Warning Signs: The Looming Collapse of a Critical Ocean System
BritManToo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
CO2 in the Cambrian period was 4000ppm, that was the time when most diversity of life first appeared (Cambrian explosion) on earth. The average temp at that time was 22c (vs 14c now). So it looks like higher Co2 and higher temperature was better for life back then. -
I don't think any woman would be with me if I didn't pay them. The difference between UK and TH, I couldn't afford a small one in the UK, only cows.

Farang groceries delivery in Chiang Mai (or lack thereof).

Ordered yesterday morning, delivered yesterday afternoon! Greens get top marks for delivery. -
We were sitting in the newsroom late one evening, and we found a breast implant on the science correspondents desk. Being the fun loving guys we are, we started chucking it across the newsroom at each other. When I caught it, the thing completely burst, the impact was less than walking into a door, or a seat belt in a minor accident. You'd have to be bonkers to have that put inside you!

Warning Signs: The Looming Collapse of a Critical Ocean System

As land prices rise, people take more risks where they build, and expect insurance to cover any loss. When land was cheap and plentiful, people built in safer areas, and at their own risk of loss. -

Because it's an average, and deviation from the mean of 3c is entirely normal. -

Video comments about poisoning in Laos. Video about drunk teens in Thailand. But nice of the police to wheel them home, wonder if the policeman would have been so helpful if it was elderly foreign guys, and not nearly naked teen white girls. Thought drinking under the age of 20 was illegal, and the bar would lose it's license. Good job the video wasn't taken in Manchester, else the guy with the camera would be risking a SWAT team bashing in his front door.- 66 replies

The Oracle of measuring blood pressure.
BritManToo replied to swissie's topic in Health and Medicine
Nearly 70, my BP is normally 95/65 or lower. The nurse tells me to do 2 laps of the waiting room then come back to try for a more sensible reading. -
Yeah, used them all the time, but they just direct you to the booking agent with the best price. You don't book with Skyscanner.

UK Pensioners in Thailand Face New Scrutiny Over Pension Fraud
BritManToo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
While searching through some links (that were subsequently removed) I did find something worthy of note ...... Credit to @Will B Good for finding this, https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/benefit-overpayment-recovery-staff-guide/benefit-overpayment-recovery-guide#appendix-1 "Fraud by the claimant 1.6. The claimant deliberately misrepresents their circumstances or fails to disclose material facts in order to obtain benefit to which they are not entitled. DWP only classifies an overpayment as fraud where there is either admission by the claimant after “caution”, upon conviction in court or acceptance of an Administrative Penalty" According to appendix 1 DWP says no fraud on ANY overpayment of benefit unless you admit it (after caution), or a court finds you guilty. Interesting find as it directly contradicts statements posted by @transam And backs up my opinion to always deny and admit nothing. -

None of my nonsense is based on hatred/envy/jealousy towards other foreigners though. I do it for everyone's entertainment!
