  1. What will hurt Thailand worse? Legalized Marijuana or Legalized Casinos?
  2. Get some Bayer Quantum. Leave a drop beside the kettle. If they ants come eat it they will kill off the nest. Takes a day or 2. At first you will see more ants as they come to feed. You can leave it on a small peice of cardboard to make it easy to clean up afterwards. It's like a syrup.
  3. Best to check if the medication you need is available in Thailand. It is illegal to import medicine into Thailand without a license. If you send a small package it can make it thru customs without being checked. Has to be less than 2 kilos and less in value than 1,500 baht. However they are talking about charging VAT on packages less than 1,500 baht. If they do that may mean small packages will not make thru anymore. Even vitamins are considered medicine here. As someone else already mentioned you can easily buy syringes here at most pharmacies.
  4. Well there was a time when a bowl of noodles was 5-10 baht.
  5. Making your own will be much healthier than any canned food.
  6. Construction prices have gone up quite a bit since then.
  7. Did they check to see if he choked on a piece of bubble gum?
  8. I know of at least 3 people who have recently got covid. So it is spreading a lot right now. A friends Thai wife got it after going to a private hospital for a checkup. (they think that is where she may have been exposed but it could have been anywhere) He now has it too. A close friend of ours that owns a restaurant has a nephew that lives with her. Yesterday she told us he has covid. He works in the local Tessaban office and most likely got exposed there. I told her she has probably been exposed to it too then. But she is in denial. Which I guess may mean the wife and I have now been exposed to it also. I guess we will find out in a few days. Over a year ago the wife and I got covid from our niece while taking a vacation in Chiang Mai. It wasn't that bad. Like having a bad cold for a few days.
  9. There are lots of transliterations that have a non existent 'r' in them. 'T' also. Such as Ratchaburi has no 't' in it.
  10. The problem here is you don't know if that photo is of the actual dog. They just do a search for 'dog tied up' or such and post a picture. 'The photo credit says china press.
  11. Give blinders to the tourists on arrival so they don't see all the garbage on the roadsides.
  12. Next month he recovers from dengue...
  13. Perhaps these will help. If airlines choose to adopt them. The double-decker airplane seat is back. Here’s what it looks like now | CNN
  14. At least they didn't arrest him for giving Thailand a bad image.
  15. You can get insurance to just cover accidental injuries. Thai banks have debit cards that provide accident insurance. The cards cost around 1.5K/year. They pay about 20K per incidence. There is an age limit to coverage though, I think 70 for Thais. They also have accident insurance through Chubb which will cover the same things but with higher limits(like around 80K). I think it was around 6K/year when I was doing it for my wife. It is also possible to get policies just for cancer too. Thai insurance companies will want her to go to a hospital and get an examination and blood tests done before issuing the final policy. Their goal is to find as many preexisting conditions as possible. To limit what they cover. Also when you do have a claim they will ask for permission to check your records. Then if the doctor had asked your wife about previous problems and she gave information to the doctor the insurance company will add more exclusions or cancel the policy. They also ask you what medications you are taking and will do exclusions based on that. Like if you take any cholesterol or blood pressure medications they will exclude anything to do with heart attacks and strokes.
  16. Never tried those machines. I don't know about the 'clean' part. I guess it depends on how well they are maintained. Which in general seems to be a problem in Thailand. If there is a sugar free option I might give it a go to see how it tastes. I usually order iced latte with no sugar.
  17. Get a large property and try to keep it weed free.
  18. They must have affected several government computers.
  19. I've got too many pigeons hanging around my house already.
  20. Anyway this seems more like a court matter than a police matter.
  21. Surrounded by feces might explain the foul odor.
  22. American breakfast with hot dogs instread of breakfast sausage.
  23. I retired at 55. Never looked back. Get up what time I want to. Don't have to ask for permission to take trips. Etc...
  24. One thing I noticed helping a friend recently is that they charge a higher fee for transfering in Thai baht. It first came up as a pound to euro transaction with a fee of 4 pounds. When I switched it to Thai baht the fee was a little over 7 pounds.
