  1. From linked article: The rehabilitation plan is being managed by former President and also former Energy Minister – Piyasavasti Amranand, Pornchai Thiravej, Kraisorn Baramee-Huaychai, Siri Jirapongphan and Chansin Treenuchagron. Surprised they let Piyasavasti anywhere near THAI. Last time he was president of it, that was the only time in ages airline was profitable, but then he cut all the benefits of freeloading VIPs so he was promptly removed. Must show desperation and guess that the moment TG is back in green, he'll be promptly replaced by someone who can sink it with VIP benefits again. You can't expect any "do you know who I am" to actually pay 1st class tickets for the whole family shopping trip to Europe, do you?
  2. Reported in some European media is that the prices of flights out of Russia have skyrocketed and all seats taken for several days, with price from Moscow to Dubai exceeding 300k Rubles, following the mobilisation announcement. For most Russians that's apparently half a year of salary. Most tickets bought are one way. I can attach link but it's not in English... Googled several articles in English, so putting Associated Press one in link below. Not 100% identical, but should do... https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-fleeing-mobilization-dbe01d0c9be45a8c479565501a2a8f32 Decided to leave this post anyway, although I now see a video a few posts up about the same thing...
  3. Honestly didn't recognise Honda HRV from the front photo of the car... Video confirms the high speed that driver was going at to cause such amount of damage after hitting pedestrian. While crossing was not at a zebra and the pedestrian has checked and let another car pass, the car driver should see him and brake... or even just honk to get him to stop on lane before, if he could not stop in time (due to speed he was going). So I'd say he was probably distracted, playing with phone or whatever but surely wasn't observing the road in front of him, while driving at high speed, likely a lot above speed limit. And last one - with the shape of vehicle after collision, he really didn't have any other option but to wait. It's not like he could just drive away, as definitely car couldn't even start, let alone drive.
  4. A policeman recommended this to a person looking for illegal activity? Whoa...
  5. That was for gentleman quoted in that post, who slammed "generals" for this fiasco..
  6. Don't know about CM, been there once in life for half a day... but in Phyathai 1 hospital in Bangkok, they would ask about what problems you are having, and if you tell them what kind of doctor you wish to talk to, they would send you directly to specialist. They also have a website with all doctors, where you can search for specific person and make appointment. Can't be that no hospital in CM would have at least part of that? If they really don't, take that 1 hour flight, airport link to Ratchaprarop station, and stroll that 200m to Phyathai 1 hospital.
  7. Totally forgot tar shampoo. It makes you smell like a steam locomotive but actually did work. Good advice.
  8. Or Win drivers, especially small coins, they seem to pay a lot for them, like 450 baht for 20 Euro Cents...
  9. Did they try Nizoral shampoo against itch? I also know several people who use Havilah shampoo to stop hair fall, and their tonic? serum? The one that has spray at the top... to reverse hair loss. It works better on Asians than Caucasians, apparently. Cheaper than doctor, try for a month and see if it helps. I think it's 890 baht for shampoo bottle on Lazada in their official store. 300 ml I think, but they also have 100 ml, which they often give as gift if you buy 3 large ones. Not much to lose, and least it's a herbal thing, so hopefully less damaging than medications.
  10. With global logistic problems and semiconductor shortages, they could be stuck with inability to get parts in timely manner. But that's not an excuse for not keeping you honest with the timelines on when they would receive parts and by when it could be fixed. Usually that's something that's cleared with customer before taking the product for service.
  11. You could get stock Android phone though. Google Pixel or a Xiaomi A series, which come with absolutely nothing beyond Google's stock OS loaded. If you're used to sleek user interfaces and lots of settings in camera app, etc... you might not be a fan.
  12. Death sentence can be turned into life imprisonment, which can be turned into 30 years, which can be turned to early release, etc. By stacking things up, you basically try to prevent this person going free. And even then they might.
  13. Check ratings and reviews... that's... some gold nuggets in there!
  14. Looking at pic at the top you'd wonder... what's all the fuss about for these few cm of water, but then you see it's been more than just a few cm and it's 8 days and not moving anywhere. Then again, I'm confident that situation at some other parts of the country is far worse but because it's not in or around Bangkok, gets far less coverage...
  15. True. I wasn't referring to all beggars, just some, for whom that is their "job", not the really desperate ones. Apologies if it sounded like I am throwing them all in the same basket.
  16. Actually that's in that 1 hour online training video for license renewal, but... it's just that. People watch or sleep, answer that 4 questions, and move on, never to actually use any of that later when driving. Was just at DLT yesterday and they kept repeating how you have to take care of others, that safety is priority, how you have to show kindness, etc. etc. etc. But... One thing is what they say in there, and people even agree with, and it's totally another when they sit behind the wheel of their car with their superiority complex of mowing down lower class peasants that aren't inside vehicles. It becomes ME ME ME MEEEEEEEEEE complex, and everyone else becomes irrelevant. Thailand really needs very stiff penalties ENFORCED to get anything changed. But what would people do if they were left with a hole in their wallet? Maybe same that was a plague after sports championships in the past at least - start robbing others. You are right, obviously, that the change of behaviour is needed. I just don't think that education alone would achieve anything in this country...
  17. I beg to differ. Now admittedly that was many years back, but I finished my work in wee hours and was walking home when I passed Pratunam intersection... There a Mercedes stopped... out the back seat came a beggar who I've seen every day (and remembered as she was aggressive), with at least one more in car, as it drove off... Another one I remember was beggar with a child ordering pizza delivery to overpass near Central Chidlom. Of course, everyone decides for him/herself how they manage funds and what their meals are, you just wonder how desperate person is to order a meal 10x the price of local food. I still support beggars I feel pity on, but no longer in touristy areas, and rather help those trying to make a living working, by generously tipping them. Like my cut fruit is 20 baht, give a 100 and don't take change, or tipping a small restaurant, Grab delivery guy or honest taxi driver. People trying hard to earn money doing something other than just sitting and waiting.
  18. At my old place, about 100m2 I was on top floor and basically had no ceiling (it was just that 1-2 cm fake ceiling board, some black sheet and roof tiles). Aircons were underpowered, and when on, compressors were running most of the time, and when turned off, the place heated up to external temperature within 15-20 minutes. Before all these power price hikes, my power bill was based on 5 THB/unit and was regularly 4000 baht up, reaching 7000-7500 in April/May hot period. If your place is badly insulated, if outside compressors are old, and with 8 baht/unit price, the it would be possible to get to that figure. Actually, if my electricity price was double (I'm in condo so paying EGAT rate, about half of yours), with aircon on most of the time, I'd get to about that amount as well, so I think the larger part of the issue is the 8 THB/unit cost. Then again, electricity price is rising every month and even the EGAT rate might reach that soon...
