  1. Where, where, where. Several maybe open, but NOT operating as go-go bars.
  2. I've just double checked in my frig, twice... It's definitely 500g I've also bought the same at one of the expat shops, can't remember where and the price..foodmart, next to Jomtien bus stop..
  3. That same cheese is 235 baht in food mart... Was 215 baht until recently. The prices are rigged in Pattaya, no competition in the supermarket.. Most of the stuff is priced the same, or very close to 7-11 prices.. The bakery prices in Big C increase very regularly, big increases, not just 2 baht..
  4. Yes, many other scams in Phuket, plus lady boy pick pockets etc.. Pattaya is far far cheaper and safer.. I live in Pattaya 5 yrs.
  5. Me and many others who live close to his former restaurant, are very very glad that he has gone.. His very noisy motorbike at all hours of the day and night, was hugely annoying.. Karma, I guess.. 5555
  6. Yes, I agree.. Putting people in types of class is totally ignorant and pointless..
  7. I can't see anywhere in Philippines being better than Thailand. At least Thailand is safe, for a start, but as said, it depends what you like doing. Thai beaches and nightlife is far far better for a start..
  8. Wow..... What a great idea... I live in Pattaya. It's so sad seeing the devastation ca used by covid Lockdowns .
  9. Tipping is an American habit. It's not needed in Thailand. I tip the girls in bar and very occasionally elsewhere, that's all..
  10. Yeah, two legged crumpet... Very nice and tasty.
  11. Same same... Im from NZ, but don't like the crumpets from the expat shops..
  12. Your question was answered.. It's two months before, then 3 months after. Renewal is no different to the first application.
  13. Yes, that is exactly why it's like that.. Because of expats in the past, who have been unable to pay for their hospital care. Many don't even have funds to go back home, if they get sick..
  14. I agree with most of your thoughts. I'm also an expat, retired here for 5+ years.. I think the biggest problem with retirees, is that many come here with minimal funds, if the exchange rates drop, they get sick or have accident while not sufficiently ensured.. They cause major problems for themselves and the authorities.. Too many guys complain about things here and make excuses for themselves. We all get 40+ years to save for retirement... It's not the fault of Thai govt if you haven't prepared well, for retirement..
  15. Thanks very much Dr Jack. I will go to my bank tomorrow. Go to immigration on Wednesday, when not so busy..
  16. I'm doing the 800k in bank, this year for my non O. What does my bank letter need to say.. Or can I just show Chonburi Immi My updated passbook.. ???
  17. Great... Thanks.. What about if I do any small trips away from Thailand. Say two weeks, then return.
  18. Yes, but after 15 yrs in Thailand, they continue to make it very difficult for him to stay in Thailand. As we age, we want things to become more simple, not a problem each year with renewing visa and 90day reports. I've only done 5 yrs in Thailand, I've invested a bit more than that guy here.. At this stage, I'm not ready to leave, but in future years, I hope they make it easier to stay here.. NOT harder..
  19. Joe, I am about to renew my non O based on retirement, by 28 November. I have NZ passport ,I'm 70yrs old, and I will leave 800,000 in my Thai bank account. At this stage while vivid remains.. I don't intend to leave Thailand.. Will I need to purchase any vivid insurance, to renew my visa???
