That is not true. Often stated here and perhaps more true in certain areas. I was on Koh Chang and a kid on a motorbike coming in the opposite direction lost control on a curve. I saw him losing control and stopped hoping he would not hit me. But he ran right into my truck. There was never anyone saying that I was at fault. We did have to meet at the police station the next day and make statements. My insurance agent was there and met with the other family to discuss them paying for the damages. That was the last I ever heard of it.

What is confusing about the story, as someone else already mentioned, if a mosquito bit him on a ride in a taxi to the airport he would have been out of the country before he turned ill. When you do the 90 day report early occasionally you may end up doing 5 reports in a year. Not a big deal, specially if you do them online. Only takes a minute or two.

I know people say here you can do it online up to the due date. Technically you can but that doesn't mean your immigration will accept/approve it. I once applied online 4 days before the due date. On the due date I received a rejection notice for it. So I went to the office, Ratchaburi, to do it in person and asked why it was rejected. The officer said I didn't give him enough time to process it and it must be done online 15 days before. So maybe some offices will accept it that close to the due date and some will not. I usually do it online 14-13 days before the due date with no problem.
