  1. do you think they intentionally play good cop bad cop just to be *******s . 🙄 i (sometimes) understand why they might not be in a good mood , as being around farangs all day can not be so pleasant haha
  2. Thanks JD for the concise info ........ here in CM , even though i have an online appt., they make you go to a window where a not so nice officer informs you if all the paperwork is in order. Then tells me (last year) that i need the statement even though i try to explain my acct is a one year term acct that has been used year after year. He doesn't care ..lol I bypassed him and went in to speak to an officer, who agreed with me. The next day i went to my appt. and almost had the same problem but then it was resolved. So..... i guess i will get one "just in case" , like you did . No big deal, but after 20 plus years still the stress of dealing with the simple process which is NOT always simple. glad yours went ok ........ rumak
  3. you are lucky . there are lawsuits by the injured https://www.drugwatch.com/cipro-levaquin-avelox/lawsuits/
  4. to be fair ............ I remember the days ( like 30 years ago) that I used to think like the OP . 🙄
  5. me too ! BUT ....... in CM the guy who checks documents was insisting i get that stupid statement . Yep, i roll it over same as you ........
  6. In 20 years never had to get a "statement" ( use cash in bank method , one year term account , retirement) . BUT... last year they almost made me . What EXACTLY does one ask the bank for ( i use Bangkok Bank) ? Is there a form i need to get , or just tell the bank i need a 12 month statement ? ( of course i need the letter for guarantee of funds as well 🙂
  7. oops.... Gotcha Sue
  8. Natural progression : Wide=eyed and looking lost : "hansum man ".. two years later : Looking like you know too much : "kii nio " !
  9. haha i love seeing those women , with a 3rd grade education , leading the pompous westerner, college grad and wealthy............. down the street . like leading the buffalo out to the field 😅
  10. If you are asking that question , and already live here ............... then probably not any advantage for your situation. Many guys on this forum have no interest in speaking Thai. Those that do speak fairly good Thai would (imo) say that it is much more rewarding to them ....... in personal relationships and just ordinary life challenges . note: the best times i had , with non bar girl types, was finding pretty ladies on internet sites that did not speak english .
  11. Ha Ha . Gotta admit, sometimes honesty can be refreshing ( and funny ) the following is not specific to BM2 situation : I won't say how many "live-ins" i've had , but more than a few . More and more I started to "just say no" when i did not like the situation . Meanwhile, others i know still stay with their (once) loved ones, obviously not happy. moral of story: not happy, get out . try again ( or not ) . sometimes we get lucky and find someone who , when you wake up, does not make you unhappy with the world. (i am aware of all the "Buts.........." ) But, up to you !
  12. Legend has it ................ might have been me ! 🙄
  13. you left out "stubborn" and "entitled" . But i do blame myself for telling one or two people how nice it was here , because after that the foreigners just seemed to pour in .
  14. Yep, this is where the "problem" arose with Mr Documents Examiner . When someone (such as I ) has a fixed account , with the required copies of all pages, then it is obvious that there has been no activity just by looking at that ( and seeing that the same acct has Not had activity for years ) . I can see where there would be confusion if it did not cover the entire one year period that was relevant . BUT.... inside they said that form NOT NEEDED by me , with my fixed acct . AND the topper is, when i was finished i asked the person (guy) who had overseen my visit if i could have a copy of that other info/statement form to take with me in case i needed it next year. his answer " mai dtong ow . mai jampen " OMG ......... i smile and walk out , blood pressure up for sure . Cause, i know i will have to get past the D. Examiner again next time . So......... is there such a form ? Or does one just ask the bank for said documentation ? my bank is bangkok bank.... and i will talk to them when i get to the city as well . ps: i bring extra copies of everything as well ! lol
  15. Hi Bob ........ are you still doing the retirement ( or marriage) extension by yourself ? Just curious, as i have always ( 20 years) done so . But....... getting tired of it . Big hassle last year when guy "checking my documents" tried to send me away , saying i needed more info from bank ( BESIDES my usual letter from bkk bank stating my amount on deposit in FIXED acct . that i have used FOREVER without an issue ) And.....not being able to convince him it is not required I had to go inside and get confirmation from an officer there . BUT, after getting called for my appt. still had an issue with one of the workers , until another stepped in and said i was right . never look forward to that yearly escapade !
  16. That just might be her Campaign Slogan ! ( presently being considered by the men in the dark room )😎
  17. also...... A Big Va............. .
  18. yep..... ours is firm, but does vary 🙂 btw: the same grains used for milk can be used with the coconut milk . i know there is lots of fresh coconut where you live . We thought of trying fresh coconut milk but didn't ( the thai kefir maker here in Cm , who we bought our grains from, highly suggested using the ones i show ) Once we tried a box substitute and did not do well . the markets have fresh coc milk .... but we have not tried that. also: our egg farm we looked by googling "organic egg farm in CM" .. ( wife did in thai) .... 3 came up and one was like 3 km from our house. Eggs are really good
  19. i would never discriminate like that . i pretty much don't like ANYBODY . but............ serously ............. life is constantly changing . sometimes too fast and sometimes not fast enough . ( that is an original quote which i have now given ms. harris the permission to use )
  20. i do believe that "on here" is the highlight of some posters day . I will not include my list of those resembling my comment 😅 .
  21. Over 70 is when my muscles started to atrophy . Trying to keep up is a balance between how much to push the old body without straining it (and then being laid up for a while ). I have just started with some PEA protein isolate (matell brand) that BigStar suggested. Only reasonable price powder, 2 lb bag from Lazada . One good thing about where i live outside of CM is there is a range fed chicken (eggs) farm 5 minutes away. Still warm when i go to buy . (tray of 30 for 180 baht) . If there is a place like that near you it (imo) would definitely be worth getting really good eggs. Also, Rimping has large selection of meats that are hormone free ( so they say) . I pay more but quality is very good. Betagro seems to also have good quality/ no hormones . And...... sweet potatoes are pretty healthy , and "sweet" . If you make kefir ....... Makro here has coconut milk which is really good for making kefir . If done right is becomes almost yoghurt like after a day in fridge . This brand is specifically recommended (by a shop doing kefir) as the best . Maybe your makro has it as well .
