  1. Balconies should be 1m without a "step" up.

International Quality Tourist need Quality buildings and International Health & Safety.

(All new builds and Refurbishments can include this at minimum extra cost.)

    May she rest in peace.

Meanwhile Bangkok must be by far the world's #1 of people dying by falling from high floor balconies. Are the railings there too low perhaps? Or are they a convenient way to "get rid of people, without the BiB doing anything about it"?

" Are the railings there too low perhaps?"

An interesting question. Many Thai buildings seem to have kitchen and bathroom counters lower than westerners are used to. Normally they are about waist high. Thais are generally shorter than many farangs, I wonder if this is also the case with the balcony railings? It appears a larger proportion of farangs take a balcony dive than Thais.

Perhaps someone with experience in Thai construction standards can clarify.

  2. Women ARE the most selfish people on Earth - naturally!

From the minute they say Ok... they want your baby and provision

Sorry for the reality check But as long as live the [her] dream, I'm sure you will be fine

(And I'm OK, at the moment...)

WOW, what a lucky catch you must be, already have her divorced and taking half your assets before you're married.... It must be love, love, love. Try at least to pretend to be human and you may get some advice.

    Oz

  3. Another pointer for Thailand - quality resorts have the "sea front"  paved/pedestrianised...

I only visited pattaya once and yes the tour busses were going very fast - I actually thought they were late...

When people are on holiday, especially with kids, it's easy to stray into the road.

(Certain sections of that road don't have people access (Pavement/side walk))

  4. It was explained to me that a "Hi-so" lady was an ex prostitute, who had learned

all she knew from.... the Men on Top!

One could be forgiven for thinking that the "victim" of this story is one of Pornpimol's "ladies that lunch" set and this article is just a cynical abuse of reporting.

Ah, Pornpimol, aka "Pauline", CEO of the "Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation", ahem whistling.gif , if only we could take your proselytising seriously - difficult considering your past. Any trips to the US planned?

The story is written in anecdotal style, yet obviously is about someone Pornpimol knows. So on that basis, this story about a presumed hi-so with a problem should not have been written? That's assuming the subject is a lady that lunches, and not an average middle class woman with few resources whom Pornpimol has chosen to champion.

  5. And may we add that people are backing Britain for it's trustworthiness, Honour and minimal Curruption.

That's why Chinese and Russian invest Billions in 'safe' Britain

The London "Square Mile" creates more wealth than ANY other country in Europe

People are flocking to the UK for Free social services - attaracting more than any other EU country.

The "unemployment" rate includes those who "choose" not work beacause they are waiting for the "right" job,

they can't speak English AND have 0 employable skills...

    or they are Crims!

The Chinese woman did not come here to commit crime?? Then why the hell did she overstay??

I have long-known that humans are just another part of the animal kingdom, but, too often, the place that the species occupies in the general order of things can vary each day.

By 2030 the UK will be the largest economy in Europe

Where did you get this info?

    England are deporting illegals too.

Nothing annoys the end-of-lifers in Thailand more than the idea that the UK is booming and loads of us are making serious money.  Immigration causes economic booms - far from going down the plughole - the UK is ahead of the game and starting to soar.

  6. Why don't they start by making visas easier and straight forward/less time consuming -

with Rules that ALL must follow.

Why have 90 day reporting - who is this checking up on?

Why does the visa holder have to spend a day and the expense, gowing to the visa office.

It should be the responsibility of the employer - this will stop false submitting,
(Continuing to "pay" a worker, even though they left up to 89 days ago?)

  7. I think this happens in other countries.

A sort of yellow? grid for bikes only.

AND a bikes priority turning light - but maybe one step at a time.

"The deputy commissioner disclosed that he would prefer a road space being spared at traffic lights for motorcycles to stop in front of cars rather than being squeezed between rows of cars but that could not be made possible because it was against international regulation."

A strange comment as this is already present at nearly every intersection in Phuket. I seem to remember it when I visited other parts of Thailand too. Is it not nationwide?

  8. All incidents - including any fines must be videoed AND the "accused" must be allowed to video too.

Stop curruption by the poor ON the poor.

(Yes the main problem is middle and high level curruption)

Excellent idea! Additionally, give a phone number to John Q Public so we can all send photos of the folks driving their cars through red lights and blocking intersections. I actually had a woman roll down her window recently and tell me it was ok for her to break the law and block the intersection "because I'm driving a Mercedes!!!". Ugh.

Sent from my GT-I9082 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

  9. It is a World fact the curruption makes poor people poorer.

What I witness here is poor people trying to be currupt (Like their Masters)
but failing to get better jobs/promotion WITH Pay... or a better life.

From observations it's like playing "Candy Crush" - it feels like you are always winning, but you're not.

(But the Company is doing alright...)

Poor people gamble for the same reason.

Working hard too - only makes you tired (But at least you Can sleep at night and "pay the morgage")

Working the system, within the law, makes you rich.
Finding a New way in the system makes you  successful and rich - in money and personal terms.

Or be a poitician, with a perfect past (But you will aslo need to play the game...)

  10. You need to travel outside the box...

Osteoporosis is Rife amongst the poor who cannot afford ANY form of Calcium.

    (Including farmers)

I have travelled widely inside Europe/Scandnavia - raely do you see accute osteoporosis,

as you see in poor parts of ASIA (Don't believe the figures (No pun) in China

I have seen many many old women bent double...

Many vegitables contain minute traces of insecticide etc

I have been to commercial milking palours - there is a feeling of tranquility there!

Final point - don't eat/drink too much of anything - especially 2 ltrs of Milk!

  11. I had Tonsil problems when I was young.

I had an ear infection in my 30's - Never asked for an address or telephone number.

I had moved to the south and back again "trapped (Pinched) Nerve" - same thing... no problems

They may have confirmed my address verbally?

But they didn't ask to see my passport or "Utility bill"!

Same with solicitors - Not got devorced/bought a house for years and not been in trouble...

  12. I know a very good UK Officient - lived here many years. He is Very busy,
but could help you with a more Western (Lower cost) wedding?

AND a Good Philippine Band (Played at many Thai hote receptions...)
They are busy on High days and Holidays, so if available on your dates could be low cost...

I organise worldwide weddings with TravelMoons -
for anyone who needs travel and weddings on beautiful islands worldwide

My guess is at least 120-150k but if this continue for a few days the bill can get much higher.

  13. This guy should be honoured, not just with a pat on the back...

Local Mayor should point at him or something - Anything!

Teach this in schools "SHOP the Ba*****s"

Community Action: FREEPHONE (Toll Free) number on ALL transport

Report ANYTHING suspicious - Total Anonymity

(This idea maybe flawed, but better than other comments "3 blind mice...")

well done the motorbike driver, many would have just ignored it
