Just another day crossing the road...
Digitalbanana replied to brewsterbudgen's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Defies the imagination how someone can walk across a road like this, with no stop lights at the crossing, and not look out for traffic.- 43 replies

The World's Greatest Troll- I give you Trump
Digitalbanana replied to theblether's topic in Political Soapbox
It's not as if Trump has ever said "something stupid and offensive". Methinks Frank Luntz is stupid and offensive - to people who can think for themselves. -

Why do decent Americans support trump
Digitalbanana replied to xylophone's topic in Political Soapbox
To answer the op its all confirmation bias, people living inside their own echo chambers unwilling to come out, loyalty and tribalism and a bizarre emotional attachment. That and they are probably a bit dim. Like who on earth thought it would be OK for a comic to demonize ethnic minorities like Puerto Rica's at the MSG rally on the weekend and brush it off as a stupid racist joke like JDV has subsequently done when many of the swing states have these ethnic minorities, some of whom will be pissed and can swing the vote on a dime.- 603 replies

Trump Rally Manhattan , Fake News ?
Digitalbanana replied to NickyLouie's topic in Political Soapbox
So the guy is a history buff now and wants to re-establish the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to manage illegals. This is the same guy who during his Independence Day speech in 2019 claimed that the Continental Army "took over the airports" from the British during the Revolutionary War. #magamorons -

Genuine question over "TV" viewing in Thailand
Digitalbanana replied to Chivas's topic in Audio Visual AV
If the TV is already smart, it probably comes with a full Android TV o/s already and you don't need to plug anything into it. Just add whatever apps you need from the store or side load them. You said "I don't need 1300 as one advert stated !" but you can filter out what you need and its still the same price often. -
It depends who you know. Alcohol can affect people differently based on several factors, including their age, metabolism, body weight, gender, and other individual differences. The legal limit for blood alcohol concentration is based on a general estimate of the level at which alcohol impairs most people's ability to drive safely.

My Microsoft Word has been 'deactivated'. What can I do?
Digitalbanana replied to siftasam's topic in IT and Computers
1. File Format Compatibility LibreOffice can open and save in Microsoft formats (DOCX, XLSX), but sometimes complex formatting may not transfer perfectly. For example, heavily formatted DOCX files might display differently in LibreOffice Writer. For the most consistent results, save files in ODT (Writer) and ODS (Calc) if only using LibreOffice. However, if you need to exchange files with Microsoft Office users, continue using DOCX and XLSX, but test them for formatting. 2. Macros and Scripts LibreOffice supports macros, but VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) scripts from Excel or Word don’t always work in LibreOffice, especially if they're complex. LibreOffice uses a different macro language (LibreOffice Basic), so some rewriting may be necessary. For simpler macros, they might work with minor tweaks, but for advanced functionality, expect to do some rewriting. 3. Advanced Excel Features Pivot Tables: Basic pivot tables usually transfer fine, but complex pivot tables may lose certain functionalities or layouts in Calc. Conditional Formatting: Basic conditional formatting will work, but advanced conditions or more than 3 rules may have display issues or require adjustments. Data Validation: LibreOffice Calc supports data validation, but some complex validation rules in Excel may not be fully compatible. Dynamic Arrays: Excel’s new functions like FILTER, UNIQUE, and SORT aren’t fully supported in LibreOffice Calc, so those specific formulas may not work as expected. 4. Fonts and Formatting LibreOffice might not have some proprietary Microsoft fonts (like Calibri or Cambria), which could slightly change text flow or layout. Header/Footer Layouts: While basic layouts work well, complex header/footer designs can shift. Text Boxes and Shapes: Basic shapes and text boxes transfer, but positioning might shift. Embedded objects (like SmartArt or complex shapes) may not render perfectly. 5. Embedded Media and Links Images and Charts: Charts generally work, but complex charts may need minor reformatting. Linked Content: Embedded media (e.g., audio or video files) and linked data from external sources (e.g., an Excel file linked to a Word doc) may not work correctly without adjustments. 6. Collaborative Tools LibreOffice doesn’t currently support co-authoring, so if you often collaborate in real-time with others on Office Online, you may find this functionality missing. -

Why not just watch it without VPN on dooball?

Maybe certain models only were made or value added in Thailand. Same as in other industries. Zenni is a US company with manufacturing site in China. They shipped my glasses from Sweden presumably their cost effective distribution hub? It takes 2+ weeks delivery time.

Here's a summary of some of the key points from Donald Trump's three-hour interview with Joe Rogan, for most people who have a life and no interest in watching it: Trump repeated his false claims about the 2020 election, alleging widespread voter fraud and claiming that domestic enemies are a bigger threat to the US than foreign adversaries like Kim Jong Un. During the interview, Joe Rogan did press Donald Trump on his claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election. Rogan challenged Trump to provide evidence for his claims, asking him how he thinks he was "robbed" in the election. Trump's response to Rogan's questioning was largely a reiteration of his previous claims, **without** providing any new evidence or details to support them. Trump discussed a range of topics, including his thoughts on Ukraine, the economy, and social media **without** providing any details. The interview was part of a broader strategy by Trump to reach younger voters and those who may not typically follow traditional news sources. Fact-checkers have debunked many of Trump's claims about the 2020 election, and his continued insistence on these falsehoods has drawn criticism from some quarters.

Perhaps because its not "fully" compatible as others have already alluded to on this thread. -

That's different to Amazon using to ship a product to Thailand as Amazon has already paid the import duty but UPS still will not release the product from Thai customs into Thailand until you declare to Thai customs in person via the UPS office near the airport with pp that you are the legal importer.

Thailand to Implement 300-Baht Tourism Tax Starting with Air Travel
Digitalbanana replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I've not left in years. A trip to the mall is about as far as I go these days. There's also a domestic flight departure tax price included in tickets of 130THB! -
The same happened to me about 5 years ago using a US card purchase of a computer shipped by Amazon, they used UPS shipping agent at that time and Thai customs held it in their warehouse until I completed formalities for an import with UPS. It was normal procedure for Thai customs to hold onto any product imported until you go in person with pp or maybe send a proxy to do it for you and identify yourself on the Thai customs records as the legal importer of said product using that shippng agent. It costs nothing to do, just had to sign some forms and provide passport ID. After approval within 24 hours they allow the import to continue and the product is delivered to your home, you cannot take it with you when you are there. I understand you only need to register once for each shipping agent, after that any future purchases come straight thro but I never tried again.
