Good luck, but that said....thinking you are in a tough spot and possibly out of luck. Never had any success with major financial institutions sending OTP to VOIP such as Skype or Google Voice. These numbers are recognized as VOIP and rejected, in my experience. Also if you or someone were able to get you a US Sim Card, am pretty sure it would need to be activated in USA first before sending here. Not aware of being able to activate a US number abroad. And lastly....be certain to get a SIM card and plan that works globally. Some of the inexpensive plans/small companies are restricted to just the USA or North America. Please keep us posted if something works or how you solve this issue.

Same in Pattaya. Taxi Meter...never once a meter used. B300 to go the shortest distance was their answer every time. Now I RELISH when those Taxi Meter drivers pick me up as BOLT and get B60, including tip, for what they used to fleece the unwary tourists. LOVE IT! ????

Good guess. They are extremely similar. However, Mangrove is restricted to the peninsular SW and not likely to hit your window...unless the house is in the mangroves! B-W Pitta is common and widespread. Found in many habitats throughout most of Thailand, except for a big chunk of Isaan.

Withholding tax on foreigners Thai savings account is 15% of the interest paid. With TIN believe you can file for reimbursement if interest under B20,000. I don't have a TIN and just don't bother with it. Not worth my time or effort. This "withholding" scam just started a few years back and is just another greedy money grab by LOG(reed).

I find Lazada has good customer service. Have never had a problem with refunds, though you may want to call and talk to someone. Good English too. Credit Card refund is generally not instantaneous and make take a few days or even a week or more in my experience.

Recently driving car on Jomtien Beach Road and making a right turn with turn signal ON and...ZOOM...moto-bike idiot passes me on the right. Had I not triple checked the side view, he would have been a statistic. And surely I'd have somehow been found at fault. Shame the old pedestrian died and not the irresponsible idiot driving.
