  1. Interesting company, thanks. So. they can make or supply the glass. But no mention about who can make the windows or what profile you can use with their glass on the website. Also, if this is true, the u(g)-value of ordinary 3mm clear glass double-pane with 5.8 is ridiculously high. It might be different in combination with the u(f)-value for a quality frame with thermal break. But for 5.8 I don't need more expensive double-pane windows then....
  2. some foreign owned Thailand-based windowmakers offer argon filling. Still highly debated (even in western countries) if the gas filling has any effect...
  3. Why have windows then in the first place? Of course I want to open or close when there is no direct sunshine on the windows to let light in
  4. that's more suitable for a terrace or patio, not in front of windows. And you have to be very careful for (strong) winds. I have worked eight years for this manufacturer WAREMA and load plates for fixing them on the wall were huge and super strong.
  5. more likely import tax for some "exotic" or western standard construction material
  6. How is the law here in Thailand, if someone not keeping safe distance and crashes into your back? Doesn't matter if it was AEB from your car or you just stepped manually on the brake pedal...
  7. Yep, I think that's the main issue here in Thailand. Doesn't matter if you use LKA from Mercedes or Tesla or in this case "just" from MG
  8. any other than the small one-man-shops window fabrication is automatically done on a CNC machine. And as yellowtail said, labour costs here are in general a fraction of what you would have to pay in the US or Europe
  9. If the windowmaker is using a good profile, that has a thermal break between exterior and interior side I assume the energy saving cost is still relevant. On the other hand, if it's just two panes squeezed into an ordinary frame, you're right about the minimal effects
  10. Almost every review about the MG4 has been complaining about the LKA and cruise control issues. Therefore if MG really listen to customer they should fix this in a software update. As you said, the car has the capability for it.
  11. Nice to see. But at what price? 2 million baht
  12. And that's a reason not to use it? Initial cost? What about the energy savings and benefits of sound insulation? Of course you can build a <deleted> cheap Thai house with 5cm walls, no soundproofing or insulation and single pane windows. But what's the quality of living in there....
  13. Do you have double glazing windows?
  14. You forgot that the EP is based on an ICE platform while the MG4 has been completely new developed on a dedicated BEV platform. MG 4 has rear wheel drive, a floor battery and 50:50 weight distribution.
  15. Like I said, design with glass surfaces sells better than solid walls
  16. Try that in Bangkok ????
  17. for better design resulting in higher sales price. Those architects or developers don't have to endure the heat, noise or pay the expensive electricity bill.
  18. With the BYD Han being offered in Europe for 72.000 Euro (~2,6 million THB) I can't see this car being successful in Thailand. You could easily buy a Tesla, BMW EV or one of the upcoming Honda or Nissan EV SUVs
  19. Sunshade and louver from Thailand: https://www.inno-viva.com/category/performance-louver/sunshade-and-grill-louver Chinese manufacturer: https://www.sunlever.net/product/aluminium-window-white-louvered-shutters-exterior with their rock-bottom prices for everything related to steel, aluminium or electronics an import could be worth budget-wise.
  20. Ok, great. That changes the price point more likely
  21. Useful, but imported. Therefore I guess it is very expensive. I have seen louvers or grilles made in Thailand at metal or aluminum stores. You could install them on a (window) frame or rail and install outside the windows. Problem is you would have to close them by hand most likely
  22. Thanks a lot for pointing me to KSS. I've visited their website before. Looking all good. However, it's still shutters where the rooms inside are quite dark as opposed to roller or venetian blinds. Benefits are certainly the material from aluminum and it's durability.
  23. Paint on coating is an option. However, the concrete must have very smooth, even and levelled surface. Not many contractors can do that. Therefore I might stick with tiles. Especially since nowadays there are many decors available.
  24. Are you talking about the ceramic tiles or the engineered wood panels? There is a huge price difference: tiles with wood decor 180 THB per sqm, engineered wood panels 2,000 THB per sqm. Ceramic tiles look nice.
  25. https://www.thaimega.co.th/Roller-Blinds-Outdoor.html#top https://www.oceannewline.com/exterior-products Hesitating with PVC roller blinds outdoors. Even the best quality fabric might get brittle under extreme UV light as we have in Thailand. External venetian blinds from aluminium look fine
