Good point. Jumping from a low floor means you hit the ground quickly with not much time to regret what you are doing, but more likely to be badly damaged than dead. Jumping from a high floor insures you will be dead when you hit the ground, but with more time to think about it as you're going down. I would prefer to shoot myself.

Agreed. More than likely. -
'E-cigarettes' may be classified as a drug
Thingamabob replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The Thaksin effect. When the creep was in office he instituted a, so- called, war on drugs. Over two thousand people were shot dead, many of them entirely innocent. He should have faced criminal justice, but finished up running away to exile in Dubai. -

The original Queen's Castle on Patpong 1 was, in my opinion, the best bar in Bangkok in the 1970/1980s. It was voted the best bar in Asia, and possibly the world, by Time magazine. Great girls, great service, great fun.

Which Side Will Thailand Choose?

Taiwan is a part of China ? That tells us all we need to know about you and your affiliations. While Taiwan has at different times been occupied by Portugal, China and Japan it is today an independent island with a thriving economy. The Chinese claim that it is Chinese territory is entirely bogus. -
Which Side Will Thailand Choose?
Thingamabob replied to Brewster67's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
In answering your question it is likely that Thailand will try to stay neutral but will likely be betrayed by its' pro-Chinese politicians. Worth remembering that it was the USA who saved Thailand from world-wide recriminations following Thailand's cooperation with Japan during WW2, and it was the USA who then supported Thailand militarily and financially thereafter. -

Foreigner Poses as Immigration Officer, Assaults Pump Attendant

This is about how foreigners behave when abroad. In this case it appears to have been a Brit. Hopefully he will be caught and deported. -

Ridiculous comment. -
Depends entirely on how you want to live, as it does in any country. If you want to stay in top hotels/ apartments and eat western food it will not be cheap.

I am told you can use the yellow book and pink ID card for reporting online, so worth a try. You will find the pink ID card more useful generally than is indicated on this forum. I have used it, inter alia, when entering certain buildings, when identifying myself to the police, and at my local hospital.

Europe's Far-Right Groups Launch Campaign for EU Elections

These groups are mainly centre right, not far right. They are concerned about the breakdown of law and order in their countries following the relaxation of immigration controls. -

Ignorant rubbish. Weed induces calm, not violence. This case is more likely one involving alcohol and crystal meth. -
Five Arrested in Patong Stabbing of British Man

As others have said, in that area at 4.40 in the morning there is a lot of potential for trouble, mainly down to alcoholic excess. -
Too early to say. Thaksin is behind the proposal to re-criminalize. As he has done in the past he may have over-estimated his importance in the Thai hierarchy. Many top people heve invested in the cannabis business recently.

Thailand's reversal on cannabis serves as a warning
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Misleading headline. It's not yet a reversal. I note that the USA is today relaxing reguiatory control of cannabis use, bringing it into line with sevaral orher western countries. Sensible and civilised. Hopefully Thailand will take note.
