  1. At the Pattaya/Banglamung office the online video training is mandatory now..no choice of watching the video at the office ( at least for us "dirty foreigners" ) I must say that the experience there was much better this time than 6 years ago when it was very crowded and hectic mayhem in every department...they now have tents for people to wait outside not crowding the building and so its much more relaxed inside...no more need for the megaphone which rests quietly on the shelf all conversations at normal levels... beware that to pay the licence fee they only take the good ole cash money none of that new fangled "scan" stuff 👍 For my medical certificate I made the "mistake" of going to "Wat Yarn" hospital where it was a bit of a long drawn out process involving having blood pressure taken at the auto machine x 2 as mine was high due to white coat syndrome a lunch break and then actually seeing a doctor who asked numerous questions and for the physical check he asked me to roll up my trouser leg which he looked at from where he sat about half a meter away I joked with him that the leg was very white and he agreed signed the papers I then had more waiting for a nurse to put the "Official" stamp of approval on the certificate and that was half a day wasted..next time go to the early evening clinic and not an actual hospital !! My wait was 12 days.. It will of course vary but they only process 100 foreigner drivers licences per day according to the sign at the affice.
  2. "They" have installed fiber optic cables to every room/apartment in your condo ? probably not hence the need to pay for the installation, 300 meters might not be from entry point into the condo it may be from some server cabinet a few kilometers away (unlikely in a very built up area but possible) The most important point is to have the fiber optic cable and Modem/ONT installed directly to your room and not in the condo "server room" from which they most likely only have coax or "worse" twisted pair phone lines installed to every room. This is one of the problems at many condo buildings where the "management" company can be very difficult or stubborn on certain issues insisting that only their "authorised" contractors can carry out work in the building and is why I suggested looking at the cellular 5G option. Anyway enough waffle from me what do I know ?
  3. I recently went to the DLT and made an appointment didn't even try to find an online booking site...what does work is the online training video site. https://www.dlt-elearning.com/forignerhome
  4. They make the money on the "finance deal" very often ends up being 2x the price than if someone had turned up and paid in cash.
  5. No just a normal web browser perhaps your needs updating or try another one I'm using firefox 128.3.1esr (64-bit)
  6. Which land Transport Office (DLT) did you go to ? and Which country is your drivers license from ?
  7. Yes installation up-to a "certain length" is normally "free". I'm sorry I'm not answering your questions as you would like them answered but this is Thailand (T.I.T) there are many occasions where paying a bit of "extra" money will magically yield results that where never before possible.. Sorry please don't take offense but a clear case of "think too Mutt" ...just get the cable installed in the room and enjoy the high speed fiber optic internet..who cares who installed it
  8. I suppose that installation on the first floor is a bit easier then the 20th floor ? splicing the fiber cable requires very expensive equipment 3BB are already providing the modem/ONT for "free" 3000 baht doesn't sound too expensive as a one off payment for a needed service..obviously "free" is better but sometimes you can't always get what you want.
  9. if it is fiber optic cable and you have the "ONT" and modem in your room then go for this option...if it is not a fiber cable but the existing coaxial cable or ADSL twisted pair phone line cable then look for another provider/option. Often the condo management have a "rather cozy" deal with a certain telecom company and will only allow that company to install internet services ask them who the allow. Other than that you can look at a cellular 5G mobile internet package and associated modem which is a second rate choice but would allow you more options..if the condo management wont cooperate.
  10. Interesting that you "link" for want of a better word these two events the "security" lapses of both events are just one of many "coincidences" The disproportionate retaliations , draconian laws, suppression of free speech that that followed are also rather similar.
  11. 2 years and eight months for this !!! "He was filmed calling the police “scum”. His sign and protest was not unlawful, but his verbal abuse towards police officers during the “racist incident” crossed the line, the Recorder added." completely overboard sentence and a clear case of 2 tier "justice" I hold no hope that the "inquiry" into his death will reveal anything or lead to an overturning of these unjust and unusually harsh draconian decisions.
  12. Ha Ha well its kind of an option but there are other options much nearer to the Jomtien Bus station along the Jomtien beach road I'll not name the shop as I want to keep using their very good services of alcohol at every time albeit sometimes disguised in a black plastic bag.
  13. Yes the True predecessor I was with Jasmin internet and they continued email until they where "amalgamated"
  14. The excuses are quite pathetic really any ISP should be running its own servers not dependent on "equipment manufactures" especially for such an "essential" service as email. "There are now more communication channels available to use" yes but you (they) should support all channels not just the latest ones ! "Tik Tok" "faceache" "line" 🤮
  15. Pool Bars ??? are they bars selling alcohol in swimming pool environment ? I think maybe Hard Rock hotel if you are a very rich rock star ? One of the View Tallays maybe no 2 ( I almost died there due to wife jumping on my head in the deep end ) or for the "cheap charlies" the swimming pool at "Nong Jub Dow" 50 baht for as long as you want loads of beer and food at extra cost of course.
  16. No they get to stay at the Hilton just imagine if they all turned up there the sheer outrage of it !!
  17. For such a large company I really don't support a (money saving ?) move to reduce services for paying customers "viva la email"
  18. Well kind of not surprising if its "True" ( probably not) I'd try phoning them on some other number than the one in the email. In any case its a good idea to have other email accounts just in case Yahoo Gmail..Hotmail ? still exists not sure.
  19. Use a keyboard and don't let Google/Youtube/NSA listen to everything you say !!! no joking
  20. Fake pearl clutching ! ? if you can't see the very real similarities trying by all means to remove/smear/discredit Trump ,his supporters and many other political opponents of the Biden regime then you are blind.
  21. It's useful as evidence after the fact in trying to track down the culprits not just for traffic violations. At the same time it is rather big brother(ish)...but we don't have anything to hide right ???? so its perfectly ok
  22. Good for you for taking in other opinions /views even if you don't agree with them it is vital to be aware and acknowledge other opinions/viewpoints..just listening to one side of the story most often brings bad results.
  23. There are but this is about Pattaya.. LoL lots happens in Jomtien some CCTV feeds like these from Pattaya would be "interesting" to watch I'm sure they exist but I've never seen them publish the feed urls's
  24. That and a good few traffic accidents, violent "security thug" beat downs some gold shop heists and bank robberies as distant also runs. The Pattaya city "DVR" must be quite a machine to capture 24/7 all that data.
