It would be more accurate to say that NATO has been 'drawn' Eastward. The first aim of the newly free Eastern countries was to do everything they could to avoid being dominated by SU/Russia again. That was a strong motivation for joining NATO and the EU. That's the key reason: no neighbouring country (unless ruled by an autocrat) is attracted by the failed Russian model. Russia is not attractive, it's repulsive!

Why not the musical chairs method? What a bunch of clowns... -
Trump gave Talibans all they wanted, starting with negotiating directly with them without involving the Afghan government, He withdrew most U.S. troops, liberated 5000 Afghan terrorists while the Taliban did not do their part of the deal. His peace plan for Palestine (not the Abraham Accord which was not a peace plan) was negotiated only with Netanayahu (same m.o., why negotiate with the two opposing parties, It's so simple to negotiate only with one! 😃). Netanyahu was so happy about it that he wanted to annex the territories in advance without waiting for the end of the committee's work.

Trump’s Border Czar Details Deportation Plan, Refutes Liberal Concerns

It will induce inflation in several ways (in case Trump does what he promised to do), taking into account that unemployment is already low, and that the number of U.S. born joining the job market is lower than the number of baby boomers retiring. There 's a gap of around 2 millions per year. - in order to fill vacant positions, wages will go up, so farmers and the agro-business in general will have to increase prices in order to survive, - in case the agro-business succeeds to attract American workers to what are mainly <deleted> jobs, the non agro businesses may have to increase wages to keep their current employees, - if they cannot attract American workers, agro output will decrease, which will also fuel inflation. And, of course, at the same time, prices of imported good will increase because of higher tarifs (again, if Trump does what he said). -

The big surge in Fentanyl deaths occured under Trump. https://nida.nih.gov/research-topics/trends-statistics/overdose-death-rates#Fig2 Oh, and illegal immigrants are not the main way to smuggle drugs to the U.S. Most of it goes through legal ports of entry. -
Russia has already escalated and there is not much left for him to escalate. On top of it, Russia's weapon stock is not infinite. The other aspect is that Putin won't escalate enough to spoil his chances to get an advantageous peace agreement from Trump. Having said that, you are right that it should have been stopped in 2014, before Russia had enough time to prepare for a full invasion. But Obama and other Western governments completely underestimated the Russian threat at that time.

Trump Begins Intelligence Briefings Ahead of Return to White House

Will he ask Putin whether the U.S. intelligence services are telling the truth or not? 😃 -
Trump has a big gob, but He's weak. 😃 He was weak with the Talibans, he was weak with Kim, he was week with Netanyahu. Netanyahu was so happy with his peace plan for Palestine that he wanted to start annexing territories in the West Bank before the committee even finished to discuss it. Putin must be impatient to see Trumpnin office, as it will be Chistmas for him!
