Have to agree.  I've never seen a farang with an attractive "upscale" or "hi so" Thai woman.  Said couples may be out there, but they sure hide themselves pretty well.

pretty sure when it comes down to it. if a thai bird has her own money she dosent need a foreigner for support. saying this seems to upset alot of guys who think we are desirable to thai woman. from what i have seen however we only seem to be desired by the ones who dont have much cash.

  2. 10 years working and living in thailand and i dont know any westerner who has bagged a high end thai bird. it probably happens, but i havent seen it.  come to think of it i dont know any western/thai relationships that have lasted past 10 years but i am sure some have. hard road staying with someone from a different culture. i am 5 years with my bird and so far so good but we have 2 kids. hope we last the distance till both of them are through school.

  3. a marriage visa is far cheaper and easier to get that trying to get a work permit and associated visa to stay. they marriage visa is generally easier to get in your own country as well. i get my family visa or O visa each year in nz and it is very simple and inexpensive. for the last 8 years i have had a work permit and B visa, it was just getting harder and harder to maintain every year.

Guess we not really "hansum man" after all :(

i have heard from a few girls that thai men are for love and western men are for money. in my friends bar i asked where the girls sleep when they dont have a customer. she showed me a single small room upstairs. i said 8 girls sleep in this one small room? her reply was that generally no one sleeps there as when they dont have a customer or boyfriend in town they go stay with their thai boyfriends. i told one of my western employees this and he refused to believe it saying 'no they dont like thai men' think some people refuse to believe the truth.

  5. there are a few of these places around, normally with blacked out windows and painted pink. there was one near the triangle bar in pattaya and another in the rompho beer bars. they normally cater to bar girls after they finish work. it is hard to believe it but bar girls actually go there to buy the guys drinks and so on. these are the same bar girls who tell every foreign man they meet that they dont like thai men. never heard of high-so woman frequenting these type of places but i suppose it is possible.

You really should stop saying that in public, you make it sound as though you think,  nobody in the world knows any more than anyone else on any economic or financial issue and that is of course nonsense.

actually he is right. if i say there is a 50% chance of rain then no one can say i was wrong weather it rains or not.

Christian do-gooder: Hi, I'm here to rescue you from those horrible Australians. How old are you

Bargirl: I'm ok thanks, I choose to work here. I'm 30 years old.

Christian do-gooder: But I can help you get a job in a factory earning 10,000 baht a month.

Bargirl: No thanks, I make that much in a week. I quit my factory job to come here.

Christian do-gooder: But I can take you away from all this.

Bargirl: I like it here, I get to party with my friends, play dress ups every night, I have a car and an iphone and send lots of money home. I get commission on lady drinks, tips, sometimes I go home with someone if I choose to.

Christian doogooder: Have you heard the word of God.

    Bargirl: I'm Buddist

we have some stupid christian organisation in new zealand who raised money to come over to save some pattaya bargirls. they put a car outside a bar in town. went in and tried to get bar girls to leave with them. i watched a documentary about it when i was back in nz 2 years ago. end result was not one bar girl saved. it even stated at the end of the show that the bar girls did not seem to want to be saved. many foreigners really have no idea of how things run in thailand. would be good to see a real documentary showing real interviews of girls working in the sex industry. unlikely to happen i suppose.

  8. well i believe she is guilty based on what i have seen and i have been here longer than the rice scheme has been running. the scheme was just a bad idea that was poorly managed and left to run for far too long.  if found guilty it would be good to see her detained until the money was returned. wonder if everything will be concluded before the next elections. my prediction is the reds will win the next election and she will be pardoned. process will then start again. hope i am wrong.

  9. hi,

i have been living in pattaya with my 2 young kids up until recently. my eldest was going to this school in jomtien

    http://www.phoenix.ac.th/

i would reccomend it very highly.

i was living on jomtien which is very good. the other option is to live out near matchupan lake if you want something more rural. you will get something better for your money out there but it is a bit of a hassle getting in and out from town.

i would strongly recommend you stay in a good gated housing development. it is a great buyers market and i would do a rent to own in any house to live there for 6 months before i would buy. where ever you end up make sure you have access to a swimming pool. i would not take my kids swimming on pattaya or jomtien beaches any more.

  10. yea 90% does not seem right. from what i have seen it is far more than 90%. sorry but this is just based on casual observation over the last 10 years, no stats to quote.

i used to tell everyone not to open a business in thailand (no one listens to me as i have a business in thailand) now i tell everyone that it is fine to have a business in thailand if the money they invested can be lost without concern. still no one listens anyway.
