Prostate surgery user reviews .... turp? rezum? other ?
Presnock replied to rumak's topic in Health and Medicine
My father had prostrate cancer and went for a 'trim" and radiation. Afterwards he told me if it came back then he would die as the treatment was worse than the disease. dR. William Li a reknown Harvard heart specialist and researcher in 2023 wrote two books on preventing disease and treating disease with natural foods which have much fewer side effects. For any prostate problems. in the lab, they found that soy contains high bioactives known as isoflavins and a dietary supplement called genistein concentrated polysaccharide (GCP) could also directly kill prostate cancer. As for tomatoes, lycopene in an experiment at Harvard examined 46,719 men found that consuming two to three cups of tomato sauce saw a 30% decreased risk og prostate cancer. I read recently (forgot where but think it was lifeline newsletter - anyway BPH sufferer was advised to eat 3 tablespoons of tomato paste for 10 weeks to shrink his protate and also lowered his PSA levels. Just saying, as I am 78, eat a lot of tomatos plus tomato paste dail plus pomegranate juice/seeds regularly and although my male familiy members have all had enlarged prostate problems, I have avoided them and hope that continues. I drink a half glass of water just before sleep, sleep 7-8 hours and never wake up having to go to the bathroom during the night. I do wish you luck with whatever you try to do. And just this week in a weekly health letter it mentioned that a "healthy" diet with lots of fruits and veggies helped alleviate some prostate problems. Sorry I can't be more specific on where I read those articles but If I see any more I will pass them on. -
I responded there already and just responding to the bashing here too.

Basically the same cause too and useless politicians! IMHO as an American
-
Well, I have lived in Spain, Italy, Malta, Geneva in Europe and many countries in Asia, a couple i Africa and while I enjoyed all of them, each has their own problems. As an American I still love the USA and the freedoms it stands for and guarantees for other countries too. I don't go around and complain about foreigners and really fail to understand why they bash Americans unless it is jealousy or envy. There is no so-called "garden of Eden" or perfection anywhere. Get over it and yourself if you can't understand that please.

Yeah, I have learned afer living in many countries around the world, folks outside the big cities of that country are much nicer than those in the big cities, no matter the country in my experience.

Many moons ago I spent a couple of years in Madrid. When we would go out tapa hunting in the evenings, we each would put in a couple of dollars (in peseta exchange rate today is almost the same) and we would spend 6 hours going from tapa bar to one speciallizing in a different tapa. We got a small glass of table wine each place too. We thought that it was extremely cheap comared to most places we had ever gone. Great foods too! But to me the people of Spain were much nicer than the people of Madrid. Loved being able to go play in the mountain snow one day and the next drive down to the sunny beaches!

Thai Tax Strategy Revamp: VAT Hike, Income Tax Cuts Proposed
Presnock replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This change in personal income tax is to attract WORKERS to earn a salary here. Under the LTR wealthy workers already have that lower income tax (they get a work permit through the BOI too. AND, remember they have been talking about different tax scheme for many months now and this is just another one to throw into the mixture. This didn't seem to say anything about remitted funds or worldwide income taxation. -
Yessir one can trace the decline of the US society by looking at the spread of social media and the crap on almost all of those shows whether organized or just for solo expression. I am OLD! and have watched this decline which seemed to begin in late VN war era and has been moving seemingly on a DOWNHILL getting steeper and faster all the time. Now, my friends and family in the US all complain about EVERYTHING on a daily basis. I am glad I remain in Paradise! and can basically ignore 99% of the crap. Happy December to all!

Thailand aims to become education hub with global universities
Presnock replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
AGREE!!!!100%, my reaction too! -
double the cost of the visa using an agent! seems excessive to me as I have been here over 20 years and never needed an agent for anything. JUst saying, LTR is great congratulations! Nice to do everything from within one's own home on one's computer/printer without needing anything from a different business. Hope for all that the tax scheme doesn't affect one.

Grounded: Thai AirAsia denies ticket fraud, blames airline app
Presnock replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I think it was last year or the year before, that airline was reportedly hit the ransomeware hackers who threatened according to the news to release personal information on some 5 million customers unless ransome was paid which the owner reportedly refused. Within two months of that activity, my credit card which I had never had any problems for years was fraudently tried to make charges which my bank contacted me immediately to verify those charges which were false so I had to destroy that cc and wait for a replacement. I really have no idea if any of the above is connected to that fraud but when using cc one must be aware of all the scams going on, and hope one's bank is alert to any possible missue of one's account. Just saying. -
I am not conerned with Bangkok Bank or Thailand reporting my financial activity - have heard on several webinars on CRS about the ATM and cc Use being available to the Revenue Dept. That is no concern of mine as I repiort va FBAR everything that I remit to Thailand. My concern was for those that claim that they will only bring in cash or use ATM and cc for spending here to avoid being taxed by the Thai revenue dept so I have been looking at FATCA and I really don't believe that the US govt will send to the Thais, any of those accounts, only the beginning and ending account amount for the calendar year. If anyone has read what data will be sent to the Thai revenue dept then I would appreciate them informing me. In addition, in a Previously mention and linked article, it said that eventually every adult tax resident would be required to geta a TIN, Maybe or maybe not. But again, we are just spinning wheels for no reason yet. I do wish all a happy tax season and form filing if required. They also mention that if one doesn't fill out the CRS/Fatca forms then the bank could lock out the account or close it. Under the Fatca articles is menions that in many coundtrie Americans are being refused accounts or having accounts closed but the US officials said they didn't care about that. good luck to all
-
In my opinion no way would I even consider this. The way they talk, seems they are really concious of what would happen if they did that in the US taxes but guess they think that the Thais will not be as diligent in checking or if they will even audit people at all. Me, I error on the side of caution when reporting jus tlike the FBAR, even though I am below the amounts, I still send it in just to be on the safe side. Good luck .
-
That was why I thought it strange that with the CRS the agent did mention that they would be available but with US FATCA, I have always heard that they will only send account numbers and total at beginning of year and end of year total and that accounts are security blocked for anthing other than the totals. We'll see soon I gues.

I have listened to several webinars on the Thai taxes of income and on CRS I have heard the speakers saying that ATM and Credit Card activity will be available and on this forum I have heard several people claim that they will avoid having to pay Thai taxes by not sending money to a bank here, but will use ATM and Credit Cards to live here. I can understand that Credit Cards are like a loan so I am unsure about that as a reportable income but ATM's I don't transfer any from an account outside of Thailand into Thailand. I have queried an agent as I continue scrolling through the FATCA and CRS sites to see what data will be "shared" between at least from the US sent to the Thai Revenue Dept. Has anyone actually found factual information on the data coming back to Thailand about our finances. I am not really concerned with this myself as my only income is protected by the DTA and to date, remitted foreign income is exemted under the LTR, I am concerned with my friends who query me or mention how they will avoid paying Thai taxes. If I find any further info on this subject I will pass it on.

I sure don't have any idea, but have heard several senior lawyers saying that the arguments were still going on a month ago. Too many fat cats are also being caught up, possibly one of the main targets but rest assured, they know that they have control of the expats so I ass u me that we might be targetted too.,..,especially since I heard that LTR processing was backlogged big time as many folks are joining, hoping like us, that all foreign income is exempt from Thai taxes. ...
-
UNTIL the law eventually finds itself in the GAZETTE, BOI will not know enough about the royal decree to "GUESS" how it might be interpreted this is not a Thai issue but common sense with any new laws. I don't understand how people can blame the BOI for not being able to see the future and the LTR benefits at THAT time.

well I have lived in many countries of the world and actually in my experience (possibly only me) but 5 countries in Europe, 9 Asian countries, 2 African countries, 1 central American country - and I spoke the languages well enough to mingle and chat with locals throughout the period of my stays (anywhere from 3 mos to 12 years) and every place, those locals actually told me that they envied the freedoms of the US of A and for the most part, the citizens too. I listen to the expats here, also expats in Europe and the PI and many are exactly like some of those on this forum. I am not proud of a lot of the changes in America today. To me, the problems began with Vietnam and the media constantly bombarding the public with war pictures so that many became anti government but the real problem just spread IMHO with the younger generations, as many believed what they were being told about the world yet none of those younger folks cared much about that as they were hung up on "social media" and the wokeness being spread by the extemely polarized talk show folks tryiing to outdo each other. Now, the country is literally flooded with illegal immigrants - many probably great people but some really bad ones too. Illegal drugs plus even the legal being passed out by pharmas, spreads yearly and the govt can't seem to get a handle on that - probably because some get so rich off of the use of these drugs. Elected seats are filled by those that the rich and powerful IMHO because those powerful people want to reap even greater profits every year. If one doubts it just google "new billionaires during the COVID pandemic" and that will maybe change some mindsets. But, believe me, most Americans really do appreciate the freedoms guaranteed by our US Constitution now well over 200 years old, with a few amendments along the way insuring all are treated equally. Almost all of us today have ancestors from your same countries. We appreciate those too and in many areas holidays and traditions are celebrated the same as I guess you do in your country. On this forum, there are some really nice people who provide anyone and everyone with what might be helpful information and still others want to critize us for providing that information. Some that used to provide help now are silenced by those critical comments. All of this above is based on my living expriences for 78 years. I have had friends from just about all of the countries in which I lived and worked. I never critized any of their countries' citizens. Until you live in the world of other people just remember that they are checking you out too and might think that all your fellow farangs are just like you or that you are just like those bad farangs being arrested for various reasons. Just saying, and not criticizing anyone in particular and these are my honest opinions. Good luck to all!

I had my regular breadfast after fasting for 19 hours - base of "soaked (24 hours in almond milk and 2 tbspn of apple cider vinegar" oatmeal, blueberries, strawberries, mango, guava, papaya, tomato paste, flax seed meal, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, turmeric, black pepper, chili sauce, pumpkin seeds, walunts, almonds, fortified almond milke, probotic yogurt, one square of 75% dark chocolate, coffee, green tea, 1 kiwi and a banana. yes, I am full and as always wait 4 hours and eat a healthy lunch. Using this regime, since March, I have lost 3 inches off my waist and 8 pounds of useless weight ... I am 5 foot 8 and 1/2 inch and weight is 65 kilos. Plenty of energy all the time and feeling really great, possibly because I live in Paradise still.

without a doubt, YES!!! I just had my 78th trip around the sun. I spent more than 3 years in a war zone getting shot at, rocketed, chased by bad guy planes, etc, lived and worked around the world, even being shot in that career with co-workers killed when I should have been with them but opted to play golf, had a really successful career enabling me to retire with a comfortable pension which if I am married when I die, my wife will continue to receive a healthy pension throughout her life too, blessed with two wives (1st died of cancer), had 2 wonderful and brilliant daughters, one with each wife, retired in Thailand 20+ years ago and still loving it as a paradise compared to the countries I worked, including Europe, Asia, Central America and Africa. I never was assigned at any place that had a "real" winter and I know I hate COLD weather and especially SNOW. I eat healthy IAW the "food" books by Dr. William Li, lift weights several times a week, on days I don't lift weights, I do an hour of core exercises, and every day instead of the daily 5-10 mile run each day that I did until 65, I now do at least 6 kms every evening. My BP remains in the healthy 30-year old, I have not even had a headache in over 25 years. In my entire life, I have never had to be treated that would have required me to file for my insurance coverage. To me life is great still at 78 for sure, not aches or pains upon getting out of bed each morning. hope the best for all!

why don't folks understand as head of the intelligence, she will have access to assets - thus could be a threat to one's freedom or life depending on where that asset is. In her current clearance, she only needs to read certtain info as in need to know and in many cases probably has no access to 5 eye material. Just saying as it seems obvious many users here don't understand security clearances at all.

yes just stated by thesetat2013, my experience exactly, just write my name in English characters and Thai.

The US embassy usually has a list of recognized (by the embasy anyway) translation people. Authenicating the passport is really strange as that is an "official" US govt document so just the official translation should be okay. I haven't heard of the embassy authenicating a passport, though I have heard of have it "approved" by the Thai foreign ministry though others here might have a different story. I did a consular US birth certificate for my daughter and used the Thai official birth certificate and don't recall having to translate US passport nor embassy certification of same. Good luck anyway and congratulations!

this is because of a narcisitist's ears only hearing what he believes not what is actually meant by the speaker IMHO and Trump of course being the world's best at negotiations, (if you doubt that, then look at Afghanistan and Taliban). I fail to understand why the US hasn't closed the border entirely except for where it i possible to regulate exit/entrance with Mexico and Canada. Hell even the Atlantic Ocean hasn't been able to stop the Haitians and Cubans. I am anti democratic and anti ILLEGAL immigration and I continue to be amazed at how my government seems so helpless so often.
