  1. Follow up on my original post. The wife went to the local Kasikorn to increase her limits as they were made the same as for foreigners, supposedly because all of the funds were transferred from o/s. Took about an hour of the assistant managers time who put the app on my wife's phone but still had to talk to the call centre to explain what was wanted. Signed copies of ID, bank book etc and were told it would take 3 days to approve, and then only for 1 month. Yesterday she received an SMS saying that the request had been denied with no explanation. Back to the bank today to the same a/m who again phoned the call centre. The reason given for the refusal was that she "did not fit the criteria" with no explanation of what the criteria are. The a/m had no idea either. So if anyone that has ben able to raise their limits it would be helpful if they know what the criteria are.
  2. As a past long term surf club member you just cannot stand by or turn your back if someone is in difficulties. You also do not want to put yourself in danger by having to rescue them so you try to stop them. In reality we had no legal right to stop anyone entering the water even if dangerous, the same probably applies here too.
  3. As bbk says probably an old one that has been at the bottom of their storage for a year or two. Had it happen to me at my regular shop.
  4. Good idea, but if they are using the phone over 2 hours they were already mental cases so cannot blame the phone.
  5. Yes, Australia Post has done the same. They do not want to be left paying the tariff or the cost of returning the items.
  6. Well, we have a pack of 10 roaming around here at the moment. If they were not fed by a Good Samaritan they would have died of natural causes by now. No I do not agree with poisoning them like above but they a a problem that needs to be dealt with.
  7. Cannot imagine walking around in the bush with those on.
  8. Sorry mate you missed the point of my post. University hospitals will give you an itemised account of their charges and they apply to most visits. If you think 2000 baht is too much for a 30 minute test I suggest you go to a government hospital where you will wait in a queue for 1 hour to get registered and than wait another 3-4 hours to get tested and get the results.
  9. You have a problem? Or did you post on AN instead of Facebook by mistake.
  10. Do not know if it is the tariffs but the AUD has gone down a rabbit hole again.
  11. Count me in as never going to America. Can you imagine going to a country full of Mike Hunts, an unsubtle persona name.
  12. Only AN people that read your posts.
  13. Thanks for the backup. With the emoji system these days no one knows who supports them.
  14. You are right, but come 1 October you will be wrong. You have 6 weeks left of being right, enjoy it.
  15. If they do that it is only a matter of time before KBank and Krungsri do it too. These two allow it for "business" accounts, do Bangkok Bank have it for business accounts as well. Krungsri are doing something similar but have allowed me to change from Krungsri online to Krungsri Biz online.
  16. It is really a case of the banks and debit/credit card suppliers just protecting themselves. Have just read the new KBank terms and conditions. The banks are like the angels in heaven and can do no wrong. All responsibility is placed on the customer if there is a loss. Their rules probably would not hold up in a western court but TIT.
  17. It does not say that applies to the over 65s. What is the definition of positive financial histories. Keep clutching at straws.
  18. You missed the whole point. It is compulsory for the banks to limit the amount for over 65 years. We do not get a choice.
  19. Check again the BOT directions that came out today or yesterday.
  20. You mean that you agree with the latest BOT directions that anyone over 65 are idiots who will not use them properly. Hope you are not that old.
  21. You missed the fraud bit. All of these people are losing money through their apps. No apps, no money lost. Can you do an AI search for me to tell me all of the people loosing money through the websites.
  22. And they want people to use the mobile apps when they know that they are not safe from fraud and hacking.
  23. That is good. It has happened to me in the home country but fortunately they told me they were going to do it, so I transferred the money to another bank. Still not a pleasant experience when you have had the account for ten years. How about the first question of the trouble of opening a new account at your local branch. For me they just did not want to do it.
