No problem getting stopped on the holiday, and I would enjoy the interaction to see exactly how they were protecting myself and other tourists. I guess you just want reactive law enforcement where they only respond after some feces has happened, like you getting scammed, or your information used by someone else because you lost your passport or ID. Yet another one who only complains when they are not doing there jobs.....Immigration officers are out there looking for folks who are causing problems or could potentially be in violation of the rules......sure is a pitiful world when immigration officers, who by the way are law enforcement in their own respect, get treated like you are treating them, with disrespect.

The Southern HH Khao Tao Lake area, as well as Pranburi and south to Mueng PKK is a great area to live and relax. We have kept the condo in BKK for trips to see doctors and shop but spend most months at our house now. There is a bus station in HH which will take one to BKK or even the airports. The train runs daily and is a great trip in itself as you get to see the countryside....unspoiled fir the most part.

Thai PM urged to reconsider decriminalisation of cannabis
ThailandRyan replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thailand seems to be a country where people use things in excess once legalized. In the US cannabis had been illegal for decades but still obtainable by middle school and high school kids. When it became legal in some states it was not a big deal. Here in Thailand the youth saw it as something new, just like when kids find alcohol. -
A new passport with the same identity info? Or one with new credentials and a different name? Unless that person has not been to Thailand for many years and there is no information in the data base such as a photo or finger prints, or any matching Information to assist the IO then one might get lucky. The days of changing a passport are over....

Gradually improving, but not with the numbers being only tourists I am afraid. If you can prove to me beyond a doubt that all nationalities listed came as tourists and not the 4 surrounding countries for just 1 or 2 days to bring in goods and take goods out, I might believe you. I know many from the surrounding countries Cambodia and Laos that enter weekly to do business then return, they are classed as tourists which they are not. Just like I am classed as a tourist with my new LTRWP visa and ME re-entry permit. If I left and arrived every month I would be counted 12 times as a tourist.....

No fearmongering the first part of my post is a reality that could play out. Happened to a friend who was here in Phuket Studying both Thai language, getting a TEFL and doing Muay Thai for 2 years. He flew out to SIngapore to obtain a new visa, where he stayed for a month, and on his return here on a new Student visa he was pulled to a senior IO desk and interviewed in Thai about his studies, luckily he had gone to class and learned, and had not just misused the Visa as many have. The joke about Lumpinee was in my post because this is how the IO joked with him during the interview. With the Student Visas, which are currently under great scrutiny once again, you need to ensure you use it to study and not as a get around to stay in the country if you can not obtain a different type of Visa due to age, marriage etc.... My friend Phil was lucky and he used his studies wisely. It helped him when he opened up his own business here. Good luck, and no I am no fun at parties as I could care less about crowds.

The other one you need to feel sorry for is the crossing guard whose job it is to push the barriers out on both sides as the train approaches and then rolls them back....he/she must have had a hell of a time dealing with the fact some moron tried to squeeze through and lost at playing frogger. The carnage....

Former President Donald Trump files to run in 2024
ThailandRyan replied to Scott's topic in World News
As the train wreck rolls onward so does Donald. From antisemitism to Qanon and pizzagate. He just keeps up inviting the fringe extremists to Mar-a-Lago. https://abcnews-go-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/abcnews.go.com/amp/US/trump-hosts-event-featuring-qanon-pizzagate-conspiracy-theorist/story?amp_gsa=1&_js_v=a9&id=94701765&usqp=mq331AQIKAGwASCAAgM%3D#amp_tf=From %1%24s&aoh=16704889253188&csi=0&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&share=https%3A%2F%2Fabcnews.go.com%2FUS%2Ftrump-hosts-event-featuring-qanon-pizzagate-conspiracy-theorist%2Fstory%3Fid%3D94701765 -

Love being on the sidelines watching the train wreck starting....many will be falling with Indictments.....reminds me of the 90's.... -
It literally comes down to one being impatient. We have around 8 trains a day goin up and down the rail line here in the Khao Tao Area. The one at 7 am today made sure they blasted the horn as they approached the crossing here which is being worked on for an overpass. Just had another go through as I write this post.

I travel back and forth across the border 3 to 4 times a year, yet I live here, and as always I am considered a Long Stay tourist, so then in essence I am counted 3 or 4 times every year. The same goes with those that come and go for work...try again. Are you now trying to say they do not count me or the workers who travel in and out who work for multinational companies......you are a lost cause, time to ignore you.
