  1. I often stay in hotels that do, so some have it. Not sure if this hotel had kitchen in room, but the photo shows a hotel restaurant kitchen with the menu glued to the wall on the right.
  2. And the thief, recognizing himself on photo, admitted to stealing them ("compressors are just a few 100 baht"), give out his location ("don't you know I live just behind your house") and make death threats to the victim. I wonder how hard it will be for Pattaya police to crack this case. I mean... it's nearly unsolvable, right? All that you have is: - suspect's photo - suspect's confession - suspect's location - suspect's name - further evidence of crime Sherlock! Help here, please!
  3. And much better with a communist leader nationalizing his golf course for the benefit of the people?
  4. Pickups have very powerful engines, and aren't particularly stable on the roads. Add to that a heavy foot driver and it's not hard to see why pickups are involved in so many accidents.
  5. Mostly military land around there. I'd say Gold Orchid on Vibhavadi Rangsit road would be most decent hotel around the university but it's on the other side of a very busy road. Gold Orchid Hotel 375 Vibhavadi Rangsit Rd Samsen Nai, Phaya Thai Bangkok 10400 02 616 3000
  6. You obviously didn't check your pollution meter. Air yesterday afternoon and well into the night was terrible.
  7. I actually enjoyed ANA and flew with them to US on every occasion. Over both Haneda and Narita. Alas, this was pre-COVID. At that time I was truly disappointed when code-sharing meant that my ANA ended up being a filthy United plane. Unless they've changed something, I never had issue with their seats nor foods. But complaining that you are only offered Japanese food in Japan is a bit much, don't you think? While Bangkok to Tokyo flights were mostly B777, Tokyo to SFO/LAX were always B787 in my case. And they always had a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks available, whether they had any alcohol I don't know but I do know on United, any alcohol drinks were chargeable (bloke next to me paid for his beer). There are more than just Hermes shops in Haneda. Actually it feels like being in a shopping mall. I like Haneda for that. What I don't like them for is that on return, in that low floor corner where you wait for Bangkok flight, there's no Wifi signal. Other than that, I've always enjoyed that flight (and airport)... except of course that it was darn long flight and I was dead tired by the time I got home.
  8. Would be cheaper to rename into Mrs. Red. She already sort of looks right...
  9. I think that means expires October 2024?
  10. Grab is Singaporean. And makes a massive loss every month.
  11. By merging with Grab? https://www.forbes.com/sites/daniellekeetonolsen/2018/03/26/grab-officially-takes-control-of-ubers-southeast-asia-operations/?sh=405cd04b6c57

I'll say it looks awesome. The story is in large part recycled from part 1, though, which was a little disappointing. Literally knew what would happen before it did. And while I have FullHD and UHD versions of Bluray purchased for Avatar 1, this one isn't on my shopping list. But yes, worth to see in 3D... and prepare for the length of Titanic. IMAX should be your venue for visual masterpiece like this.
  14. He takes it with him, he gets pick-pocketed. He leaves it in hotel room safe, it gets broken into. He leaves it at hotel reception safe, he gets robbed. So maybe best he could do is just leave all money home in India and get you kind people pay for all his expenses in Thailand, I guess?
  15. Metal detectors and body scanners coming soon to a bus stop near you...
  16. She was found using fake stamps on her passport. She is facing charges of using fake stamps and fake documents and she is now on 89 days of overstay.
  17. Maybe worth mentioning - my box is the big Samsung box (TrueVisions HD Plus), like satellite or cable TrueVisions use for years... It is limited to Full HD. There is another box which combines with TrueID, so it's a combo of both (TrueVisions Hybrid Receiver). From what I understand, that box connects both coax cable and Ethernet or Wifi, so it's basically just 2 receivers in one box. It supports 4K. And then there's only TrueID box, which only uses Wifi/Ethernet but has only TrueID lineup of channels, not whole TrueVisions set. I believe it supports 4K. Only TrueID TV: TrueVisions HD Plus (which I am using): And Hybrid receiver:
  18. I have True fiber for TrueVisions and internet. There is only one fiber cable, which comes from outside to the Huawei all in one router. There is no external fiber modem, only this one box, which then has LAN, Wifi and TV out. The True set-top box is connected by the coaxial TV cable. I would need to dismantle the whole thing to take photos, so I'm stealing them off Google: This is the back of the router - there's telephone sockets for VDSL, then 4 LAN ports, and finally coaxial TV output. Fiber cable goes into a loop at the bottom: Hence you do not need to drag any fiber around your home for True. Instead, get high quality LAN cables (CAT5E/6/7/8) for internet, and standard coaxial cables to wherever you would have TV sets/set top boxes, and you'll be covered.
  19. If you leave country without re-entry permit, then your extension granted is terminated by that exit stamp. It may be a hassle to start all over. If you know when you're going, why not go to immigration office, and request a reentry permit, which is valid anyway only for the duration of the extension, which means best would be to just get it at the time your request extension of stay? It is a 15 minutes formality to get it, filling one form, adding photocopy of the passport with the new extension of stay stamp in it, and handing over actually less than at the airport, as there you have to pay service fees as well, although they fill up the forms and make copies for you (at least they used to). So do yourself a favour and go to immigration to get this done before trip.
  20. I was hoping they properly fixed it to address the smell issue, when already opening it, not just poured cement around it like the owner did before...
  21. After finding nothing, was the toilet repaired or left smashed up?
  22. But you say we have no future! ????
