  1. MYAirline from Malaysia is also considering offering international flights to Bangkok’s airports, as well as services to other popular Thai destinations like Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Samui. I presume that this has been cleared with Bangkok Airways who have a monopoly on Koh Samui Airport?
  2. Sounds like typical Thai "anti-logic"! It is the people who can easily pay the 2 or 3 million that are more likely to be the criminals!
  3. "..................this incident severely tarnishes Pattaya's image as a tourist destination." For the first time the quote "severely tarnishes" is 100% appropriate, rather than arresting "streakers" with the same reasoning. How about rephrasing that as:- "this incident severely tarnishes Pattaya's image as a safe, crime free, family friendly tourist destination"
  4. What's that got to do with Motorcycle gangs or criminals? And I presume by "pension permit law" you mean extension of Visa? And why should he be making it more difficult for law abiding citizens to settle here and spend their money?
  5. Visa waiver fee for Chinese and Indian tourists, but everybody else may have to pay 300 baht tourist tax (I read fairly recently) Does that come under the banner of "Racism" or "Discrimination" or both?
  6. Personally, I think that there is no way that Thaksin will return to Thailand to spend any time at all in a jail cell. He will either get a King's Pardon, or he will stay put, and organise the Pheu Thai Party from the sidelines.
  7. Because TIT! Seriously, the warehouse was possibly built before it was a fireworks factory, and merely "converted". There does seem to be a lack of planning permission here, though. A mate of mine bought a plot of land in a prime location with a lovely view, peaceful and quiet, but within easy reach of "town", and a couple of months after he moved in, they built a Shooting Range next door!
  8. And your evidence for this, Sherlock? Or just a bit of early morning Brit Bashing to get you going?
  9. How do you know he's not German? Pal of yours is he?
  10. Here we go - have a bit of a Brit Bash when the nationality is unclear.
  11. "....the captive audience of law enforcement officers was successful in convincing the man to accompany them to the Pattaya Police Station." Doesn't look like he had much choice, being handcuffed and arms forced halfway up his back, I would say that HE was the captive!
  12. That's because its an English speaking website primarily concerned with Thai affairs (It used to be called ThaiVisa!) And you've obviously read the headline? :- "Thailand Hikes Entrance Fees for Foreign Visitors at Historical Attractions."
  13. At an opportune moment in time!
  14. Should these laws not be enforced all year round anyway? Oh, sorry, would that not mean people doing their jobs all year round - the ones they get paid to do?
  15. I think that Putin knows that a lot of everyday Russians just want to rest and not fight, so nobody needs to tell him!
  16. I have been saying this for years - TAT are notorious for painting a rosy picture with mind blowing statistics, and a barrel load of excuses why their predictions didn't happen. ("More tricks than a circus dawg"!) One of the best ones I saw was them trying to explain where all the supposed tourists were to business people in the tourist areas by saying "They're all in the North of the country exploring the "real" Thailand!!! ????
  17. l trust TAT's statistics as much as I would trust this man's!
  18. A couple of years ago, a Pit Bull in Thailand killed its owner, and they took it to the temple to apologise to the corpse!!! I kid you not:- "An unexpected guest was seen yesterday at the Bang Lamung, Pattaya funeral of the victim of a pit bull attack. Giant, the guilty dog, was brought to apologise by his new owner." (T*****r April 2 2021)"Yesterday Suksa Ketnak, Giant’s new owner, brought the pit bull to Wisit’s funeral to pay respects and apologise. Giant was restrained with a protective muzzle to keep everyone safe. Following with Buddhist tradition, Suksa and Giant came to pray and ‘apologise’ to Wisit’s spirit for the pit bull’s attack and ask for forgiveness. TIT!!!
