Immigration Police Conduct Operation in Bangkok's Silom Area
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
"the agent, identified as Gunalan Deivasigamani (Guna) aged 23, and Sundaravel Pragadeesh Kumar (Kuma) aged 26, were coordinating with the six Myanmar nationals. " A step in the right direction going after trafficking facilitators but there are Thailand resident business owners who are financing the trafficking of workers for ill-gotten profits. Rare it seems that owners are identified and prosecuted. -
Just curious. What do you call it when a military coup abolishes the Constitution - amnesty?

Thai PM announces stimulus measures amidst economic crisis
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Hasn't since 2014 that demonstrates failure in the underlying structural system. As in freedom of speech - yes. But in terms of actually structuring a sustaining progressive economic revival, only BoT cites the true issues. Government Hopes and Encouragement (aka "cheerleading") is not a viable strategic plan. I would again ask the government to put its economic experts to the forefront to engage with BoT to develop specific structural, achievable economic changes for a better future. Not politicians. -

In 2022 Australia ranked 12th as one of the world's largest economies and 20th in the list of the world's richest countries. As per www.world data.info As of 2023 Australia was ranked 14th by nominal GDP, 19th by PPP-adjusted GDP, 21st largest goods exporter, 24th largest goods importer. In 2024 Australian unemployment remains low, output above potential, housing prices picking up. www.imf.org Certainly not on par with the US but an economy in control. -
German president’s state visit to Thailand after 22 years sparks hope
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
However, PM Prayut and his Foreign Minister did hold talks with Chancellor Merkel in Germany in 2018 to elevate Thailand-Germany relations for industry, research and human relations development. Both countries have a parliamentary system of government in which the Prime Minister is head of state. But the German president (re-elected in 2022) has authority to act politically, especially in international relations. I suspect that the German president will co-op with the German chancellor on any deals with Thailand where the Bundestag is concerned. -

It's an EU ban that would apply to Germany. The US itself has a ban that, I'm sure, expects EU nations to respect. Especially with China's general support in Russia's war with Ukraine. However, I can see political leverage the EU and US can apply pressure on China to minimize any zeal China has towards supporting Russia's war in relaxing done of the ban. -

Certain political parties want to see the Constitutional Court ban what might be termed Opposition parties (to pro-military coalition parties)/Progressive Democratic Parties. Why such an idea that in a constitutional monarchy state exists may be found in the Venice Commission's "Guidelines on Prohibition and Dissolution of Political Parties and Analogous Measures" dated December 11, 1999. https://www.venice.coe.int/webforms/documents/default.aspx?pdffile=CDL-INF(2000)001-e Of the 61 Member States and 4 Observer States to the Venice Commission guess who isn't a Member: Thailand. https://www.venice.coe.int/WebForms/members/countries.aspx?lang=EN No States within South East Asia either. -

Maybe be used as a ferry or tourist attraction on the Chao Phraya River. -
Don't let this project become another local and national issue like the construction of housing for judges on the forested foothills of Chiang Mai's Doi Suthep mountain through a donation by the Military without any public review of the project. There the 1,250 protesters focused on environmental issues having been ignored in the transfer of land possessed by the military. Just as the local community was ignored in PM Prayut's creation of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). You otherwise continue to associate yourselves with military prerogatives.

Surge in Covid-19 infections and rising death toll in Thailand

Your flu vaccination 3 years ago Likely won't protect you now. That's the nature of viruses - they continously mutate, sometimes for the worse. That's science. -
What is meant by an "Israeli man?" "The State of Israel maintains a national population registry in which every resident is classified by both "citizenship" and "nationality. The citizenship of all Israelis is listed as "Israeli." However, under "nationality," they are defined as belonging to different ethnic and religious groups, among them Jewish, Arab, and Druze." In an October 2013 decision, the Israeli Supreme Court denied the request to recognize "Israeli" as a nationality, and gave several essential reasons for supporting a specific "Jewish" nationality over a general "Israeli" nationality. Opposition believes Srettha government lacks a strategy

Simply put ... what ever strategy former PM Prayut wanted but never delivered. -
A very few times that happened to me, the cashier would look at me first for a response ... so up to me to decide. More often I will ask a Thai behind me (and no one else) with one or two shopping items cut in when I have a cart full of items. It usually confuses them.

Not surprised if Russians. Moscow Times, April 2, 2019: More than one-fifth of Russian households do not have access to indoor plumbing, according to official statistics obtained by the RBC news website on Tuesday. Russia leads the developed world with the worst sanitation record, according to the London-based WaterAid NGO. A 2012 estimate citing official data placed the number of Russians whose households are only equipped with outhouses at 35 million, or roughly a quarter of the population.
