My Alexa has been no problem for 5 years but now when I ask it to play a song , it plays for about 30 seconds then stops and says , " I am having trouble playing music from your library . I have re- installed it a couple of times but still the same . I also read on a search where others have had the same problem and no resolution . I called Amazon who said they would pass it to their technical section and get back to me but not yet . Anyone got knowledge on how to solve this ?

I just had a minor operation on my toe . Next day back to hospital (government hospital ) to have the dressing changed which took 5 minutes and I was charged 400 baht . Wife said Thai pay only 100 baht . ;kIt's not only hospitals where foreigners are charged more in Thailand ,it also includes national park entry fees , temple entry fees , most service / repair businesses etc etc .As you said , if making any purchase , keep out of the way and let the wife do the ordering . One exception are supermarkets .

Just one little drink a day may seriously affect your health
superal replied to Rimmer's topic in The Wellness Zone
1 drink a day can seriously affect your health ? So can wedding cake , even more so . Many centurions drink a large whisky every night . Unattractive women reaped the benefits from men who drink alcohol . 🍷🍺 -
Thanks , is their treatment pricey ?

I agree that China is at the forefront of using robotics , however there are still many tasks that are dependent on human labour , such as making clothes . There are no shortages of cheap labour in an over populated China where the Chinese labour laws are ignored . These working practices would not be tolerated in the Western world . Bordering on legal slavery because if you do not have an income you will starve . The cheap Chinese labour comes mostly from rural areas where incomes are low . They go to the big cities to earn a much higher wage but they are exploited by the companies . Link below https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdrylgvr77jo . Results are high profits for unashamed UK famous High Street retailers . Similar practices come out of Indian sweat shops . In Europe , workers are mostly protected and working laws are upheld . So there is not a level playing field . Big Western companies buyers do not consider the how the product was made , nor the plight of the worker , only the procurement with the lowest price and acceptable quality .

Almost impossible to compete with cheap labour from Asian countries . Trumps plan is to impose tariffs on many imports in order to keep manufacturing within the U.S.A. . Thus driving up local employment by creating a trade war . As you say , many Western countries are allowing immigration of unskilled workers , hoping to boost their economy . Does not work as the majority do not work and become dependent on government benefits . Regarding the UK , the country has been going down the pan for the last 15 years and is now accelerating on a slippery down-slope under the supervision of a pretend government . 1/ Scrap the zero carbon scheme which is estimated to cost 10 billion pounds a year , every year to 2050 . 2/ Scrap the foreign aid budget of 14 billion pounds every year and take care of your own people first . That's the 22 billion pound black hole sorted .

The scary thing is when considering this governments incompetence , the damage to the economy , cutting the w/f/p which is resulting in elderly deaths ( manslaughter ? ) , increasing employers N.I. C. which has resulted in fewer jobs , messing with our farmers etc etc , all this within 6 months of taking the reigns , imagine another 4.5 years . How much damage can they cause if allowed to see out their tenure ? They have to be replaced quickly but how can it be done ?

How many times a day do you pee and what it says about your health

He did not mention alcohol which has a lot of sugar . So I suppose if like me you enjoy a couple of beers in the evening , following the Keto diet will not help ? -
Thanks for your input . I have both wifi & Ethernet , with the problem still happening . However the buffering may not occur every day and never when I watch a Wizz movie . I have been told that a local bar has the same problem with buffering and uses 3BB and Wizz same as me . But speed tests are always good on the fire stick when buffering happens . However last Saturday a friend was in the bar watching footy and no buffering . He noticed that on the TV screen , top right corner it showed True TV . I was at home trying to watch the same footy with constant buffering on Sky or TNT (cannot remember ) My final suspicion is that maybe my 3BB basic mesh router could be the problem . It gets hot and often stops which means that I turn it off for 10 minutes or so and position a fan to keep it cool . But I turn the fan off at night and in the wee small hours , if I watch TV it often buffers on all channels . I am considering an Archer TP-Link cat 6e mesh router . BTW I have cleared the Wizz TV cache , not using a VPN . I liked Wizz TV and have 3 subscriptions ( 1 in the UK and 2 in Thailand ) .

Reform UK Surpasses Conservative Party Membership in Landmark Shift

I see where you are coming from but this Labour proposed act is going against pre-election promises . If you digest your link info I think you will agree that my quoted facts are accurate . Below a copy and paste of part of your link . Dozens of district councils could be abolished as a result – prompting some to claim it would deprive people of genuinely localised decision-making. It would require a series of deals nationwide emulating North Yorkshire, which now has a unitary authority after eight councils were merged together last year. This would mark a scale of reorganisation that goes beyond what Labour promised in its election manifesto, and amount to arguably the biggest shake-up of local government since the 1970s. Labour argues the overhaul will make local government simpler and produce savings by making the delivery of services more efficient. -

I think you have got that wrong . First , the 20 who resigned were being fired because they objected against the winter fuel payment . Second , local district & borough councils to be scrapped , thus centralizing power to the government and taking local decisions away . Therefore local councils will have no say in planning which will remove objections for new housing in any area of the English countryside . If this Starmer plan becomes law there will be massive demonstrations ahead . Starmer is a dead man walking . -

Today , twenty councillors have quit Labour in protest at the governments direction under Keir Starmer . There could be many to follow I believe . -
I am having similar issues using Wizz TV . Every channel buffers even in the small hours . Every check carried out . 300 Mbps download . Emailed them , asking if their servers were having problems but no reply . Gonna try a new IPTV company that states anti freezing technology

American on Dirt Bike Kills Thai Woman Crossing Road in Chiang Mai

I agree with all that you quote which will apply in most of the Western world but here in Asia a farang is not seen as an equal to locals unless there are plenty of funds available to fight your corner . Digressing now but I know of at least 3 farangs who met suspicious deaths . There were no post- mortem examinations / autopsies and the bodies were cremated the following day with the police involvement / inquiry at a low level . Some of the comments here are of ignorance and made without any form of evidence . -

Also the king . Do you believe that this Labour government will see out their tenure ? The UK economy is plummeting and will be in recession early in the new year . Interest rates will rise along with inflation . This Labour circus need replacing asap . The PM job is clearly beyond the talents of Starmer along with his Muppet cabinet . Do not underestimate the anger of the UK population . Who in their right mind would ever vote for Starmer and co again . 14 years in the planning of rescuing the economy and the NHS with proven costings ? At PMQT all they can come up with is the same old tripe of a 22 billion black hole and then chuck the same money at Millibrains carbon neutral crap . ETC ETC . Next on the cards will be surrendering our fishing rights and allowing EU labour to have free access to the UK employment market . No wonder money people and skilled professionals / tradesmen are leaving the UK in their thousands . To be replaced by low / unskilled economic immigrants who have little if any intention of integration but to stay within their own communities , as is the case that recent history shows . -

Can the country wait another 4 years for a GE , knowing the incompetence of this muppet government ? There has to be a way to stop the impending damage but with a Labour Commons majority of 174 , it would take a revolt by the Labour MPs . It has been suggested that constituents lobby their MP to raise a vote of no confidence . Either that or a national strike but that would probably exclude the wealthy train drivers . On the cards to take action are NHS workers . -

UK is a soft touch concerning immigration - both legal and illegal . Temporary working visas are being abused because the immigrant often disappears when the visa expires . Starmer scrapped the Rwanda scheme and is set to give asylum status to 60,000 in the new year . No actions being taken to stop the daily arrival of 400 plus illegals . When will it all end ? The situation is unsustainable , costing the tax payers billions of pounds per year for immigrants hotel accommodation and then comes the benefits to add on . Starmer Reeves and Raynor are happy to cut the paltry winter fuel payment to those pensioners not entitled to benefits which will result in many deaths of the elderly who are struggling on the equivalent of half of the national minimum wage . This action will result in manslaughter . Starmer is hell bent at attempting to build 1.5 million new houses , without concern for the English countryside . Most of these new homes will be to house immigrants , who will be at the front of the queue . The worm is turning with political reform as seen throughout Europe and the U.S.A. Orthodox political parties are calling them Far Right extremists . How wrong they are . Decent people have seen enough of the effects of uncontrolled immigration and the dilution of their countries identity . Labour robbed the pensioners and gave it to the already well paid train drivers . This Labour government still has 4 years plus to run which is concerning . Anyone got a crystal ball ? -

Huh ? Are you a relative of Stanley Unwin . -
I once followed an ambulance in Issan . It's lights were flashing etc . When it pulled into the hospital the driver got out and no patients were being carried . I watched him casually walk to a street food stall where he collected his food and sat down on a nearby bench to eat it . I cannot recall ever seeing a Thai ambulance that is travelling without its lights flashing . No wonder that some Thai drivers do not let them pass . Thai ambulance drivers seem to be drivers only and do not have medical skills , unlike UK ambulance crews .

For some reason my speed test is not constant / stable and having 500 Mbps contract gives me a lot more tolerance when the net is busy . As I said before I have 3 BB fibre but when connected in my bedroom using Ethernet connection via my T95 Android box , I cannot get decent speeds , normally at 70 Mbps at best and last night trying to watch the football on Sky Sports , it was non stop buffering . The Fire Stick also has buffering when watching popular channels , e.g. football and a speed test can show 390 Mbps , so I put it down to the IPTV servers that cannot cope . Switching to another non popular channel gives no buffering . Also someone on this forum suggested switching to a lesser known IPTV company because their servers are not in too much demand . I generally only use S/S when needing to connect to online banking in the UK

How many times a day do you pee and what it says about your health
superal replied to Rimmer's topic in The Wellness Zone
Most men will have a pee problem as they get older due to the enlarged prostate . There are several procedures that can alleviate or stop the problem . However some can interfere with your love life . Rezume and the Euro lift are 2 minor procedures that will not effect your love life but they are not cheap , even in Thailand . However , I read in a BBC medical journal that UK doctors recommend that men over the age of 50 years old should take a daily dose of Viagra , as this has the effect of easing the prostate size and thus makes for easier urination .In Thailand the generic form of Viagra is commonly available and goes by the name of Sideagra . It has the same content ( Sildenafil ) as Viagra at a much cheaper price . Myself and a few friends take it every evening which results in a much stronger stream . Plus it has the bonus of giving stronger erections . I normally buy 100 mg and cut them in half with a pill cutter . Sideagra is about 110 bat for 4 pills of 50 mg or 200 baht for 100 mg -
Thanks Sheryl . Yes that " extra clinic service charge " is the doctors overtime working . I was given an appointment for 4 00 pm because the daytime was too busy . I had no choice in the matter . However the 4 00 pm appointment was also very busy with probably another 40 patients given the same appointment time . BTW , I do not like the first come first served appointment system that seems to be the method used in all Thai hospitals including private hospitals . It means you can spend a couple of hours sat in crowded waiting rooms alongside people who may have infectious illnesses .
