  1. CRS ....... how do they know who you are? UK has no national ID number, bank doesn't have your passport number or NI number. So how do they connect Joe Bloggs in Jersey with Joe Bloggs living in Bangkok? (there are around 5,000 UK citizens named Joe Bloggs)
  2. No need to turn up early, wed or thurs afternoons (with no days off in the week) are very quiet at the moment. Turn up at 12:45 in the afternoon, fill out your forms, and there'll only be one or two others there at the paper checkers. Did mine (Thai family) 10 days back, was out by 2pm.
  3. Immigration ask to see a marriage cert, your kids birth cert, and photos taken around your home. If it's proof enough of a legit relationship to them, it's good enough for me. Did mine last week, so I'm good for another year now.
  4. Sadly you've missed the point, we're talking about sexpats not sex tourists. And your 'backpackers building a business with local women' are sexpats if they're banging the local woman.
  5. While we're at it ......... The numbers of posters slamming pensioners who live in Pattaya, small rooms and spending all their time in bars ...... why? Seems like a decent retirement to me!
  6. Definition of sexpat = foreigner resident having sex with a local. Occupation (past or present) of local irrelevant to definition. Number (or sex) of locals foreigner has sex with irrelevant to definition. So a tourist visiting Pattaya, would be a sex tourist, and not a sexpat. While a foreign resident married to a local schoolteacher would be a sexpat.
  7. Bought a bluetooth keyboard and mouse last week for 92bht. Only the BT mouse arrived, refunded within 24hrs, kept the mouse.
  8. Charging my EV from solar panels this very minute. Takes about 2hrs for a 25Km charge.
  9. You're never the one and only, unless living in a strict Muslim country.
  10. But Thailands official 2nd language is English, and everyone in Thailand gets 8 years of English lessons. In England our second language would be French (or Arabic), nobody learns Thai.
  11. I thought conchie was person born in Florida or a conscientious objector.
  12. To a Thai serious communication = confrontation, the result usually instant and violent. Thai way is to agree to anything/everything but never get around to doing.
  13. I'm here for the cycling weather, most of the year I can do 25km every morning.
  14. I've just started eating at La Casita and agree it's good. I like the soft shell chicken taco and the pork chorizo taco.
  15. As an old white guy, I would vote for someone how I thought would promote my self interest. Sadly, leaving only Trump as my choice.
  16. Mine tells me I'm the best father she ever had! Very good value for money compared with my former Brit wife.
  17. I can understand if you're poor, and have limited income, you may not wish to share. But I have plenty and might as well spend it before I'm dead.
  18. I did that, but gave away rather than sell. What's wrong or sad with doing that?
  19. I used to smoke there all the time, my hotel even provided a sala by the pool to smoke weed. There were bags of weed on every tourists table. I was told do it on private grounds and you won't have a problem.
  20. I like to drink Pepsi!
  21. All the philosophers were drunks .........
  22. Which raises the thought ......... Should someone that believes in invisible friends be allowed to hold any government office?
  23. All nonsense IMHO. I'm not sure any woman loves any man in a relationship lasting longer than around 2 years. They might stick around but the sex will be gone. Don't think I've encountered any women worldwide that contribute much financially either, she spends her income on herself, the man pays for everything else. After 15 years here, I've not lost anything to my misses that I wouldn't have spent on rent and hookers. As an old white guy in the UK I was already considering my self a second class citizen, so no change. Never had any problems with her family, but then I make no effort to mix with them.
  24. Compulsory 'free school' ends at age 15, when my daughter reached that age at her government school 80% of her year were chucked out as 'not worthwhile' or 'couldn't afford to pay'. This was in 2015.
