Shoppers’ Rebates, Property Tax Cut as New Year Gifts
ThailandRyan replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not all got those handouts as I stayed earlier. Those without bank accounts or a job listed were denied....this I know as we adopted 3 families almost 3 years ago now to assist them.... -
Shoppers’ Rebates, Property Tax Cut as New Year Gifts

The real poor is who we have adopted throughout the last 3 years. Those who lost jobs because of closures, whose stores went under etc....and yet received nothing from this government. I have lived here long enough, through a coup, then a legitimate government, another coup, and then another short lived government, and tbis current coup led government. The only time the disenfranchised were given a chance to grow was during a former leader who was removed by a coup while he was gone from the country. The last 3 pandemic years has created a system where the poor are shunted to the Fringes and pretty much given lip service. Go ahead and belief what you want but having g been married to the daughter of a Phu Yai Ban and having family members in the military and RTP I have seen it from one end of the spectrum to the other. Go visit some of the small side sois in BKK and then the smaller impoverished villages in the outer provinces and tell me after stopping and visiting how much help this and specifically this government has given them. Power is not something they can do without yet many barely use it because of cost. -
Reasonable for us expats and those we'll off Thais, but the underpaid and impoverished Thais don't think so. Many have never had a warm shower and before you start in with "well they have cell phones", you might want to research your comment before it gets shredded. No they do not all buy apple phones. Many cook on wood and sleep in a cold house in the north during g this time and is why blankets and coats are handed out.

It is an endemic problem and why the impoverished starve and recieve nothing from the government. I know a few who can not get the medical care needed as they are not registered even in a housebook somewhere. -

So no help for the oppressed underpaid workers who don't pay taxes because they do not make enough? -

Here are the lyrics as sung by Prayut as he returns happiness to his money in the bank and sings to his bank book: "Don't Worry, Be Happy" Here's a little song I wrote You might want to sing it note for note Don't worry, be happy In every life we have some trouble When you worry you make it double Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy now

What about laundry facilities, as on the balcony is normally where the washing machine was put in the older units. Does it have an air conditioning unit or is that something you wouldn't need. Is there communal parking for a motorbike or car if you have one, and is it near transportation if not. What are the common area fees that the complex charges? Is there on site security? just a few things I looked for when I bought my first 36sqm condo in Nonthaburi near the MOPH for which I only paid 650K. To furnish my unit I ended up spending about 200K for the bed, couch, television center and a double closet for the clothes. Added a small coffee table, which is where I ate, and had a small refrigerator placed on the wall near where I installed the small kitchen cook unit with the hot plate and a spot for the microwave, and a cupboard above the sink for my eating utensils. The bathroom is another thing to look at, I had to add the water heater and then the shower glass walls, as all it was just a shower head on the wall and the toilet next to the sink, so I separated the toilet from the shower. All things to think about, unless of course your happy living Thai style. Sold that unit for 1.2MThb when I bought my Lumpini Condo.

So what happened to those that did not get any of the stimulus money as they had no bank accounts or were not working in a job that allowed the stimulus? were they just not counted? -
@Misty Thank you for the update on your trip out to the BOI LTR Unit. As you mentioned, and I agree 100%, I don't think what you accomplished today, and what I accomplished last week, could have been done in a phone call. I have not yet checked my status on the website yet as I am not near a computer and am using my cell to write this. As soon as I see a change I will give an update as well.

I ordered one for my mother in the US who had COPD, it gave her the ability to move around her house, albeit with a long 100' line, but she could do things herself. It was an Inogen concentrator. Are you doing breathing treatments once or twice a day yet?

How much money was paid to the Agoda in sponsorship and ads which resulted in this very favorable award. I mean the country just truly reopened. Plus add in the fact one can not leave a negative review or risk arrest for defamation......just my view
