Thai PM says he opposes the recreational use of cannabis
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ridiculous. Just legalize smoking cannabis recreationally, not only medically, and thereby reduce the gang element and get the police working on more important matters such as murder, thieving and extortion. -
Srettha hit with plenty of brickbats for “directionless” policy
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The new PM is a pawn amongst some much more powerful players in the political game. Anutin, for one, is dictating policies that suit his own interests. There are many others doing the same. -
Foreigners Laud Free Thai Visa Policy for Chinese tourists
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ridiculous headline, ludicrous statement from Kang. This is a continuation of the previous Thai govt aiding and abetting the Chinese takeover of the Thai economy and institutions. Money moving under the table in all directions. Thailand is becoming a Chinese colony. Very sad. -

The days of military coups in Thailand are gone : Sutin

Yes indeed. It will be interesting to see how the new govt handles the scheduled dissolution of the current senate next May. -
Pheu Thai Popularity Rating Drops To 10%: Sripatum Poll
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The current 'senators' should be out of office when their tenure expires next May. However, it remains to be seen if that actually happens... -
Given the lying and treachery which have followed the election MFP are best off staying right out of it, and leading the opposition. They will likely win big at the next election.

As Pheu Thai keeps crossing new lines, Move Forward finds own dilemma
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Strange article. MFP should steer well clear of this shameful farce. Their public support will increase if they do not become involved, and their time will come at the next election. -
Pita Cleared In First Round Of Polling Agency Enquiry Over ITV Shares
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The best thing the MFP/Pita can do is to go into opposition mode, and wait. Their time will come, hopefully at the next election. By then it seems likely their popular support will be overwhelming, given the treachery and lies of PT, the 'senate', and the 'uncles' now being witnessed. -
How much does a Retirement Home cost in Thailand?
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why not move them now ? Never too late. -
Pheu Thai cruising toward power, but at what price?
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You appear to be unaware that Pheu Thai's treachery and lying will result in a government led by Prawit, with Prayut and Anutin still involved. Just what the vast majority of Thais voted against.- 29 replies

Move Forward undecided on whether to support Pheu Thai’s PM candidate
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Best to MFP to have nothing to do with current smoke and mirrors, go into opposition, and wait. Their day will come, at the latest at the time of the next general election. -
Thailand was great for western retirees/visitors in the '60s, 70's and '80s. Cheap flights in the '90s resulted in the arrival of large numbers of farangs who dressed badly, spoke badly and behaved badly. Observing this Thais at all levels became less friendly. This has, however, improved recently. Hopefully the improvement will continue, and will bring things nearer to how they were all those years ago.

I sense, as I have from the moment the election results were announced, a government led by Prawit with Anutin in a prominent role, will be in place in due course. All going according to plan...

Move Forward apologise to supporters as Pheu Thai forms new coalition
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Being in opposition is not a bad place to be for the MFP given the disgusting display of greed and treachery now going on following their withdrawal. Time is on their side. Meantime, oppose vigourously, and stay true to your cause.
