Survival will require more than bring able to be food independent during nuclear winters. The biggest world economies will collapse, meaning little to no foreign imports, especially regarding energy, technology, industry, manufacturing materials, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, livestock supplies, pesticides, etc. SE Asia nations and Pacific islands would be very vulnerable even if able to feed their own populations. Even agriculture might be impacted from blights, mutations, drought. Realistically, there will be only degrees of safety that itself may become terminal.

Thailand gov urges bank to cut interest rate amid economic crisis

The process should not be driven by political posturing but by economic foundations. The Central Bank is not a Cabinet ministry. -

Aircraft operated by a Vietnamese airline based in Hanoi is likely registered in Vietnam. Under the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness, a birth on a ship or aircraft in international waters or airspace shall be treated as a birth in the country of the ship or aircraft's registration. https://best-citizenships.com So this child is Vietnamese. Will Thailand allow it to enter Thailand visa-free? What about entry under guardianship by the Thai mother? But formal legality might require mother to get dual citizenship for the child to bypass alien residency issues. -

Then in exchange reduce the RTAF FY 2025 budget by the same amount. The military is not a sovereign entity separate from the Kingdom of Thailand under the Constitution. It belongs to The Thai People. -
1% is typical but given the baht volatility best to use credit/debit cards from more stable international currencies such as USD if you have a choice. Otherwise carry a lot of baht cash.

So apparently such criminal activities have not been a previous priority? Too focused on illegal late bar closures and civilian drunks? Or such criminal activities have benefited from "protection" that the new government ministry sees as an opportunity to investigate in line with its populist law & order theme.

Former PM Prayut did both a rice and rubber pledge scheme and not prosecuted. The difference - Yingluck was not backed by the Prayut military coup that overthrew her government. Goose and Gander. Expunge her conviction as selective prosecution.

Train option? If you take Special Express No. 10 that leaves Chiang Mai at 6:00pm in the evening of day one, and then catch Special Express No. 43 in Bangkok at 8:10am on the morning of day two, you will arrive in Hua Hin at 12:05pm. This is 18 hours after you have left Chiang Mai. https://www.thaitrainguide.com/routes/chiang-mai-to-hua-hin/ Rent a car in HH or taxi around.

2 Chinese men arrested at Bangkok airport for fake Canadian passports
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Canada has been very open to Chinese immigration especially through political asylum (language & passport not required). Given Sri Lanka's close economic relationship with China, I can see using Chinese passports into and out of Sri Lanka to Thailand where they hoped to travel on the fake passports to Canada. Obviously, traveling from China to Taiwan to Canada would be the shortest route but perhaps monitored closely by the CCP. Why not just continue to use their valid Chinese passports through Thailand to Canada? Just one guess is that a Canadian visa would be required in advance that might not be approved or the CCP might learn what might be viewed as an escape from China and order their return. Thailand in the past has been "sensitive" to such requests. -
Manufacturing production index dips in Thailand amid economic challenges
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just dreams and asperations. Exports and Consumer Spending are the main sectors for GDP, tourism is a low value sub-sector. The PM recognizes more FTA's are needed to that end. But with manufacturing slowing and domestic consumption dragging (in part due to years of unrestrained government debt increases and NPL's, Chinese product dumping), Thailand will need several years to make significant GDP gains, especially through new FTA's. -

Thailand’s aviation hub plans receive airline approval despite concerns
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The problem is that financing the new airport at a time when Thailand's chief infrastructure funding source China is having its own domestic budget issues and the Thai government has already delayed its budget submission for 2024/2025. -
I agree. The driver didn't deserve the nominal payment from RTP but apparently continuing the conflict was more important to the driver than resolution.

Thai defence ministry to resolve submarine procurement issue soon
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Read again, not an option and never was. As Thailand already made a downpayment and obligated Thailand for all the installment payments during PM Prayut regime, built a sub dock and training center, recruited a submariner crew prepared for training and rejected offer to substitute a Chinese frigate for the sub, time is really of the essence to complete purchase and delivery. -

Score! Combined population almost 70 million, just somewhat less than Thailand - 71 million. The customs union’s main imports from the rest of the world include value-added manufactured products (e.g. machinery, electrical equipment; and vehicles). https://www.tralac.org/blog/article/13807-southern-african-customs-union-sacu-s-trade-and-tariff-profile.html Major export products for Thailand.
