  1. When your a married gay/lesbian couple, as my friends are, and the homophobia and attacks upon you are becoming more and more unbearable, would you stay. It is not just a few idiots, Desantis has turned the schools into an unfriendly learning environment where parents are being pitted against each other. California has always been open and welcoming to most folks, rarely do you see the type of attacks which are occurring. You can thank San Francisco for assisting California get on the board and stay on the board as far as the far as the LGBTQ community. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/florida-anti-lgbtq-laws-prompt-families-who-feel-unsafe-to-flee/ar-AA1cn7QK July 1, That is the day a slate of new laws signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis targeting the LGBTQ community take effect. Doctors will be allowed to deny care based on their moral beliefs. The use of preferred pronouns will be banned in public schools. And children will be barred from attending drag shows, among other measures. One law that prohibits gender-affirming health care for transgender people under the age of 18 is already being enforced. Add in: https://wusfnews.wusf.usf.edu/courts-law/2022-09-22/a-report-details-how-extremism-and-hate-crimes-are-on-the-rise-in-florida Ben Poppe, with the ADL's Center on Extremism, wrote the report. He said what makes the increase in Florida extremism stand out from the overall rise in hate across the country is that Florida extremists are now coordinating with each other. And, Poppe said, they are even touting the Sunshine State as a great place to relocate your hate. "They actually created Florida propaganda posters saying the state of hate needs you and advertising to other extremists to move to Florida,” Poppe said. “They're trying to make Florida a place where this kind of thing is acceptable and to center their activities in the state." With all that is happening in Florida, why not move and be safe.
  2. I know a few folks who retired to Florida from California. Because of the growing dissension in Florida they are selling up and moving to Montana.
  3. If he uses his own media platform to incite protests and riots he will have added one more nail in his coffin. The man's ability to whip people up into a frenzy is his calling card. A person like that is dangerous. Reminds me of someone prior to WW2 If he has his way the US will be a smoking ruinous place unless the rule of law and order stops in and defends the country against his antics. He is an antagonistic angry self serving gentleman.
  4. Trump is leading the charge for more unsettling riots it appears. Do his supporters even know what a non-violent protest is? https://news.yahoo.com/trump-calls-protests-over-latest-195123973.html “Our country has to protest… We’ve lost everything,” Trump said.
  5. There are some truly disturbed people in this world. It looks like fascism is still alive and the belief in superior races clouds peoples minds. Truly reprehensible.
  6. Trump has set the ball in motion for his own demise not anyone else. The man had he been congenial and acted Presidential during his term, and not so in your face with tweeting day in and out nasty comments, and then backstabbing even his own folks would not have much of a worry. Then had he done what was right by returning the requested documents, which he had taken, would not be in the position he is in today. He has violated more laws than anyone who is already in jail, and yet he still stands on the outside. HIs demeanor and the comments he made created the Jan 6th debacle, and almost cost his VP his life as well as others. Many followed his lead and voice and look where that landed them......in prison, or are you trying to say they are innocent and it was just a mistake as they were invited in, told to put there feet up on Pelosi's desk, and destroy the rule of law.
  7. Could it be because there is no news, and no the law has not been weaponized, but is being applied as it would to anyone else? Give that a thought
  8. Look at the evidence. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then its a duck. The facts support the Indictment. An innocent person in his position would not be put through such rigamarole. The grand jury found enough evidence to indict him, if a jury finds him innocent well that's a different issue all together.
  9. Beyond the scope of a normal school education? How do you come up with that prime statement. My children when they were in school many years ago received an entire 2 semester section on human sexuality in there Health Education course which stemmed over two years during the sophomore and junior years. Understanding the scope taught was necessary to pass the course, and of course the subject matter also dealt with alternate lifestyles.
  10. One can only hope that after Tuesdays court appearance, in Miami, that he is remanded into the custody of his secret service, placed on an ankle monitor, not allowed to leave from his home in Mara Lago, his passport taken, is planes grounded, and no guests allowed except for his legal defense team. His family can have visitation with him but only under supervised conditions except of course his conjugal visit. Any other person facing the same depth of charges would already be in custody and held without bail, or if out on bail would have the conditions I laid out above placed on them. Yet Trump supporters insist that he should be treated differently just because he is the former POTUS. One other thing that should happen is he should have a gag order placed upon him and his media platform mothballed until the case is settled.
  11. Trump, has lost more attorneys who have left his sinking ship. The way the man continues to whip people into a frenzy and disregard his own legal team will not end well for him nor will it end well for the elected senators and congressman who are advocating the measures they are. As I stated in an earlier post the 14th Amendment should now be in play for any elected official who allows themselves to spew forth the rhetoric such as the OP is stating, and those who posted tweets and such after the indictment was released. If I ever spoke like these folks are doing, I would have been suspended from service and terminated for violating my oath of office as a LEO. Many have.
  12. He just may be trying to get in as many more games as he can before his clubs get taken away and all he has are pictures of them while he serves his extended time out.
  13. One wonders if they have ever looked at the oath of office they took when they were sworn in. This theatrical rhetoric needs to be squashed by the Sergeants at Arms in both chambers and the members of both the lower and upper House put on notice that continuing this rhetoric is a violation of the 14th ammendment. PDF of the ammendment: https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/lsb/lsb10569 Here is a link and some information: https://constitution.findlaw.com/amendment14/annotation15.html "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof." Frequently Asked Questions What does the Constitution say about insurrection? Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment prohibits anyone who has previously taken an oath of office (Senators, Representatives, and other public officials) from holding public office if they have "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" against the United States. This means, at least theoretically, that politicians who participate in or encourage a rebellion against the government can not only be removed from office but prevented from holding state and federal offices in the future. However, how disqualification works under the 14th Amendment has never been clear.
  14. Yet your hero used it to his advantage as well. You can't have your cake and eat it too when it comes to equal justice. Your side can complain all they want but Trump made the mess worse when he himself weaponized the DOJ. https://www.pogo.org/analysis/2020/02/double-standards-at-doj The president’s explicit and flagrant use of the Department of Justice to benefit his allies like Roger Stone has shocked many. Federal prosecutors quit the Stone case and at least one has resigned from the department altogether. More than 2,000 Justice Department alumni wrote a letter warning that the president’s abuse of power is threatening the venerated institution’s impartiality, and the Federal Judges Association has even convened an emergency meeting to address the president’s conduct. While our Constitution guarantees equal protection of the law, as a nation, we have done a pretty terrible job of living up to that promise.
  15. Your hilarious, Now I believe your being disingenuous.. Former US president Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) planted the documents that were found at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. 16. I think your eyes are tired Sir so I will highlight the word for you Former US president Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) planted the documents that were found at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Can you see where he said: Planted. Thats not as you say in your post to me where I have quoted this section of yours below, "The FBI released an image of documents strewn over Donalds floor . Donald said that it was the FBI who put the documents on the floor and took them from storage". Do you see Planted or do you see Put in his statement he gave the Indian news station........
  17. You decidedly left out this section of my post to try and deflect what was written now didn't you. Stop cherry picking parts of a post you wish to respond to https://news.yahoo.com/trump-repeats-unproven-claim-fbi-073229730.html Former US president Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) planted the documents that were found at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. In an interview with Indian news television channel NDTV on Thursday, Mr Trump said: “That (the documents) they (the FBI) put there. It’s a set-up. It’s weaponisation. And it’s inappropriate to do. It’s a bad thing for our country.
