  1. Got a 100vac amp I got from Japan. Very easy to buy a 110v step down transformer but not so easy to find 100vac. What do you think Crossy? Would 110v be ok / not damage the electronics? Our power supply here is so variable anyway. The amp is 60w and the power supply is 100w so that's covered. Appreciate the help ????
  2. We eat at Uturn a fair bit. I think they are Cambodian? Lovely family, great food, great prices and close to where we stay ????
  3. Far from a tourist trap. Most untouristy tropical island I've ever been to. No high rise, real village feel and everything so cheap. Infact theirs not much to do but enjoy the natural surroundings
  4. Thanks for that ???? You can walk in and pay for breakfast without staying there? Any idea of cost?
  5. I do think the online only fans etc is and will eventually kill off the bars. Girls seem less interested every year. I can remember years ago a mate of mine saying was like having a bunch of cats rubbing up against you walking into a bar. These days they won't look up from their phone. Probably waiting for someone to request an online show and nip in the dunny for a quick virtual 1000 baht. I saw one chick on only fans....very ordinary overweight village women who had 300 subscribers at $10 us a month. And on top of that premium private shows / videos. Pretty serious coin for not leaving ur house and not getting pawed by some old sweaty fat drunk ( like me ????)
  6. We got a couple of fave restaurants there. Awesome food and cheaper than a city restaurant. Tourist area with country prices...applies to most things there
  7. While we're at it, hotel we normally stay great location and everything else but breakfast a bit ordinary. Can anyone recommend a good buffet breaky somewhere?
  8. Actually it popped up on our Facebook a couple of weeks ago as a memory on Facebook from two years ago when we would have been there about when you said. The water / beach was pretty ordinary then too and weather overcast most days.
  9. I think last time we came high season just after Covid was like a ghost town. No one on the beach and so many businesses boarded up
  10. Anyone live there have any idea if it is a busy time or not? We don't like the crowds ????
  11. Reminds me of living in several villages here, always a village lao khao drunk. Usually dressed in his Sunday best, hair dyed like he's still a bit of a catch and the village playboy. Wandering the sois with a big watermelon eating grin, biting people for 20 baht....hoping no one will notice lol ????
  12. I got an app has all the latest news feeds in Thailand (if you can call it that lol). Asean now posts pop up in that. I wouldn't be purposefully looking for any info or life tips in Glamma's posts 5555. Poor bugger, at least he's positive and refuses to be offended
  13. Lol. I can assure you I don't read them. Take some pills and go.have a lay down. Stop.wasting your life writing out these endless, meaningless scribes. You're welcome ????
  14. I hate that I have to scroll through your drivel everyday just to check on any visa changes, news etc. Have you considered seeing a professional? I pity anyone unlucky enough to have to live with you ????
  15. I use a margarine I buy from Makro in 1kg packs....brand is Blue Band. Has a really nice buttery taste and excellent for cooking. Usually near the mayo area. Was 60 baht a couple of years recently increased to 110 baht. Recipe Jeff the Chef uses exactly the same as mine but I just do mine in the mixer. Crumb the butter and flour first on low. Then add water a little at a time until dough pulling cleanly away from the bowl and nice and pliable. I use the dough for the casings of my pies and puff pastry on top
  16. Makro sell frozen puff pastry sheets, very good too. Usually near the bread / bakery area in the freezer. If you want a basic pie crust recipe pm me. Very easy to make....flour, butter, water. Got a great aussie meat pie filling recipe too ????
  17. I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you
  18. Thanks so much guys, have a pretty good picture of when and where I want to go now. Probably plan trip for November. Thanks all for your help
  19. Just following up. Received the adjustable power pack today and works like a charm ???? You are a lifesaver. Not a light flimsy electronic thing either. Feels like a proper copper wound trx. Will definitely buy another one in a different range. I am always looking for odd voltage power supplies and generally they are expensive, if you can find one at all. Thank you so much again ????
  20. I'd suggest we all ignore his comments. With a user name like that and his horrible comments he is one of those people hiding behind a keyboard who feeds off peoples misery and is just putting bait comments out to get a reaction. Too many like that on AN in fact possibly in the majority. Many others running daily polls on what color Tie everyone is wearing today or if they wear their collar up or down. I often wonder why admin don't immediately shunt people like this. It can't be good for the overall prosperity of the forum. No wonder the forum in the last few years has been put up for sale several times.
  21. Yaya, Bella (Ranee Campen), Davika, Mario Mauer, Nadech, Sunny, Louis Scott, Willy McKintosh, Chompoo, Baifern ... all in the top 15 of Thai / actors and are mixed race. Any Thai person would instantly recognize any of these names. To say Thai people shun mixed race kids is just pure fiction. I was single with my son when he was a baby and I am sure many of the girls I dated were more interested in my son than me lol. It would be a status symbol for them to have a mixed race kid. I even had Thai people asking me if they could "take care" of my son. Anyone here that has a mixed race kid would have experienced the same thing. Always a source of amazement to me as Thais themselves have to be some of the most good looking people in the world yet seem to have a bit of inferiority complex regarding looks.
  22. I have a Thai son. His mother was very dark skinned in fact her nickname in the village was "lair", derogatory term for very dark. My son has very caucasian features and very fair skinned. Looks nothing like his mother apart from the dark brown eyes. I have never seen a "leuk kreung" kid here with say blue eyes or green so don't expect that. Some have lighter brown eyes. Funny my kids appearance is 100% European but underneath he is Thai 100% lol. All the traits (good and bad lol) Loves spicy Thai food, village food. I am guessing maybe you are a little concerned the child maybe not yours and you should be quietly concerned. It does happen here particularly if you are living in her home village where there would be plenty of old husbands, boyfriends and temptations. I have heard Thais discussing some unaware farangs kid thinking the guy was stupid for accepting a kid that clearly wasn't his. The Thais seem to know what's what in this regard. My poor Mrs got the opposite. No one believed my son came from my missus lol. Anyway, I have seen plenty of mixed race kids and some have more predominant Thai features and others Euro. I think you would know though there should be some Euro facial or body features to suggest the child is yours. If the child does look 100% Asian and you have doubts you should get a DNA test. I know it is a difficult thing to suggest to his mother etc but better to find out now than later. Maybe you only need a hair sample or something and the mother doesn't have to know. I had a child back home with a very promiscuous wife and was always a doubt for me and not nice to live with. If you are just concerned with the looks many half Thai kids are exceptionally good looking but its not a given. In any case if it is your child you will love, adore and cherish the child the moment you lay eyes on them ????
  23. We may be better off flying up and just stay based in the city. Is the city center spread out or walkable? Thanks for your reply
  24. Thanks for your detailed useless SA reply
