Some of the key points IMHO from the newspaper article above.
Saudi Arabia, India, South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates, however, took part in the summit, but did not sign the final communique. Brazil attended with “observer status” and did not endorse the text.
Ursula von der Leyen, said it would take time to achieve peace in Ukraine. “[The Swiss summit] was not a peace negotiation because Putin is not serious about ending the war
China decided not to send an envoy to the summit, despite Ukraine’s invitation
Signatories to the communique stated that threats or use of nuclear weapons was “inadmissible”, after repeated nuclear sabre-rattling by Putin, as well as attacks on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant,
(that dastardly Putin trying to blow up a Nuclear power plant in his controlled territory as well as his own pipelines deranged ! )
In line with the summit’s modest aims, there was no discussion of what a postwar settlement would look like or Ukraine’s hopes of joining Nato
So loads of talking about how bad Russia is and lots of agreeing that Russia is bad but not anything of any tangible progress towards "peace"
