  1. A quick, simple question. Do the the banks here make a charge for supplying FETs for pension payments? I'm weighing up the merits of having my pensions paid directly to my Krungsri account. I would need 2 per month, so if there's a charge, it could add up to quite a bill compared with the cost of monthly Wise transfers, but it would be so much more convenient.
  2. The article does not mention a timescale. I guess it's a case of 'when the time is right'.
  3. I've been riding here, on a variety of roads from country lanes to main highways for 9 years and never once had my motorcycle 'swerve without explanation'.
  4. I'm sure my wife would say the same if we had the option, but we don't have a car so It's motorcycle or do without! Fortunately we live in a fairly quite part of the country and I know the roads very well.
  5. Completely wrong! I have 3 pensions paid directly into my Wise Multi currency account.
  6. Scoot plus Singapore Airlines will get you to Brisbane.
  7. They are bringing the A330-300s back into service. https://airwaysmag.com/thai-airways-older-jets/
  8. No there isn't much to my annoyance! Neither can you block an 'ignored users' post if someone replies to their banal contributions.
  9. My wife cautions me to be careful and slow down every time I take the motorcycle out, even though she knows that I am a very experienced and careful rider. Some wives care you know! Reading his profile, he doesn't sound like the reckless sort to me, but he had flown in from Scotland the previous day. Fatigue and jet lag could well have been contributing factors.
  10. If you don't trust it use a sanitized wet wipe. Job done.
  11. Personally I think that you're grossly over thinking this @4MyEgo. As you don't seem to be short of the readies, why not just stuff 400k into a THB time deposit account and leave it there making you a little bit of interest. You're then able to do the marriage extension yourself without involving an agent thereby saving a whole load of money. Plus the peace of mind that you'll know for sure that it's all legal and above board.
  12. I'm not offering my Click for sale, I'm merely giving this info as an example. The bottom line really is that if you have any doubts about what to do, go buy a new one. They're cheap enough after all.
  13. These machines don't tend to do a lot of mileage as they tend to be used in the urban environment. We have an 8 year old Click that's only done 31,000kms and I know it's genuine 'cause we've had it from new. A simple answer to your perceived dilemma is to buy one with an electronic odo. Like you say it's very unlikely that it will have been tampered with. What you need to be alert for is any signs of floodwater damage. Other than that, these bikes are just about bomb proof.
  14. It makes sense if you ignore the totally inappropriate stock photograph, which is clearly not the kind of installation that you'll find on a fruit farm! The most likely transformer you'll find in this instance is a step up transformer used to power an electric fence, used to keep animals off the crop. They operate typically between 2,000 to 10,000 volts. Such a installation would be downstream of the meter and not the responsibility of the power company, which is why she's unlikely to get any sympathy from them.
  15. We took ours out to lunch when we did this. She seemed to appreciate that gesture. Here's a hint for. Do try and get to know your Pu Yai Bann, they can be very useful. We're lucky, our current one is my wife's nephew.
  16. Buffalo manure. 'The winner of the competition must be confident. She must understand the values of our brand and the responsibilities of the title. She must have the ability to articulate her ambition. A delegate should demonstrate authenticity, credibility and exhibit grace under pressure. The women who compete embody the modern, global aspiration for the potential within all women'. https://www.missuniverse.com/copy-of-apply
  17. Well I'm very pleased to read that 'they' at least have got themselves into the 21st century where equality has a place in this world. When are you going to join us?
  18. Who is 'they' and what is it 'they just don't get?'
  19. Forming a 'committee' to investigate incidents like this is standard practice worldwide , although we in the western world are more inclined to call them 'Boards of Inquiry'. There's no difference in my book.
  20. Smartphone users beware the predictive text. ????I was trying to figure out how you hit 'n' instead of 's' on a keyboard. I've got you now. Have a nice day.
  21. According to dictionary.com, yes it is. By the way is: ''In 'unordinary' a word" a correct sentence? He who throws stones etc. ???? https://www.dictionary.com/browse/unordinary
  22. Yes, you're right, it would have made the report somewhat clearer wouldn't it. But do note that this wasn't ASEAN NOW's doing. They were just copy and pasting the article from Thaiger and one has to fair, English is not their first language.
  23. Different day. Same old problem!
