Selling a House Privately
tomazbodner replied to 33 RPM's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
ddproperty and hipflat come to mind. That's where I was checking when buying a condo and they had many different types of properties for sale and rent. -
Did you use VPN? Logged in from different computers? Lazada will require verification when they believe that your account could be compromised. If using same computer for some days after that, and verifications are successful, it will stop asking. Same for payment if card is stored in system - if it's considered unusual hour for you to be shopping, it'll ask for OTP, and will continue asking several times before it stops if activity is no longer suspicious. At least that's been my experience with them.

That ticket that allows you to change date for 2000 baht fee is a flexible ticket. There are several types of tickets, though: - so called saver tickets, which are the cheapest, allow no changes, and are completely non-refundable - then you have flexible tickets, which usually allow changes of dates, but not destinations, and could or could not be refunded. There's several kinds of these, from cheaper and more restrictive to more expensive and fully open (meaning changing date with no fees, sometimes even route - there could be a difference in fare to pay still). Flexible tickets are valid for a year from date of issue (there is "not valid before" and "not valid after" date included on them). Most flexible tickets can be expensive.

You'll need to go back twice. There would probably be about 2 weeks between first time, making appointment, and going for actual renewal. On the day of appointment you'd go to same counter to confirm appointment, before sending you to 2nd floor, where you'll get the queue (might be possible to just skip the counter and go straight to 2nd floor - didn't try). There you'll get documents checked and a form checked that all information is correct. Sign, and go another floor up for physical check. There could be some waiting but once inside the room, it's 10 min to complete all, get all stamps and signatures and back to 2nd floor to wait your queue. The photo is taken there and license issued. In total it took about 45 minutes, if I remember correctly, from walking into building to walking out with license in hand. I was 20 min early for appointment but was accepted immediately, so it's not like you have to wait for the queue on appointment date. But on same date? Not terribly likely. There was a French accent foreigners arguing with the counter on ground floor that he needs license immediately as the old one expires the next day, and I was listening to that for about 15 minutes while waiting for my queue, but officer had no sympathy for him at all. He was still holding everyone else up and arguing by the time I've left. Others just took appointment 2 weeks later. PS: I went to Bang Chak first, as that's where I got my 2 year license issued, and after making appointment for 6 months later, I was told I should actually go to Chatuchak as my address is outside their area. Great they didn't accept me,... in retrospect. Hope this helps.

In person, ground floor, building 4, on the right side after walking in the front door. There are 2 counters for foreigners on the left. After checking documents and making sure all is in order, they'll give you a piece of paper for first available date, and ask you to put your name in there along with your passport or pink ID number, and phone number. That's your date and time of appointment. They are all for the morning only, it seems. At least a month back, the queue was about 2 weeks. You'll be given application form there, and fill it out in front of the counter while the officer is checking your documents. They'll then be stapled together and stamped. The rest of documents listed are already posted by someone else. There were a few in a queue at 1 pm when their lunch break was over, but there was nobody at 10 am, walked straight to counter. So I'd say 10 am was good, but even normally there were not many people. Yes, upon completion it states that it is valid 6 months. At least Thai version is. That's just answering 4 questions correctly from a multiple choice answers. No idea how the foreigner version looks like.

Any airliner flight sim enthusiasts? Real Level-D sims, not PC games
tomazbodner replied to Woof999's topic in Pattaya
At TG, A380 simulator, but can't book when pilots are training on it, obviously. A bit pricey but worth it. One of credit cards companies just offered 3k baht discount per booking. -
I mean given they are asking for people to invest millions of dollars to get long term visas, maybe 1999 baht per month is not going to fly. How about 199,999 baht per month? Please don't give Thai government ideas you all might regret later.

Thaksin: No Secret Deal With Thammanat On Party Hopping

Has Tony just awaken from the dead? After years of relative silence, he's in the news every day now... -
AFAIK, the border is closed for foreigners, no day passes issued (according to someone who lives in Mae Sai).

I don't have FB. Used to have it until about 10 years back. Now I receive SMS nearly daily with some code to login. Had I not had a dual factor authentication, that person/s would have logged in and started scamming others in my name. I know of people selling all kind of stuff with stolen accounts, then disappearing, and sending police to homes of those whose accounts were hacked. Security questions and OTP are there for a reason.

You could open taladrod.com and search... that's the second hand car sales site. Once you choose a car, it will show (near the bottom of the page) the price ranges of different variations and ages of that car model. If you can't read Thai, open the page with Google Chrome and right click into a blank space, then choose Translate to English (or click on translate icon in the website address field). Example for first car that was listed on New cars today... a Civic: See the price ranges at the bottom, medium price and price ranges (and offers in brackets below).

Was in BigC yesterday next to condo as it's the closest. Not going there particularly often, but never got asked for any kind of ID. Cashiers were always very nice, but I never used any kind of membership, nor would I bother to apply for one. Used The1 card at Central and Tops - nobody asked for anything there either. Didn't use that card for at least 5 years. Maybe there was a discount or promotion coupon you received and they needed to register it against your ID?

At least 20 people killed in mass shooting in Thailand: Police

Apparently after fleeing the scene of killings, he went home and killed his wife and kid, before shooting himself dead. -
Extension of stay is cancelled if you leave country without reentry permit. Don't really need to go to immigration unless you need an extension of a week to leave the country as you were "supposed to" cancel extension on the same day as your last day of work. I don't know anyone who had problems by leaving without reentry permit. WP is a little different, but will only bite you if you ever apply for a work permit in the future. When you do, they'll find in records old one wasn't cancelled. You'll be sent to police station, where minimum fine is 2000 baht, and you need to get their statement that you paid the fine, before employment department would entertain you again in issue of new work permit. To cancel work permit, download form from labour department (it's just a table with your name, work permit number, and day of cancellation). Go to labour department with 2 copies of it, along with copies of your WP booklet (or to BOI with just that 2 forms). They'll stamp both of them, keep one, return you the other, punch holes through the booklet and return it to you. All in all 5-10 minutes + waiting for queue.
