  1. Cost of fuel. Oil/gas are imported so weaker baht translates into higher energy costs.
  2. Get yourself some good THC gummies as a sleep aid. CBD oil isn't going to do it.
  3. Use the ATMs at the This is the way.
  4. No, the other poster is stating that his experience didn't match your experience. (IIRC - internet abbreviation for "If I recall correctly".)
  5. Theoretically speaking, if there was a bar nearby - with theoretical bar girls in said theoretical bar - one could theoretically pay one of them a couple of hundred baht to go buy the SIM card for you.
  6. He's way ahead of you, he used that line again in the same speech: "That's the truth, now don't make a lie,' he continued. 'As that scene in the John Wayne movie, don't make me a dog-faced lying pony soldier.' He had previously deployed a similar line at a 2020 campaign event in New Hampshire - a bizarre moment that went viral. He then told the group 'God save the queen,' before heading offstage to take pictures with participants." https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12203923/Babbling-Biden-tells-Connecticut-crowd-God-save-queen-man.html
  7. Would have been even funnier if he had said: "God Save the Queen She ain't no human being." https://genius.com/Sex-pistols-god-save-the-queen-lyrics
  8. I could easily enjoy the rest of my days living in Cabo San Lucas......and may do just that. The main drawback is that it has become subject to quite a bit of "Californication" which is one of the main reasons I left the US in the first place.
  9. Nat Hix passed away last December. Nat was a true gentleman, a former FBI employee, a cigar aficionado, and was involved in some regard with the CM Gate Theater group (kinda fuzzy on that one.) One of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet with a terrific sense of humor, so sorry to see him leave us.
  10. Am I misreading your comment about a positive test? That looks to be negative.....positive would be two lines, no?
  11. Inter Express.
  12. Malaysia gives you a 90 day visa exempt entry. Nice place to chill. (Edit: I realize this is posted in the Vietnam sub-forum but I'm relatively certain that VN only gives 30 days entry now.)
  13. I was at CM NH this morning....vaccines began at 08:30 am, not 08:00 am as reported previously.
  14. As OP stated, "Seems like a good way to make money and stay in Thailand long term." He's trying to find a way to live in Thailand that fits within the existing bureaucratic requirements and thus is making a convoluted attempt to justify a business visa.
  15. Did you save the EMS receipt? IIRC, that provides you with an "out" as it proves you submitted the report on time. You'd take the receipt with you to immigration when sorting things out in person.
  16. About a week ago.
  17. As does mine. That's the way to go, if you must use a foreign ATM card.
  18. ATM fee charged by Thai banks is 220 thb. There is no "conversion fee" unless you opt to allow dynamic currency conversion (DCC) by the bank - it's a ripoff and should always be declined. Always refuse the offer for DCC and you will receive the VISA/MC exchange rate, one of the best rates available to consumers. Additionally, your own bank may charge a 1-3% foreign exchange fee, depending upon the terms of your home bank account.
  19. One suspects the OP would have to begin driving Saturday afternoon from his home in Hua Hin to arrive in time for the Sunday roast at Chris's Place in Udon Thani.
  20. Small House Kafe might fit your needs. Now in Hang Dong, used to be on the edge of Santitham. Nice owners, reasonable prices.
  21. Add me to the folks telling you to get a US SIM card for use while in the USA. Virtually no carriers require contracts these days so you won't be locked into anything (unless you want a phone contract to subsidize the cost of a new phone.) You'll have more and cheaper data plans plus the customer service will be better should you encounter any problems. Do you really want to try to obtain assistance from DTAC while in the USA if/when something goes wrong?
