If Tommy has more sense, he would head to Thailand and enjoy his life away from all the grief and wokeology in the UK.

Landlord refusing to do TM30 ?
soi3eddie replied to sikishrory's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The are three reasons for not filing a TM30. Landlord is not declaring the rental for tax, landlord is lazy or landlord has some other issue with authorities/ownership of the property. Please, please, all folks here, save yourselves a huge amount of butt hurt by insisting that landlord supplies you with the required and signed copies of their ID card and Blue book before paying the deposit to rent from them. After all, they want a copy of your passport! -
The teachers were paid off. In Tommy's film Silenced, the local council, Kirklees, was approached three times under a freedom of information request. Only on the third request and threat of legal action, did the council supply the info. Turns out that local taxpers funded £274,000 in payments to silence the teachers (25:05 into the film). They were also forced to sign non disclosure orders (NDAs). I suggest to anyone interested that they watch the movie as it's revealing of the cover ups and main stream media tactics too.

TG visiting Ireland with UK tourist visa
soi3eddie replied to Asmoseus_uk's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Enter UK on UK tourist visa and then cross from Northern Ireland to Republic of Ireland. What immigration checks are there? How about flying from mainland UK to Ireland? -
UK State Pension Classed as a Benefit
soi3eddie replied to Eddie45's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
Yes, it is classed as a benefit. Yes, at some point in the future, receiving the state pension will be means tested. The questions are: 1) When? 2) Under what criteria? It is NOT rubbish! The country is broke. Funds for pensions will run out. After paying in for 38 years already (and no end in sight), I, and many will be angry if a UK government does this. Watch the videos below for a warning of what may happen and why.... -
Sorry I can't answer your question. All the towels, Egyptian cotton bed linens, duvets, and pillows in my Bangkok condo were brought from the UK (John Lewis and Soak&Sleep). I just couldn't find the quality in Thailand. Not even in Central.

Technically Northern Irish. Not British. -
half-Thai child moving to Thailand with Thai mom
soi3eddie replied to JimmyB81's topic in Family and Children
Very good advice. Clearly the OP cares deeply for his child. Once the child has gone to Thailand it could be extremly difficult for him to do as planned above. It needs to be formalised in the family court in the UK at least. Right now, I would be securing the child's passport and birth certificate/s (UK and Thai) in order to slow any flight out of the country. Then consult the men's support group for their advice. The child will certainly have a better education and future in the UK. Thankfully this was a not a dilema for me as my son was already in a good UK school at age 11. I still suffered the parental alienation and denied visitation though. If things are cordial now then expect that to change if/when the OP gets another girlfriend/partner. Best to keep that quiet. -
Six Vietnamese Found Dead in Bangkok Hotel Room

All six in one room? No mention of whether it was a suite or apartment or adjoing rooms. Tragic ending. -
Foreigner and Thai woman get into heated argument on BTS (video)
soi3eddie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm British and can tell you that if I was in that carriage, the situation would have escalated. No way for any man to talk to a lady (or a man - would he have said same to a foreign man?). We are blessed in Thailand that the society is almost always polite and considerate. This foreign <deleted> does not deserve to be in Thailand. -
My GF is flying from Bangkok to London next month. For this trip I booked her in EVA (R/T was 35,500 THB) as THAI was a lot more at over 50,000 THB. However, whilst THAI allow seat selection on purchase for free (not exit row seats though), EVA want 2,025 EACH-WAY just to select a Standard seat in advance - that's not a preferred or extra leg room seat! This will be her first time with EVA, so will be interesting to hear what she says how they compare againt THAI and Singapore Airlines.

Thanks. That is very helpful and useful to know. I will try that route for next renewal. Last time, I did the online course twice. Once using PP number and secondly using Pink Card number just to be sure. Rather than wasting 2 hours, I setup a second laptop on my desk and ran the tests on that whilst doing other work on my main laptop.

I've been using Chatuchak DLT since 2017. Always go to Dr Lamduan clinic who is very efficient. Never waited more than 15 minutes. Be advised, if you got your DL using passport number rather than PinkID card then Chatuchak will not accept yellow book - they want letter from embassy or immigration. This is my experience at that office. I now go elsewhere as cannot get letter from embassy anymore (UK stopped it in December 2022) and I rarely ever stay 90 days in Thailand due to travel and business (so don't file 90 day report which is a requirement for residency letter from immigration). I do the online course and print the QR code - Thais like hard copies of documents!

Err not British. Blame the Australians for eggs on burgers.

Fentanyl is a tragedy. Seems to be targeted on the USA by supply of precursor chemicals to Central America/Mexico for production and then delivery of the finished product to the USA. Quite different to a bit of Weed/Ganja/Marijuana sold in Thailand "dispensaries". Of course, Thailand has it's issues with import/sale of Yaa Baa and Yaa Ice but no stories of major Fentanyl problems in Thailand so far. Peter Santenello, a US docujournalist has done many reports on the effects of Fentanyl in communities in the USA.

Thai gf in uk, wanting fast shengen visa
soi3eddie replied to nomad2019's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Have you read the rules on Spain's visa/entry requirements for Thais? IIRC, they will want to see a "long stay/settlement" visa for the UK if applying in the UK, otherwise must be done in home country. At least it was this way some years ago when I wanted a tourist visa to Italy for my Thai wife. For Turkey, Thais don't need a visa to visit as a tourist. -
This in addition to how many other extension of stay forms with name, address etc.? Given that they already will have a bank letter, statement and quite possibly a full copy of bankbook, they know how much money the applicant has on the day of extension. The Thais just love their paperwork, copies and multiple signatures.

Which one do you prefer more? Bolt or Grab
soi3eddie replied to MichaelJackson's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I use both Bolt and Grab in Thailand. Most drivers are on both apps. I find it easier to get a car on Grab as the fares are higher. I beleive, and could be wrong, that drivers prefer taking bookings on Grab as they earn more. Nowadays I avoid the options that will get me a driver in a regular meter taxi - a driver, even in a private Yaris, is always better in my experience. The lady driver option is something we use when my gf is on her own or we are both travelling together. I use motorsi a lot when in Pattaya and find Bolt has more reiders. Grab also works very well for TukTuks in Phnom Penh when we are there. -
Electricity cost for computer running over night?
soi3eddie replied to JeffersLos's topic in The Electrical Forum
I agree with @OneMoreFarang. It really depends on the power of the computer, namely processing power needed and graphics card (if that is used in the farming game) regardless of whether monitor is on or not. I'm currently in the UK and just moved to a new flat. Got a "smart meter" installed. Really useful to see what appliances use most power. Laptops and chargers hardly use any. -
Wanted British Man Arrested Upon Arrival in Phuket
soi3eddie replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Maybe he thought the statute of limitations had passed. -
Not at all hilarious. With WW3 about to break out, I am packing my Go Bag tomorrow. Passport, cash, documents, clothes and anything needed to remain alive in Thailand. Anyone sensible should have a plan. Better to be in SE Asia than in Europe. If things escalate, I'll on on the next plane to Bangkok. Hopefully before thermonuclear war commences.

Not yet been to the new terminal so not sure of the arrangements. Maybe someone else here can advise.
