She was in breach of labour laws for not cancelling work permit after leaving previous employer and stayed on. It states at the back of work permit when it needs to be returned, and from what I remember it said on the form for extension of stay in what amount of time the extension needs to be cancelled after work permit cancellation. If WP has been cancelled (actually when still having booklet, I would get it returned with punch holes at the back) then OP should not be in breach of labour laws (except if he kept working after cancellation), but in breach of immigration laws. It is however possible his WP never got cancelled. And that could bite him later. Either way, I'd get out of the country soon, and that should not be a problem for OP.

Labour department at Din Daeng in Bangkok, department of employment refused to accept any documents, and instructed her to go to police station about 300-400m away, opposite direction from Rama 9 road. Don't remember name of building but police station is on ground floor. There she had to pay fines, and get a receipt and a police report that all outstanding fines have been cleared. Back to labour department, officers were shocked how quickly that was cleared and proceeded with the process. She got work permit approved shortly after that.

If your passport still has stamp that says must leave before 15 Feb, you should be good at exit. Probably also OK in getting a new visa, but... When you apply for the next work permit, this will resurface. You are supposed to go and terminate your visa on the last day of work and the day work permit is cancelled. This isn't automatic. You can then apply for extension where you only get a week to pack up and leave, or apply for another extension based on a new work permit, if switching jobs. But as said, seems you have not cancelled extension of stay, you leave, probably no issues else you'd have another stamp in your passport cancelling that stamp, but when you apply for any extension or work permit in the future, they'll probably send you straight to police station to pay the fines before giving you anything. This happened to a Korean colleague of mine, though in her case she didn't cancel work permit, left country, no problem, entered country on tourist visa, no problem... got non-immigrant visa at Singapore, no problem... but... when she tried to apply for work permit to work at our company... they pulled out all her records, handed them to her, and pointed her to police station near labour department. All that said - she got the minimum fine of 2000 baht. Possibly also a result of how she dressed up and the old man salivating looking at her... Don't know what fine you could get. So get out of the country and get your affairs in order. Save up before applying for any extensions of stay as it could, and probably would resurface, if not earlier, then at the time you apply for work permit again.

Remember those... used to have camera that used one of those as well. And you're spot on. This was likely one of the weakest excuses that could be given. 3 separate storage devices, connected to 3 different cameras, all got damaged at the same time. If it's so bad, then maybe it's time to check if any of them is working, and if not, replace and sue the supplier. This may have been attempt to just quick format the drive and claim it's empty. Had only there not been any recovery tools to bring most/all data back...

Let me give an example, if same principle was done on house resale (as many foreigners buy and sell property here), and let's say the tax was 30% (it's seen as 5-35% in the post above)... You buy the house for 29.5 million baht. You're moving so you sell it at 30 million. You have made 500,000 baht profit. But instead of paying 150,000 baht in tax, you need to pay 10 million baht in tax on 500,000 baht capital gain. I don't doubt poster got that answer from PWC, but there must be something lost in translation somewhere as that makes no sense at all.

I still have a question here. If I buy stock at say 100k and then sell it at 110k, then transfer 110k (let's skip the fees for simplicity), then my gain was only 10k. How could I be taxed on 110k and not only 10k? How could I prove I've bought that for 100k maybe 10 or 20 years back? Dividends are taxed on Nasdaq anyway, so it's just about what happens if I sell the shares and transfer? I only have online access to broker, but stopped paper statements years back. I guess it does show gain/loss on the online page, but would they accept a paper printout of something that anyone with 10 min of time could fake in Photoshop and put arbitrary numbers in?

I just checked MX500 box and that 22 at the start of the barcode might not be the year of manufacturing as mine shows: But side of the box shows (c) 2020-2021... I don't know if this is correct but if this isn't it, I don't know how you could check. Maybe if you're buying from Legend, it might be worth to ask them. I bought from their shop in Lazada, but bought from their shop directly before as well, and their support is excellent.

I checked my P3 (alas 1TB) and I can see that on the side of the box it says (c) 2022 Micron, and on the bottom, there's a sticker with size and speed at the bottom, the number starts with 22 just under top barcode. I believe therefore my drive is from 2022. On the SSD stick I can't see anything to indicate manufacturing year.

You must congratulate Thai pollution control department for doing an excellent job in controlling the pollution. I mean, we haven't seen better air quality since they were formed! Or maybe this is competition... Thailand is currently 6th most toxic destination in the World. But with few tourists going to the 5 above it, we can comfortably say Thailand is World's most toxic tourism destination as of February 2, 2023: I would like to hear TAT's spin on this.
