  1. A PM Prayut deal made in 2014 - Chinese cash in exchange for rice and rubber.
  2. That would require China to lend more money to Thailand as it financed 100%. But China's domestic economy is suffering too. Thus, the pressure to vampire the project to begin producing revenue and paying China principle and interest on its loan.
  3. Would you include army conscripts in such benefits? Would you include "common people" having no specialized training or higher education? 83.5 per cent of the workforce in Thailand is unskilled. https://www.thailand-business-news.com/asean/52226-83-5-per-cent-workforce-thailand-unskilled
  4. Thailand is a country that entered into a formal alliance with Japan in 1941 to avoid being invaded. Just wash and repeat every perceived threatening nation.
  5. More than an "aggregate" of 180 days a year. Having gaps in your stay won't exempt you.
  6. Tell the band members they will be deported. But ask them where they want to be sent, pending destination nations agree? Within Southeast Asia itself there might be places agreeable for deportation such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia. Maybe they can get legal gigs to help sustain cost of living. Some members might be accepted to Israel.
  7. This is where resident expats help the nation with transfer of their higher value currencies into Thailand that will promote higher consumer spending - a major factor in GDP rate.
  8. In other news Jan. 30, 2024: "PM explains his stand on retaining ISOC" "Minister Srettha Thavisin on Thursday rejected criticism by certain media outlets that he was a puppet of the Pheu Thai Party and the Shinawatra family for not dissolving the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) board." https://nationthailand.com ISOC is the political arm of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. In June 2007, the junta approved a draft national security bill which gave ISOC sweeping powers to handle "new forms of threats" to the country. This gave ISOC sweeping new powers to allow the ISOC chief to implement security measures, such as searches without seeking prime ministerial approval. ISOC doesn't have to listen to young people nor allow their participation in politics.
  9. Did someone miss the concept that Mexico is a sovereign country? Mexico controls its borders of who enters Mexico, ie., from the US. So while the US under this bill can forcibly send migrants back to Mexico, Mexico has the right to say NO. Or limit by whatever Mexico's policies apply of who and how many migrants are returned by the US.
  10. When you Google "Igor Vladimirovich" you get Russians.
  11. Maybe that PM Srettha meeting with an acknowledged democratic state sich as Germany doesn't make Thailand a democratic state.
  12. There may be something to your suspicions. "Private hospitals under fire as government cracks down on skyrocketing costs" https://thethaiger.com Mitch Connor Published: 13:12, 09 December 2023| Updated: 13:27, 09 December 2023 "The Internal Trade Department tightens control on private hospitals, urging them to play ball in the battle against soaring medical expenses. The govern- ment demands transparency and cooperation from over 300 private medical institutions." Failure or reluctance to comply likely indicates pricing abuse. Personally I found with one drug a 100-300% price variation between private hospitals. Compared to government hospitals perhaps even higher.
  13. "Over a year since the sinking, the Navy is yet to disclose its own findings about the cause of the ship’s loss." How to save face with incompetence? Get China to search the craft and present an excuse that would avoid embarrassing the Thai navy. And China can search for US tech in the ship and be motivated to deliver the Thai navy's submarine at a lower price than original purchase?
  14. Might fall under #4: decentralization of authorities. For example the breakup of RTP currently organized soley under the national police commission into civilian autonomous semi-districts, districts, provinces and then national government. Funding (ie., taxation) would follow accordingly. Decentralization also makes quick military coup control over the police force much more difficult.
  15. Interesting that Steinmeier's praise is not in quotes as one would find when referring to a person's actual remark. Instead what we see is the above statement again without quotes that would confirm "praise" was actually spoken by Steinmeir. It wasn't. From X (Twitter) by dpa International: "German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier praise the steps taken to strengthen democracy in Thailand under the new civilian government as positive progress during his visit to the country." (my bold and quotations) 1:13 AM · Jan 26, 2024 Headline day before Jan. 25 from dpa: German president applauds democratic progress in Thailand https://news.yahoo.com Unquoted: German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier praised the steps taken to strengthen democracy in Thailand under the new civilian government as positive progress during his visit to the country. Quoted: "After just a few months in power, you can't expect everything to change. But the signals we have seen so far are very encouraging," Steinmeier said in Bangkok on Thursday.
  16. That's Srettha projecting the effect of Germany investing in EV sector in Thailand. Not Germany who likely expects its investment to return profitable income. Whether Thailand becomes an EV hub would be irrelevant to Germany. What is relevant is the future of EV manufacturing not onlyin Thailand but in Indoneasia, Malaysia and Vietnam. Tesla is already in Malaysia along with Chinese Geely. VinFast in Vietnam was recently listed on the US Nasdaq.
  17. Biden. Unemployment rates down to 3.6% 2023 deficit reduced by $320 billion 2024 deficit forecast to reduce by $1.7 trillion 13 million new jobs including 800,000 manufacturing jobs Infrastructure funding added 35,000 new projects Inflation-adjusted income up 3.5%

  19. I would add Sumitivej Sukhumvit Hospital for same specialties.
  20. Remember that in July 2019 PM Prayut broke from tradition by taking over management of DSI. Prayut had the purview for broad authority over DSI investigations and handling of criminal cases. Traditionally DSI was led by appointees and operated under the Justice Ministry. Reported by Coconuts Bangkok, July 30, 2019
  21. Facts are subjective relative to application and degree of error versus government political statements having no foundation other than hopes.
  22. Standard in Thailand is a to jump off a balcony or rooftop. "remote durian orchard on Koh Samui" is not standard for a foreign tourist. Did the man walk into the orchard carrying wire ties to secure his hands behind back and carry a stool? Why cover face and to do so before tying hands behind back? No auto or motorbike present? Hopefully a full forensic search of the area will be done as well as interviewing possible witnesses to the passage of the victim and accomplices.
  23. All "stumbling blocks" should be dissolved.
