I stopped eating it because of the cruel treatment of the animals producing it. Utterly disgusting.

Together 40 years, married 32 years. Most of our discussions are about practical, day to day issues. I enjoy the absence of BS.

Wife allegedly axed to death by husband after refusing to reconcile
Thingamabob replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
It's everywhere. A 90 year old pensioner in his wheelchair has just been stabbed to death in broad daylight in London, and a 9 year old girl shot dead in Liverpool, plus countless other daily stabbings/deaths throughout the UK. -
Stunning sense of humour...

I think not racist. Sometimes German humour can be very basic. Personal comments and banana-skin type jokes abound. Not to be taken too seriously in my opinion.

Using a Pattaya agent while living in Bkk
Thingamabob replied to Regain's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Personally I've never used an agent for any purpose in over 60 years visiting, working and living in retirement in Thailand. If you decide to live in Bangkok why not go to CW and ask them for advice as to how to proceed ? If, on the other hand, you prefer to use an agent in Pattaya while living in Bangkok, just be careful not to run into problems concerning a possible fake address rather than your actual place of residence. -

Bangkok governor joins C40 on climate action
Thingamabob replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Chadchart is going to help deal with the 'climate crisis' according to this article. Perhaps he could consider first dealing with traffic congestion, garbage disposal, klong pollution, overhead cable entanglement, and fire and safety measures generally. That's just for starters. -

UK Passport renewal and Extension of Stay
Thingamabob replied to Mark79's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As I already said, I renewed my UK passport here through VFS and no embassy letter required by CW to make transfers. (Sorry, I forgot that VFS supplied embassy letter. My mistake). -
I think the word 'not' is missing in this report.

Will the Thai authorities ever tighten up on entertainment licenses?
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Years ago I had a part interest in the old Alleycat bar at the Silom end of Patpong 2. We met all the legal health and safety requirements, and never had any problems with the RTP. -

Oh dear. Lighten up for heaven's sake. Whatever his motives I reckon Anutin has made a good move on this issue. -
UK Passport renewal and Extension of Stay
Thingamabob replied to Mark79's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
6 months ago I received a new UK passport having applied in Thailand. CW transferred all relevant details from my old passport with no questions asked, including no request for an embassy letter. This was all done in Thailand so maybe not helpful in your case however, for what it is worth, CW seemed pretty relaxed about this procedure.
