentials. User could minimize possibility of this happening by requiring OTP for any account changes, or transaction of any amount to second phone - NOT the one that has bank app!, which would require both phones to be compromised (or hack an SMS gateway, which would be extremely difficult).

Google up Juice-jacking. Microchips can be hiding inside USB chargers at public locations, or inside USB cables. They act like a computer host, which triggers an auto installation of malware into the phone when connected to such cable or charger. It is therefore always advised you plug your own charger into a power socket rather than use USB socket, and to use your own charging cables. Also disable USB data mode by default and only enable them when connected to trusted computer manually.

Read the full linked article and last 2 paragraphs make it even a whole lot worse. You sign contract. You don't pay your obligations. The other party sues you and wins. You appeal, and claim the contract is illegal as you had no right to sign it anyway, therefore is void and you owe nothing. Amazing.

If immigration officer asked you what you were doing to make you so busy you could not come in the week before, what would you say (given your entry conditions)? You were touristing so hard you had no time to visit immigration? It's not like they aren't allowed to question illegal immigrants, as that's what you would be after midnight on Sunday night. As for CW - no, you can't as confirmed by an officer there.

Telecom Giants Unite as True Corp After Merger
tomazbodner replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They definitely were some years back. But in the last couple of years I've found them to be quite good. DTAC always had excellent support, so this may improve them further... Overall, compared to 10-20 years ago, seems all telecoms upped their game in support quality, as I doubt I've gotten more patient and forgiving in this time... -
Telecom Giants Unite as True Corp After Merger
tomazbodner replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Many people have more than 1 phone, and with different telecoms. So if I am subscriber to AIS and True, I should count as +1 in subscribers for both of them, although being only 1 person... Not sure how they count TV. I have their fiber+TrueVisions+mobile SIM as a one package. So I guess they'd count all 3 as one subscription. But the other phone number from them is a separate subscription, so they'd count me as 2 subscribers, I guess. -
Paying Tax on Overseas Investments

Meaning if I sell shares in NASDAQ and transfer the amount to my bank account, I don't need to declare anything? -
Paying Tax on Overseas Investments
tomazbodner replied to 2009's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
In same boat. Waiting to see if I get some answers. There's W-8BEN form that needs to be sent to your broker to confirm you're a foreign tax resident, else "your payments will be subject to additional backup withholding". Looking at my statements, there are definitely taxes deducted from dividends. In my case I don't need to pay dividend taxes directly, as they are handled by my broker (Merrill Lynch) and just show on statements as deductions. And no, as foreign tax resident, with that form on file, you are exempt from capital gains taxes in the US. The rest - waiting for answers. -
I get it from neighbour flight attendant that flies off to US nearly weekly. But I've bought from Lazada in the past. Same stuff, similar expiry dates. I usually get these gummies, as they taste good also: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/vitafusion-sleep-well-3mg-60-gummies-i3127363397-s11634214272.html

And then there's priviledge just above it.. Privilege is the correct spelling of the word that means a special advantage. Priviledge is an incorrect spelling of the word. Privilege is a word that is commonly misspelled because it sounds like there could possibly be a “d” before the “g” when people are speaking. https://oneminuteenglish.org/en/privilege-or-priviledge/ -

They should introduce this on land border crossings so people actually notice. -
"Need to stay 3 days in Malaysia" scam
tomazbodner replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Well that's the difference between Malaysia and Thailand. There are far better quality tourists that visit Malaysia than Thailand. I no longer need to go there for visas and such, but go instead for relaxation, and it's a much nicer and quieter place to be than most tourist places in Thailand. -
What long-term visas are still available now?

Looking for ready-to-cook pizza crusts
tomazbodner replied to Cutty Shark's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Villa carries Maison Jean Phillipe bakery stuff, including their pizza crust, which is excellent. https://www.facebook.com/MaisonJeanPhilippe/posts/from-today-we-have-a-few-new-items-in-the-freezer-section-of-villa-market-suk-33/2791627240963927/ This is googling it, but I've bought it from Villa Market near Emporium before. Previously Pinsa Pizzeria was offering them in Ramkhamhaeng but seems that place closed down. I had them from Pinsa as well, and they were amazing. But note that these can cost as much as a pizza from a pizza chain. Not rubbish like Foodland's or Macro's frozen section offering. -
