  1. You can only use an agent in pp, loads to choose from, if it's your first SETV you probably won't need flights or income evidence of you do the agent can help.
When in did mine last year, before the agent took my money he called his fixer gave some details and said no need for inbound flight or income I think it was $50 total and 3 days.

  2. Yeah the agent will do it all give to then collect after 4 to 5 days. I personally haven't used a agent in kampot, but last year I hired a motorbike from a back street geezer in Sihanoukville who held my passport for insurance - gulp! He phone his friend and did it all for me, no issues everything went smoothly.
The agents will probably use the same local fixer and add $5 for their cut. Worth it for the hassle saved.

  3. The Thai visa will be free.

The cost of the Myanmar visa depends on how you do it. Cheapest is to apply at the Embassy in Bangkok, with three-day service costing 810 baht. Online application for an e-visa costs about double this.

For a tourist visa, the Thai consulate in Yangon will want to see flights into and out of Thailand. Otherwise, it is a good place to apply. It is the regular apply in the morning, receive the passport back with visa afternoon of the following day. When I was there, the queues were short.

In general, Yangon is much improved as a place for tourists compared to a few years ago. Hotel options are better (but do not get too excited, still not as good as Thailand) and there are many more food options. The old hassle with currency forms and foreign exchange certificates is now a fast receding dream.

    My last visit report.

  4. Article is in French

    https://www.thailande-fr.com/actu/52228-lempreinte-digitale-sera-obligatoire-acheter-carte-sim-2017

Google translate of the first bit.

All mobile operators in Thailand will have to introduce a fingerprint identification system for all new prepaid and postpaid SIM cards, with a provisional deadline set for next February.

As of February 2017, you will probably have to scan your fingerprints to buy a prepaid or postpaid SIM card in Thailand.

  5. That photo appears to be in Don Kaew, Amphur Mae Rim. But if you followed that road (marked 3029 on the map), all the way down past NIS, B2, etc. and approached the 1001 (C.M. - Mae Jo Road), you would cross that intersection and turn left on the first soi past Tesco Lotus. Not the soi into a krogan baan, but into a village, stay to the left, then go down, past Eat on Earth and look for the Sausage King signs. The farm is on the right. I followed that map in "street view", but it is dated 2011 and nothing looks the same around there anymore. A screen capture would be useless.

I don't know that area much at all but I might give it a go.

  6. No I can't but my directions above are 100% accurate. Couldn't be easier.

That's predicated on knowing where those places are. A google map would be easier. [emoji39]

  7. I am not a coffee nerd or such like...., but I was recommended to go to Ma Chill. Yesterday we went there and supped what I have to say was an exceptional coffee. The quiet and unassuming young couple there really seem to know their beans..., it seemed to me.
So now I say..., do yourselves a favor..., try the coffee at Ma Chill, it's on Sridonchi Rd. not far down(150 mtrs), on the left from S/E corner of the moat/wall. It's a very quiet place...., and I'll say right now that it was the best I've supped in CM and maybe even anywhere..., yes, that's big call.
Please seek them out and get back to me..., I would be interested to hear other peoples views ?

Yes nice place but I didn't care for their hot black americano

  8. After searching for the best hot Americano in town for months  I ended up with this place , and believe it or not it's only 25 baht .

Nice, friendly staff knows how to prepare it , you can't go wrong here and money saved as well . The place is called Hom coffee , it's around 500 meters up from Thapae gate , same side as Black Canyon and Burger King.

I don't know why they are selling it so cheap but I'm not complaining.

If I  want to rate this coffee , I would give it 9 out of 10, same as I would do with the more upscale place in Nimman area called Ristr8to where you pay 90 baht. They are equally good. Go check them out if you're in the area.

This place will probably be a bit out of the way for you but the next time you're out driving (north) then be sure to stop at Pankled Coffee. Take route 107 north to route 1095 (road to Pai). Turn left on 1095 and continue for about 20 km, more or less, and you will see Pankled Coffee on the left. Relaxing place with decent food as well as coffee.

What I see is sweet girls drinking sweet ice coffee and eating sweet desserts, doesn't say much about their coffee but I guess there's only one way to find out....

I'd second hom coffee, not many seats outside on the main stretch for a bit of exhaust fumes.

  9. Actually hundreds of guys have been doing dropshipping in Chiang Mai, for years now, they have their own social media discussion groups, online courses etc. Not my cup of tea but maybe worth looking into.

Also look into pyramid sales while your at it.
Drop shipping is a bit saturated, so they on-sell the techniques in a pyramid fashion.
If you can spot a niche market / product and can produce your own online marketing, website, shipping etc great you could be a millionaire! Thai baht.

Another online route is affiliate marketing there's even a online market in pre-built websites that are a shop front for the likes of Amazon delivery. Buy the website, user your brilliant website skills to fancy it up fix the problems, increase sales, pocket the hard earn cash, sell the site - repeat.
And or use the time you have to learn web skills if you don't have them

  11. Lanna Rama 9 park just before Lanna golf course has paved track, quite large and they have just installed brand new exercise equipment, lots of stations towards the bsck of the park.
I was there today and most still had their plastic wrapping on them. So I expect in full use by next week.
Really quiet in the mornings, but no lights for evening work outs. Maybe they will be fitted later.
There's a swimming pool next door in the golf club complex.
