  1. I would smack my child for stealing. Better that than prison later. I don't know what the big hoo Haa is about. If you think that is bad. Just how nice do you all think it's going to be in a Thai boys orphanage.

His aunt is probably doing the best she can with very little family support or money.

I hope he is sent back to her soon. I am sure she would be the better option of the two places. Most thai know that also. That's why they don't interfere.

Wouldn't you agree, that there is a slight difference between a smack and what happened to this little fella?!

If THAT is "doing the best she can", she really has to try harder!
The more times I read your mail, the more I find it mindnumbingly stupid.

  2. I was thinking all the time, where I have seen a similar scenario before.

Suthep- marching through Bangkok, on a route, unknown to anyone before and a "grenade" was thrown at him (well...kind of...more like 100 meters behind him) and ...voila...there is a red shirt- weapons depot, ID cards, red-shirts and all...

    Why am I not convinced?

Because this never happened ".there is a red shirt- weapons depot, ID cards, red-shirts and all..." and the grenade was real.

Looks like you are purposefully trying to not be convinced.

    Yep...it didn't happen!

One of the first articles that pop up, when you google "suthep bangkok march grenade", there is another by BP.

They all said, that there was a stockpile of weapons, linked to reds at first and later totally dis- proven.

The fact, that they backpaddled later, doesn't mean "it didn't happen"!

I can not be arsed to look for it, but I recall the red- shirt memorabilia and the ID card quiet well.

And I am not that old.

All articles relating to that stockpile of weapons only mentions a "red cap" (not a UDD cap, just red in colour). Nothing else "red" is mentioned.

You may not be old, but maybe it's an early onset thing.

I am looking for articles, more specific...fortunately I have a job, so it may take some time.

But let me ask you: not "a cap", not a "baseball cap"...a "red cap" and that has no implication, whatsoever...right?!

  4. Sean explained his social networking post.

There's no reason to believe the taxi driver claim. I find that claim to be ludicrous. People seem to think that there are ultra-powerful people on the island with unlimited resources, if that was true simply being told what to say should suffice to get the desired result. Certainly if it were true nobody would come forward to admit the coercion.

Haven't you claimed to be working with Reprieve or the defense and also to have a personal reason to dislike the RTP?

There is no reason to believe that claim, because you find it ludicrous!

    Ok, that settles that then.

  5. Junta Spokesperson Admits to Detaining Missing Woman

    By Khaosod English

BANGKOK — The spokesperson for Thailand’s military junta admitted today that the army detained a woman who went missing six days ago, explaining yesterday’s denial as a "lack of communication" between different military units.

The spokesperson, Col. Winthai Suwaree, said the initial denial was based on information from the junta’s security wing, the Armed Forces for Maintaining Peace and Order (AFMPO), which said the woman was not in military custody.

However, he later learned that Nattathida Meewangpla, 36, was being held by another unit, which he did not specify by name.

Nattathida’s relatives told Khaosod over the weekend that five soldiers arrested her at her home on 11 March. According to her relatives, the soldiers did not provide any information for the arrest.

Nattathida was not heard from or seen until today, six days later, when she was transferred to police custody for her alleged connection to a “terrorism network” that organized a grenade attack at the Criminal Court earlier this month.

  7. its not porn if nipples are covered, so no its not illegal.

    mind your own business....

they (who ever "they" are) take this thai culture thing way to seriously

in everyday life I see next to no thai culture that "they" deem so important coffee1.gif

I have seen many experts on here but you appear to be the first porno expert.

This is Thailand, not Farang land, and even if they want to take their culture seriously, then that is their prerogative. So a suggestion, just follow your own advise.

The guy is from the Culture Ministry and made no mention, as far as I can see, of Thai Culture, just indicated that those posting may be in violation of the Computer Crimes Act. He also indicated it would not be accepted in society and this is sustained by a Thai women, who also referred to Thai society, not Thai culture.

The only places you would see next to no Thai culture in everyday life would be the bars all over Thailand. Either this is where you spend most of your time or you walk around with your eyes closed. Which is it?

Just asking, but did you read the same media release that I did on TV because it you did then why have you referred to culture when there was no reference made in that regard?

Of course there had to be one to justify and defend this bovine excrement!

...and before you are accusing others of not reading thoroughly enough: the "guy" that "is from the Culture Ministry"...is a lady!

  9. A Thai couldn't do this.

Correct, most could barely stretch an A-cup laugh.png

Has the "Culture Ministry" know of the existence of Patpong, Nana, Walking street. etc? Or are these not 'public places'. Absolutely the worst thing in this country is the hypocrisy.

Neither Patpong nor Nana Plaza are public places, they're both privately owned areas. As are all the bars in Walking Street.

As is everybody's facebook -page or eMail account!

  10. It will do good for him.

That belly of his needs some exercise and walking is the best.

The guys son was killed allegedly by the army, and this is the best you can come up with??

    Shame on you!!

And yes, unlike the Greeks, the Thais can afford food!!coffee1.gif

Don't pretend that this is anything more than a gimmick.

Do you think that if his son had been killed by a drunken motorist he would be protesting at the Samsong or Chang headquarters about alcohol consumption?

You see no difference and nuance there?

Accident under the influence- ordered shooting of unarmed civilians...just for starters?
