    Buddhism is a philosopy, not a religion. What we have in Thailand is ldolatry and a belief in reincarnation, hence the refusal to put animals down for fear of being punished in the next life.

    Absolutely right on both points. He is a puppet. He was always going to be shafted by Thaksin, clearing the way for a Shinawatra takeover. However, Thaksin is not liked in establishment circles, will likely over-estimate his importance as he did previously, and find himself on the way back to Dubai sooner or later.

    The people are friendly but life is rather chaotic outside the tourist areas. I wouldn't recommend it as a place to retire to.

    Abortion is a tricky subject. Many years ago my wife had an abortion, entirely with my agreement, but it has troubled us both ever since.

    Not sure this post has anything to do with influencers however the serious problem of under-age trafficking is complicated by young people physically maturing earlier and earlier, and appearing older than their really are.
