Selling my Permanent Visa from EliteCard
The newer PE visa is still a 5 year visa sticker but with one year entry stamp. For the longer 20 year memberships this sticker is replaced at each 5 year anniversary.

Do foreigners need to pay tax in Thailand?
Thanks. I wonder what will happen in practice - there was a recent poll saying that 58% of expats intend not to file at the present time. Also comments from the Finance Minister last month suggesting that the rules were under review. Three weeks until the deadline and things are still as clear as mud.

Do foreigners need to pay tax in Thailand?
Is this a new document published by the RD? Looks pretty scant on details. If 2024 remittances fall into the 0% band (<150000฿) is there a requirement to file? And what is the penalty for filing late when things are made clearer?

Which Android TV box to achieve high speeds?
Had an X96 mini for a few years (2gb/16gb), cheap and cheerful at around $20 but it does feel a bit basic. The performance actually improved significantly after a year or two when I did a kodi upgrade. Works OK, albeit with poor ventilation and a tendency to overheat.

Remember the olden days in Thailand?
I miss the days when you could apply by post for a one year Non O on the basis of visiting friends and family from any consulate in your home country, with zero supporting documentation. Rinse and repeat year after year.

Residence Certificate at Chaengwattana Turnaround
I applied for CoR at CW earlier this week (not arrived yet). She asked for my TM30 and my 90 day report which I gave, and then said after doing 90 day it was necessary to make an updated TM30 showing departure date to match the permitted until date on passport, as previous check out date was left blank. Anyone else had this? I pointed out that a new TM30 would not be able to show my actual arrival date in Thailand and she said it didn't matter. It baffled me but it didn't affect the CoR, I was told it was something I could do later. The other thing I wasn't expecting, I was told the CoR is only valid for one month - wasn't it previously a year?

Just one little drink a day may seriously affect your health
Not easy to compare East with West in this regard. Lao kao aside, Thailand's sky high rates of liver cancer often involve history of hepatitis, plus there are dietary factors such as dishes like koi plaa which causes liver flukes.

Is It worth Paying NI Top-up?
This depends on how many years have been paid in. Looks like the OP has very few years accumulated, in which case those pre 2016 years would certainly count. It is as you say a bit of a minefield, and important to get specific information from the Future Pensions Centre on qualifying years for each individual case.

Is It worth Paying NI Top-up?
Well worth the investment. The cost of funding a full state pension is around a quarter of a million pounds on current annuity rates. Any NIC's paid in are recouped within around 3 years after pension age. On the downside the pension is frozen if living in Thailand, and pension reforms (means testing etc) may happen in the coming years.

European Pension List
True, but I'm comparing it to the table in the OP which refers to new state pension only (£185.15pw in 2022/23). Although it compares miserably with other European countries, the UK state pension has actually doubled in the past 10 years (£115.95pw @ April 2015, £230.25pw @ April 2025).

European Pension List
That looks like the 2022 figure, it's currently £958.53, rising 4.1% in April.
