I retired from full time work over 25 years ago. Did a bit of part time for another 6 years (60 days/year). Done nothing at all for the past 18 years.

I don't know about other pensioners, but I'm paying around 2,000 pounds a year to HMRC.

Seems like a lot of effort, normally you pay teacher and they just do the test for you. Teacher destroys your test, then slips in the one teacher did with your name on it.

All my SIMs are in my wifes name, when I went to my bank to change the number to a SIM in my name they wanted a certificate and said it would take 7 days to process. So still using the SIM in my wifes name, and BKB said all OK now. Looks to me like the usual Thai bank foulups, where all the staff insist on different requirements. REALLY what the lazy Thai bank staff in BKB wanted me to do, was get another branch to deal with it. TMB (now TTB) didn't care about phone numbers at all, but did insist on verifying my email on the app by typing in a code from an email they sent me. The bank have no idea about the name holder of the SIM. They want you to go to your SIM provider, pay for a certificate stating the SIM owner, an then taking the certificate to the bank.

I also like air con and a swimming pool, if there's no clean beach within walking distance. Don't think I've ever needed to pay more than 1,000bht to achieve that in SEA.

I'm arguing against smallpox vaccine, which they tried to give me in 1969 when there were no smallpox cases in the UK. I'm arguing against MMR vaccine, which is 3 vaccines given at once, for 3 trivial diseases which caused no harm in healthy children. I'm arguing against flu vaccine which doesn't stop anyone getting flu. I'm arguing against COVID vaccine which just doesn't work. There is no polio currently in the civilised world, so no need to vaccinated against it there. If you believe vaccines work, you are free to have as many as you want, as often as you want. But I'm saying no, my body, my choice. And I'm only arguing for ME, you want to harm yourself or your kids, have at it. Rabies, don't know, I've never been bitten by a rabid dog. Yep, Vietnam, Cambodia and The Philippines are much better destinations that western tourists. But my life is in Thailand and I'm happy here, but when I go on holiday it's to those places I mentioned. Hospitals make money from treating me I doubt they consider me turning up as wasting their time. I'd imagine their thinking would be more like, that's a nice profit!
