  1. <<<< Comments trolling about Trump edited out >>>> Anyway, maybe they should make him a nice chair, wired with the cables he stole, connected to that centrally controlled system and live stream what happens with power line thieves when it gets dark...
  2. I'm reading and re-reading the above and can't figure it out... Does it mean that you now need a work permit to be a tourist? How do you apply for a work permit to be a tourist?
  3. Did you get root canal treatment done and it's gone bad, or you didn't do it and it's just an infection?
  4. Or overheating battery which had no safety measures to cut off charging? Admittedly, this kind of fire happens with serial produced electric scooters as well for missing safety features around batteries.
  5. Or you might want to live next to school if your kids were attending, so you don't have to brace the traffic. That was my friend's excuse anyway ????

  7. A friend got a condo in that exact area. About 9 million baht for 2 bedrooms, an older building, considered cheap for the size. Only problem... he didn't realise there was 75 THB/m2 common fee and walls are paper thin including bedroom walls. You picked an expensive area to look for bargains...
  8. Yes, and it has to be same phone number as registered with the bank.
  9. Now unsure what "Travel card" means, so better delete my post until that's clarified.
  10. Or you could get Android dashboard for your car, something powerful (processor and RAM wise) and load Apple Music directly on it.
  11. A bit more flesh: Two passenger planes came into contact on a taxiway at Tokyo's Haneda Airport on Saturday. No injuries were reported. Transport ministry and airline officials say an aircraft operated by Taiwan's Eva Air, which was stationary on a taxiway, and a Thai Airways plane, which was passing behind it, made physical contact at around 11 a.m. The horizontal tail of the Eva Air jet and one wing of the Thai Airways plane were partly damaged. A total of 207 passengers and crew members were on the Eva Air aircraft, while the Thai Airways jet was carrying 264 people. Footage from an NHK camera shows the Thai jet coming to a halt after passing behind the Eva Air plane at around 11 a.m. https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/20230610_15/

  13. Well... the old man threatening to kill anyone touching his criminal son getting killed by his son who is then arrested, possibly getting death penalty would take 2 criminals off the streets. I would say this is good news.
  14. 63 years old driver's license practical exam in Argentina... I would guess she didn't pass...
  15. OP is from Canada, so equivalent of Thailand's air quality could now be "smelled" at his home turf as well, possibly illustrating the reasoning behind wearing pollution masks.
  16. Is this the SAME Pattaya, the one some 120 km or so south east of Bangkok or are we talking about some other Pattaya in some other Universe?
  17. If YOU are sick, you put on the mask to minimize risks of others getting infected with whatever bug you're exhaling. If you are in a place where people could have serious consequences when infected, you wear mask to minimize chances of them getting anything from you, like for example inside hospitals. When air quality outside is horrid like in Canada, you put on a good mask to prevent toxic particles ruining your lungs and giving you lung cancer over time. How hard is that to understand? Especially in country that caused entire northern Americas to choke in smoke for the past month+,

  19. Haven't been there in ages, but second hand phone shops were plenty in MBK and usually several in every mall in Bangkok. Fortune Town was also full of them. Fortune was also having lots of computer shops, with many selling second hand stuff. Seems Pantip has gone Dodo... there's some clothing market there now. No idea about second hand clothing. There's Pratunam (Platinum and the buildings and market across from it) that are selling lots of clothing as there is a market near Prince Palace hotel... can't remember what it's called, but it's wholesale market next to the khlong. Again, no idea if there's any second hand stuff there or only new. Else go to kaidee.com and check out what's for sale there.
  20. Well technically that's not a TV, so he's fine!
  21. Agree with the rest of your post, so I'll only respond to the part quoted above: It was not about overcharging some tourists. It was about the mafia culture of the taxi drivers on Phuket, resorting to intimidation and violence against anyone, including legal competition, to protect their turf. Blocking hotel entrances, blocking ports, blocking airport exits, forcefully removing passengers, beating up drivers and their vehicles. Attacking the public airport bus and beating up the driver. That is NOT NORMAL. And it should not be tolerated in a civilized society.
