  1. How would you guys even give Lazada or Shopee your bank account details? There is no way to pay by direct debit like in some western countries as far as I know. Are you guys confusing it with paying via card? Lazada/Shopee do not get your bank account details.
  2. While I think the death penalty is too harsh and there are many reports of the evidence being maybe not very strong there's also the below which is not mentioned by many of the news articles. The linked article for example leaves this background info completely out. To me it seems he had some serious issues if being incarcerated for years multiple times doesn't make him change his ways. It's not like he didn't have his chances. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tangaraju_Suppiah
  3. It's not where the agents bank account is but where he has an existing relationship with someone in the bank to push the process. If it's somewhere where he doesn't have a contact then he probably has to go through another agent in his network which will take a cut as both will want to get paid and that cost will be handed through to the client.
  4. I'm sure it could be fun (nearly every bike is fun there hehe) but probably not so much in the hairpins. I think the slow corner exits would be a bit of a downer and why people prefer torquey bikes. With speeding fines increasing and being quite hefty nowerdays, a lot of folk have switched to prefering torque over top end. A bike like the ZX-4R could help bring back the feeling of street racing while not going jail speeds but it's a niche. After I rode a MT09 for the first time I told the guy they need to market it as a unicycle ???? The saying about slow bikes fast vs fast bikes slow is true. But I think there's also this: torquey bikes that maybe don't have the highest power. So you can still wring them out in the first several gears without going crazy fast but the catapult-like acceleration is tons of fun.
  5. TLDR: OP wants to do funny business via agent to skirt immigration rules and wonders why funny requirements come up.
  6. The same out of line as mainland China interfering in Taiwan? It's amazing how most people simply don't care what the people of Taiwan want. It's just what China wants, what the US wants what XYZ wants. How about we all leave them be in peace?
  7. There is more than panels to make use of solar energy. Mounting, inverters, cabling, installation labor etc. And then there is the fact that aircons and pumps running at night wont be offset much because solar wont be generating any electricity. No way can the break even point be in 2 years.
  8. The opposite is true. It would accelerate the invasion. A lot of countries depend on Taiwan for leading edge chip manufacturing and that's a big reason they are trying to prevent China from invading. Remove that and Taiwan loses a lot of defense. China wanted to control Taiwan long before the chip manufacturing there was even a thing. For historical but also current geopolitical reasons (sea blockades). Of course Taiwan would never be so crazy as to give away a major part of their economy.
  9. Are you seriously suggesting someone etched a buddhist swastika onto a disabled jewish boys back in the US? While nazis are well known for their hate towards jews as well as disabled people? And that after saying it doesn't look like a swastika? Take a break and reflect.
  10. You can clearly see the readings of the previous months which have been settled already so nothing was missed. I have not seen an incorrect meter reading so far for big consumers. These bigger consumer meters are completely digital and newer meters can be even hooked directly to PEA for near real time stats, it's not a human reading a spinning cycle meter like those old ones for small houses. My best guess is higher occupancy + hotter weather. There's also the possibility of some equipment like a pump or chiller being not operated correctly or somehow malfunctioning.
  11. IBAN contains the account number. Usually IBAN is what you want because that plus BIC are enough to do EUR transfers in most cases. If you really want the account number click on the little "?" icon next to it and it will show you the part that's the account number itself.
  12. But the price didn't change. So how can it be the fault of PEA? My power bill also spiked but I can clearly see that a lot more units were consumed due to the high heat. The "journalist" nor the resort owner clearly didn't bother to check consumption. They instead put a misleading "despite electricity and air-conditioner usage being the same as before". Well no, no it's not the same as before. Let's take a look at her actual bill. The first column is the month, the second is the units consumed and the third is the total price. So, her resorts electricity consumption went from about 70k units to 128k units. That is a 80% increase in consumption. Her total cost went up about 75%.
  13. EGAT don't buy at 9 baht per kWh flat. The price varies with 9 baht probably being the peak in small quantities or whatever. Then they mix it with their own generated power. I also highly doubt the 70% "from a private company" number. That's probably a misunderstanding and the reality is "from private companies", plural. I've been to many solar, hydro and wind power projects in Thailand from north to south and it was a good mix of companies behind them.
  14. Wholesale prices for panels are way way lower than what you see in retail. Assume very roughly 20 Baht per Watt all in (panels, mounting, inverters, labor and so on). Batteries don't make commercial sense at this point in time. They are only used for mission critical setups.
  15. I think 1MW should be able to reduce the bill significantly, if you go bigger than that different regulations and requirements apply. To get 1MW with 550W panels which are each roughly 2sqm in size plus overhead let's say 3sqm you'll need in the order of 5500sqm or nearly 3.5 rai. With resorts you run into special problems. You usually don't have one huge roof like with factories or warehouses. You have multiple smaller ones, usually not flat (and so not all sides easily utilized) and you have to run a looooot of cabling meaning big losses. What makes matters worse is that you can't just go and install it whenever you want because it involves noise which occupants wouldn't be happy about. And then there is the aesthetic aspect. You can't block the view of a building that sits behind the one in front etc. I've been involved in feasabilities for big resorts in Thailand and there are quite a few challenges. It can be worth it but it's tricky and unfortunately for many resorts not something they want.
  16. If you opened a balance with them (you can use Wise without opening a balance just for sending money from outside) then on the home dashboard click on that currency and then there will be a "Your ABC account details", click that.
  17. It's actually 188 wet. I checked the US site which says 414.5 lb curb weight which is 188kg. I also wasn't sure when I read "net" but I guess it makes sense - 'net' is the amount with everything included (e.g. price including tax and service charge). So 188kg wet is actually pretty good for a watercooled four cylinder street legal bike and really not far off from your NC30. Edit: it was actually the ZX4-RR not ZX4-R that I saw on the US site but I think the point still stands.
  18. Fair point. There definitely is a risk of governments banning it though at this point probably not very high anymore. In the US the government has moved to regulate it. In Thailand we've seen support from the government to establish a regulated cryptocurrency trading market. Anyways even without a possibility of the government banning it I'd never suggest to spend all one has into a risky investment like that. Most people are better off with a S&P500 dollar averaged strategy over a long timeframe or something similar safe and less volatile.
  19. Yea one of my favorite places to ride. Below my weapon of choice for spirited day out in the Alps. Would this Kawa 400 provide me with as much fun? I dunno. I have not noticed many small cubic four pots there.
  20. The great thing about motorcycles is the huge variety. You get comfy ones that putter along and can carry you 1000km+ day rides. Then you have these crazy powerful racing machines that will push you to your limits before they reach theirs. Then you have these super torquey naked bikes that like to pop a wheely at every corner exit. And of course the little racers that rev to the moon like these Kawas. And each are totally different in terms of riding experience but they all provide good fun in their own way. That's why I love'em. Would love to try one but Kawa Phuket said no test rides available.
  21. It's the adult version of putting cards between spokes of a bycicle in order to feel like you're going fast on a powerful machine while actually not really. Sorry guys! ????
  22. That some people are shilling an asset does not make the asset a Ponzi scheme. If some people run a Ponzi scheme using gold then gold itself is not a Ponzi scheme. It's the scheme that these people run. Most Ponzi schemes use for example USD. Is USD now a Ponzi scheme? Obviously not. By your second definition of a Ponzi (the same definition Dan O uses), Rolex watches are a Ponzi scheme as well. The value of limited edition models only goes up because a new investor pays more for it than you did. And he invests in it because he thinks he can get more from a future buyer. Therefor future investors pay earlier investors gains. There is no economic activity by the Rolex while an investor sits on it. Is Rolex running a Ponzi scheme? Nope. In order for something to be classified as a Ponzi scheme, *all* criterias have to be met. Just fulfilling a main one is not enough.
  23. Of course it is theft. You normally give them your ID or license to copy, sign some papers for insurance and it usually stipulates that you have the bike for an hour or so. The dealer just claims theft with insurance and insurance goes via police after the thief. It's equivalent to a very sort term rental.
  24. I don't think you are trying to sell it to me unless I missed something ????
