  1. I think so..your right.. ...it's not worth the principle ..but some wouldn't pay I know ,
  2. Now you hail a baht bus going to Jomtien, you are the only one in it. Just after that overhead bridge up the hill going ( don't know the name) but has small soccer sports court under it. The bus stops for 6 indian guys , they talk to him and jump in the back. He jumps out and approaches you as you sit in the back and says they are going in a different direction and tells you to pay 10b for that short ride, and can catch another one. Do you pay the 10 baht and jump out ?
  3. Sounds a bit discriminatory, but as Nirun residents don't read ASEAN forum , who cares ????
  4. Not actually correct You actually " value ' your items more if you have one of each item Give you an example, today I threw all my tea towels out and kept one ! Couldn't be bothered taking them down the lift to the garbage room so just threwvthem all out the window! Now I have kept ONE coloured tea towel and hung it on the stove . I have washed it and iron it neatly folding it up and hanging it in the stove railing ready for use
  5. All you need is a bed , wardrobe, rug ,chair for your house Deoderants , toothpaste, toothbrush ,comb , Small amount of clothes that's all you need Of course a mobile phone You don't need all this other stuff , expensive perfumes , brand name shoes etc
  6. Get rid of those boxes of documents, you can scan them nowadays can't you ? Why have them
  7. Ever since I have come back from Pattaya I have spent my non working days "decluttering" I have gone over every drawer chucking out stuff I don't need I have absolutely no idea why but I dreamed when I was in Pattaya that's the very first thing I will do when I get home to Australia Even I didn't want to throw my old clothes out and I hesitated so I just threw it out the window on my level 32 balcony here in Sydney Australia ,I have no idea where it landed and I don't care ,it's out of my life ! My dream eventually is to sell up and move to a small 1 house in isaan in the country side Thailand and have no clutter to live as a minimalist , not even a fridge Just a mat on the floor , a small drawer and not even a tv How many of you live in cluttered rooms full of junk
  8. Well that all depends on where the gym is in Pattaya and you make a great point about exactly who the customers will be .
  9. Yes , it's not easy living on a pension there and no free medical. If you have low cost housing in NZ then obviously you are not going to give that up
  10. Yes people here have only been to Manila & Angeles City and come back with a negative opinion about the Philippines!!! I it was terrible they say, nothing like Thailand in which most mean Pattaya . Stay away from Angeles City and head to Cebu , Boracay,Palawan , Duamegette,Baguio
  11. A lot of crime against farangs you don't hear about
  12. Good on you for coming out mate , I hope there is no homophobic comments.
  13. Ahh the Philippines, love Mactan island Cebu Duamegette,Palawan & Davao City ???? Hate Angeles City ????
  14. Love to hear your story again , I can't remember exactly,I know you separated from a Thai lady up north if I remember correctly?
  15. Yes people I notice tend to want to disagree with you if you post and they make up BS I believe. So they wrote they were away 7 years from Australia and still got it( pension) on arrival, whether they did ,how they did ,who knows? Some just want to post to disagree with you even if it's not true. Do I believe them,no !!
  16. You can apply from 67 So I guess from 65 you have the 2 years residency I don't know you hear so many BS stories ,I posted about this question and got posters writing they were away 7 years and still got it etc etc so whether they are BS I don't know
  17. Now your in new Zealand, any regrets ? What would you do differently ????
  18. Wow ! So you met your current wife (Thai) on a holiday to Thailand with your now ex wife?
  19. What business will you be turning it into ?
  20. On my recent visit I checked out several Pattaya gyms , 3 were for sale. Whilst I have no business experience in Pattaya I was very much thinking of leaving my job in Australia and buying a Pattaya gym Unfortunately one guy didn't have financial books , all his machine were very old I would have to spend money on more and he wouldn't budge on his asking price, but I would have to install a shower as he had none ,another was very desperate to sell and rang me when I got back to Australia to say I can have 100k off his 3 million asking price and can move in tommrrw if I want, I thought great until I saw his high monthly rent plus .. yes key money and knew no way he was making any money . Unfortunately there seems to be no direct debit in Thailand. So my question to you is in Pattaya what do you look for in a gym? It appears Air con is number 1 going by my questions to some gym goers ,is that important? What about machines? What machine do you want there? Many gyms are crowded at 5pm and machines are taken up,is multiple machines important? What about lockers ? How important is shower facilities? What about towel hire? I notices in my Pattaya gym travels some didn't even bother to enforce the towel policy of Western gyms where you must have a towel ! Is 24 hour important to you? Personal trainers? But he honest is pricing important? I know jomtien gyms are charging from 1400 to 1800 baht per month
  21. Theres a house owned by farang just near the Arcadia beach resort condos in Pattaya that has a construction site next to it ,they are building another condo. The balconies will overlook his backyard
  22. I wonder ....how many of you would go back to farangland now after a few years away if your ex said come back your welcome!!
  23. Did you leave your kids, wife behind, walked out ? Any regrets ? Any trauma from this?
