  1. You seem well informed . Would you mind sharing with us , which make of olive oil do you use ?
  2. Many thanks . Are you a regular user of this brand ? Your opinion would be welcome .
  3. If only we could find authentic olive oil , avocado oil etc in Thailand and not the fake oil that adorns most super market shelves .
  4. If only I knew where to buy real olive oil and not the fake type .
  5. Let's face it , sometimes arriving 3 hours early is hardly enough . I always arrive early and wait for the check in desk to open , clear security and have a snack and a beer . Suvarnabhumi also often has the long queues at immigration to content with . Hope you have a good flight
  6. I agree . Have you ever arrived at Heathrow and faced massive queues at immigration . 3 years ago there was a report of 7 hours to get through Heathrow immigration .
  7. I suppose they are trying to catch the over stayers ? Immigration on arrival , yes but departures ? I don't recall other airports having departure immigration , do you ?
  8. You must be there at an off peak time ? Very quick but how was the security check ? I to have no problem with the Bangkok airports too . Accept that they did away with the smoking room .
  9. So you have a good reason for wheelchair us . I have a spinal problem and normally have a wheelchair but flying tiger did not mention a physical problem and there are sometimes able bodied people who blag it to get a wheelchair because they are too lazy . That sometimes results in there being a shortage of wheelchairs and in turn a long wait . No different than fit people parking in a disabled parking bay .
  10. Most of us are not able to afford business class but normally the economy class and that is where the problems are caused at Suvarnabhumi . Immigration queues are often long and not enough immigration officers . I ask myself this , would it be possible to have Thai immigration officers onboard the long haul flight to Bangkok , 11 hours or so , to carry out immigration checks which would then allow uninterrupted passage to the carousels or transport on arrival ? Did you know that there is a " Fast Track " system for both arrivals and departures in Suvarnabhumi . Basic walking through the fast track lane costs around $66 or with an electric buggy $140 . These prices are for travellers who want the visa on arrival . For local Thais it is $ 35 and $112 .
  11. Very few smoke rooms in airports now . The middle east still have I believe but not nice without ventilation . The smoke rooms at Suvarnabhumi were nearly always occupied by airport workers which may have been the reason to close them . Strange that airports sell tobacco products but do not allow them to be used .
  12. So the movieprep did the job eventually ?
  13. I am surprised its not working for you . Are you taking 1 sachet of A and 1 sachet of B and mixing them in 1 liter of warm water ? Drink 1 quarter of the 1 liter mix every 15 minutes . It normally works after 2 or 3 hours . You will have to repeat the same mixture drink on the morning of your colonoscopy . The colonoscopy will not be performed if the laxative has not worked , as told to me by my doctor . Also no eating anything once you have started to drink the movieprep . Good luck .
  14. Me too . Had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy 5 months ago in a UK NHS hospital both without sedation . The colonoscopy was not a problem , you just feel the probe inside your body but the gastroscopy was not good . Just a spray to the back of the mouth to give numbness but the probe had me heaving a few times . I would recommend sedation for the gastroscopy .The colonoscopy requires that you take laxatives one day prior to the procedure . My laxative was in the form of a powder that is mixed with warm water . Laxative name is Moviprep .I can warn you not to go out but stay near your toilet because you bowel movement is lots and sudden .
  15. I once sat next to 2 guys from London on an Eva Air flight , London to Bangkok . They were drinking the whole flight and walking up and down the aircraft . When we were about to land I asked them if they were capable of walking to immigration and they said no problem because we have a buggy booked and we have a false doctors note saying that I have sciatica . They passed me in their buggy with a " See you later mate " yell and chuckle . So as you say a note could be forged and fool the Thai authorities but if the medical note was shown in the UK with a formal letter showing the N.I. number and hospital number , then a check could be made prior to travel and stamped for other foreign airports to allow assistance . IMO wheelchairs should be booked at the time of booking a flight , a medical cert shown as previously mentioned , and not a free for all at airports.
  16. Thanks Rob . For someone to go to the extent of making a false medical cert , well I agree it would be difficult to stop . However many able body people make the decision , to ask for a wheelchair , at the last minute . As told to me by 2 middle age women who said they " blagged it "and got wheel chairs because too far to walk . There is no doubt that the wheelchair system is abused , as I have seen on many occasions .
  17. This is true . My skin below my bottom lip turns to a bright colour red after I have been down there . Takes 2 days to go back to normal . Playing away ? requires planning so as to return home with a natural face colour .
  18. Think you have got it right . In Thailand the zebra crossings are supposed to be where pedestrians cross the road . Not sure about the rest of the world but in the UK the traffic will stop for people on the zebra crossing but not in Thailand . Maybe cameras could help ? Where I live there are cameras that take your picture when passing through a red light . A letter arrives with the picture and a fine . When taken to the local police they say no problem and not pay . Also I often see cars and trucks double parked on zebra crossings . Ten years old children riding motor bikes . Thailand is almost a lawless country
  19. Thanks Bill and you have my sympathy . Not only ignorant people but ignorant airport staff who should be marshalling / supervising the day to day airport facilities . Good to hear you were taken care of by the check-in staff . I am only partially disabled and can manage to walk 50 yards but then have to stop when the pain kicks in . I think that wheelchairs should be issued to passengers who can show a valid medical letter , explaining their illness .
  20. I sometimes have to use a wheelchair because of a spinal problem . I have noticed recently that there are a lot of physically able people using wheelchairs because they are overweight and lazy . After arrival I watch them walking away with their luggage at speed . Genuine wheel chair users sometimes have to wait for the service because all chairs are in use . In this case the airline are at fault having received plenty of notice and that should be the time to advise the customer that they cannot let him fly , not at the gate . Amateurish business , poorly organized .
  21. “Thailand is poised to become the aviation hub of the region.” How about improving provincial air travel where at the moment , nearly all domestic flights must fly to Bangkok and then fly to their other Thai airport near their destination . Also a new international airport mid country would make sense , instead of only Bangkok .
