  1. Speaking from experience, as I'm not loaded, there are very many nice ladies. The only problem is that they almost always want total commitment (marriage).
  2. No seller has to accept a low offer. If your condo has been marketed well for a long period and you have received a series of low offers, then maybe, just maybe that is the market value. Still no obligation to accept the offer.
  3. If he's got any sense, he'll let her go. Permanently. He's in the right country to find plenty of nicer female company. Maybe this should be seen as a good opportumity to ditch the b.i.t.c.h!
  4. Yes, phones are allowed, at least I had no problem in April this year. No hassle with using it either but wasn't filming anything. On a previous visit, security didn't even want to let me in with GF as I wasn't the one applying for the Visa.
  5. Ever wondered how much it costs YouTube to maintain the network, install mirror servers, pay for electricity and the gazillions of terrabytes of data storage?
  6. At 159 Baht. Premium is great value for me. Can download videos, films and music for offline consumption. No advertising at all either. Who wouldn't do this if they like watching YouTube content?
  7. There is always a market for something of value at the right price.
  8. How can she be so sure? Let them keep on believing that ????
  9. That would be a nice ride across Malaysia. The possible issue with going to Kota Bharu (other than it would add 100s of KMs) is that it will take the OP through the deep south of Thailand. An interesting area for sure but maybe not advised due to the insurgency there (Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat areas). I went through there in 2000 before the troubles started. It would be unlikely that a foreigner on a bicycle would be targeted but could get caught up in something nasty. According to UK FCO it's advised "against all but essential travel" in those areas. U.S. Department of State also advise: "Reconsider travel to: Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Songkhla provinces due to civil unrest associated with ongoing insurgent activities".
  10. Having done Singapore to Surat Thani by bicycle in year 2000 all along East Coast (and driven the Songkhla/Nakhon Si Thammarat route many times since), I would cross from Chumphon to West Coast and go south via Krabi and Trang. True it is more HILLY, whereas East cost is almost totally flat, West Coast route will be much more scenic IMO. Unless you are in a hurry - but then you'd take a motorised option.
  11. Seeing the forest monks walking barefoot on the roads makes me wonder how they can do it. Hot enough with shoes.
  12. You'd have plenty of time to plan on the route. I wouldn't try to do it all in one day. If anyone saw the YouTuber Walk3r do Bangkok to Cha Am/Hua Hin in 3 days. Why hurry?
  13. If obtaining a new passport overseas, when re-entering Thailand show both passports. Once in Thailand go to immigration to get Visa and Extension of stay transfered to new passport. If re-entry permit is multiple, then immigration will trasnsfer that too. No charge. I'm speaking from experience as this is exactly what I did. Very easy.
  14. But even once in the "museum" at Chuksamet, us farangs will not be allowed to visit. i.e as with the Spanish built aircraft carrier - HTMS Chakri Naruebet
  15. I hear you. I just put away a bottle of Co-Op Irresistibible Pinot Noir (£9) along with dinner (solo). It is 7pm on Friday night here in the UK. Probably won't sleep so great and no shag either (the Mrs is in Cambodia right now). To keep this on-topic, I have never taken, and would not consider, tablets or reefers or edibles to help me sleep. There are more natural ways. I'm only 56 and find that 5-6 hours per night - broken or not, is enough for me to live a fulfilled life. I walked 4kms this morning so time for Zzz...
  16. Alcohol won't work for restful and complete sleep as it disrupts the brain. Best option is lots of activity/excercise during the day, fresh air, healthy eating and a shag before turning the lights out. Works for me.
  17. Clearly the OP is a Newbie (as per their profile). As we all know, just look where the <deleted> you are going!
  18. You forgot to mention the assistance of the pretty young ladies in the bar helping erase his memory. That part, his wife can only guess, or she has already judged him for. Hope he had a good time and it was worth it. Maybe he'll be back to Thailand as a single man in the future...
  19. Unfortunately it is typical of far too many Brits coming to Thailand (I'm one but never had that problem - always found my way home even if "walking like a snake" as GF kindly states ????). It does give us all here on TV/AN something to discuss though.
  20. Sad events at Paragon. RIP those involved. The TAT will surely use that as the reason for any decline in Thai Tourism visitor numbers or revenue. TAT will hide behind the Paragon shootings as the reason when in reality it's the world economy, China imploding, high flight costs and bureaucracy of long stay visas/extensions that will keep people away. It could be argued that travelling to Thailand is as safe, or safer, than being in some western countries.
  21. Exactly. We know why Asians spend fortunes to send their children to international schools or schools and colleges in the west.
  22. Good luck with that. No way will they do it. What about registration? Needs to be registered. Try 50% upfront with balance on pick-up. Bank transfer for deposit. Cash or bank transfer on pick-up. Still think they won't accept but worth a try. Personally, I would be wary of dealing with any dealer who was not helpful and friendly. I bought my ADV150 in 2020 from a dealer in Pathum Thani who has very friendly staff and manager. He wasn't sure about time for registration to a farang as he'd never done before. I gave him a copy of passport, visa, yellow book and pink ID and told him I would not buy unless it was registered. He came back to me a few days later after checking and said no problem. I then paid in full as I trusted him, and sure enough, 2 days later he sent me pictures of the registration and green book in my name. Superb service.
  23. Will immigration accept a screenshot as evidence of 400/800K funds for visa extension of stay?
  24. My guess would be that the system admins of their server haven't configured SPF, DKIM and DMARC so that the emails sent from immigration are likely to be classed as spam. This is regardless of content and a "must do" for any sender of emails if you want them to get delivered (but likely they don't care anyway). One way to check is to inspect properties of an email and it will say whether or not it passed these measures or failed. If failed then a message will almost certainly be treated as junk.
  25. What will be consumed at the pubs? Just soda water? If alcohol (as is customary at pubs) then recipe for disaster.
