  1. Just read the article in the paper we can not link to on the LTR visas. It appears they have had 400 applications, many from retirees for the LTRWP. Appears many Chinese have also applied. Will be interesting. I hopefully will hear back by the 22nd or soon after that. My current extension of stay expires in November and I normally go to CW in October and renew that extension of stay 30 days prior. Keeping my fingers crossed. Wishing all who have applied good luck as well.
  2. Nasty looking ominous dark clouds are rolling in as we speak....just my luck as we need to drive to Sai Mai to pick up the GF's daughter for a 4 day visit since school has been closed. Hopefully I do not have to drive into any flooded areas, as I will just return home and the daughter can stay at her fathers.
  3. So in your view anyone who has owned property, including the castles and homes that the royals have, should not be entitled to the monies they are worth and it should go to the people, even though it was the royals relatives in the past who bought and paid for those properties. Oh I get it you believe that because taxes levied on the farmers and so on paid for these properties then they are owned not by the Crown but the people...try again.
  4. Never said you had to wear a mask in the restaurant now did I? Just when using the buffet or the lift. Can nit very well eat with a mask on. In places where we order food from the server, we wear a mask into the restaurant and then once seated remove them. With the recent coughing and flu season now here as well as Covid still being around better to be safe than sorry. Two friends and their wives are now down with illnesses after taking a two week trip and not wearing masks, but that was up to them. I am not advocating for mask wearing, I am saying mask wearing is still pretty high here and required by some establishments that is all.
  5. In many places you might be correct, but when many of the establishments have signs indicating masks and gloves are to be worn while using the buffet lines and the lifts then it is not my decision to fail to follow the private establishments rules, or are you saying they are just suggestions.
  6. You still do not get it do you. Thai laws do not apply to private establishments. If they decide you need to wear a mask and mandate it then you follow the rules in the establishment or hotel. Up to you to cause others problems, like the staff who try to avoid strife and be easygoing and will avoid you at all costs. My Condo in BKK still makes it mandatory to wear a mask in the common areas, and in the lifts, and they will not hesitate to fine you for failing to obey the buildings rules. Why do you think only government laws apply to all and everywhere.....My House in PKK Hua Hin no rules, but when we go out we take a mask and follow the rules that private establishments have in place.
  7. Nope, that's Hua Hin as well and the other places we have traveled to in the past few weeks like Phuket. You must be eating off of food carts and staying in amazing low budget accommodations.
  8. I understood it to be your tax returns, which we do in the US for the previous year and it shows all income earned whether from work or a pension/SS
  9. You still need to show insurance covering you for the year of 50k usd or more...so no it does not do away with the Insurance requirement, well maybe the 3.5 MThb portion the OA wants.
  10. Wear the mask and gloves when getting food at the buffets......hotels as well as Sizzler and other restaurants. Masks worn on MRT and BTS....stop your false rhetoric.
  11. On the actual application in step 4 where you upload documents there is this section to upload your tax documents as well as income documents
  12. I wish I had the laughing emoji for this post but wait.....here you go..... ????
  13. Ahhh evacuating the bowels of the city....nice.
  14. GF Just received a call from her daughter who lives out on the backside of Laksi near Sai Mai, lots of flooding this morning out that way and school will be closed for the next 3 days. They are apparently stuck in their Moo Ban due to the water at the front being to high to drive through right now. Not sure what if any flooding near CW there may be.
  15. So leave the flooding, build a Moat, and encourage Kayaks to be sold in town so that tourists can paddle around the area while having Kayaking competitions. Better yet, bring in a bunch of large pigs and create a mud wrestling entertainment venue, where the tourists can get in the ring and roll in the mud....
  16. So lets just go back in time and decide that when the Capital of Thailand was moved to Bangkok that those responsible for paving over the canals now be charged and must pay the rehabilitation funds to alleviate the flooding. Time to find where the money paid to the the Royal Forest Department went and if in the past 4 years the department reported the progress of its work once every year for three years......
  17. Never will happen they are the government and investigate only what they want and who they want.....
  18. Wait you need a license to drive, I thought you just needed to play follow the leader and all was good.
  19. Looks like the Ukrainian military will be taking back Crimea pretty soon as well..... https://kucnews.com/news/ukraine/the-russian-leadership-is-evacuating-their-families-from-crimea-marchenko-78428.html
  20. I was asked to provide a photo through the Application process's step 4 where you upload all of the required documents. Initially this section for adding the photo was not one that was required at the time of application and could be uploaded later like the health insurance. It was after they reviewed the application on September 5th that they then sent me an e-mail and requested I add a photo as well as the updated Health insurance policy. I did as requested and I added a passport photo I had scanned, and the updated PCH Policy to section 4. It was a few days later that I received the e-mail I posted in one of my above posts which indicated the application was under final review and I would be notified.
  21. Driving down to Hua Hin you have spots where the left lane is 80kph, the middle lane is 100 kph and the right lane is a max of 120 kph with a minimum of 100 kph. Maybe designed for the different sized vehicles, but every time we drive to the house from BKK there is always a bus or a semi-truck in the right had lane doing 80.....kind of defeats the purpose and causes a huge back-up. Then you have the wannabe speed racers who cut in and out at 160kph.........still no highway police in sight except at a checkpoint they may or may not be using.
  22. Super soldiers, like the terminator or Universal Soldier....
  23. They will need an entire new division of Tow Truck enforcement vehicles staffed by hundreds to sweep in and clear the left lanes of those cars parked illegally at the curb blocking just Rama 4 and Rama 3 here in BKK. They will need a large lot in which to store these vehicles and then charge the owners 10k Thb to retrieve them along with a date and time to appear before a court and explain why the car was parked illegally. Best bet, is that what will be heard is "I was only running into 7 or at one of the road side stalls getting food", who cares about the traffic backlog it creates....selfish <deleted> some folks are.....
  24. Our Russian apologist will be along shortly to tell us it is all fake propaganda designed to give the west a false sense of accomplishment and will make Ukraine sue for peace.
