Chiang Mai losing its appeal—how to manage? [long post/discussion]
bkk6060 replied to ThLT's topic in Chiang Mai
Sorry to disagree but I do not see it. I come in on the 107 it is like playing dodge ball with cars backed up, cutting in and out and stopping everywhere. The least of the drivers concern seem to be m/b. The malls are packed now and center city is a good place to avoid backs ups all around. Then the police stops during peak traffic time. Outside of Bangkok, this may currently be the most congested dangerous place I have ever ridden a mototbike. -
Chiang Mai losing its appeal—how to manage? [long post/discussion]
bkk6060 replied to ThLT's topic in Chiang Mai
Yes, I am here now and see it all. And, they love it so much when they come it will be almost unliveable just hordes of people and traffic everywhere. WIth the demand prices will also rise I bet much more then people expect. Getting around or even into the city will become a major ordeal none of it good for residents here. Just about everyone wanted things to be open, so here we go. -
The odds say they will bring it in and their entry will cause the death of some Thais. But, the money will be good.

Massive road checkpoint mobilisation over 7 days of New Year celebrations
bkk6060 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yeah, it is because the cops have little influence over the problem. The problem is the culture, lack of education/training and poor engineering of the roadways. But, a person needs to actually drive here to witness the issues, which are way beyond a cop writing a ticket. -
Many want to escape China purgatory. Thailand is their number one destination. They will come soon by the millions a share of them sick and infected. Should be interesting over the next several months to see what happens.

No more double pricing? -
In 1962 they were warning about nuclear war. Climate issues have been in the news for over 40 years. Nothing will change much in 2023, but expect prices on just about everything to increase.

Visa agent not responding to calls
bkk6060 replied to Guderian's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have used in agent in Pattaya and always gotten my passport back with stamp the next day. One reason you are paying is for the quicker service. I guess you could go into the immigration office and calmly explain the situation just be careful about what you say. If you get angry and yell out about how much you paid and where is my passport, could create and issue. -
5 Causes of New or Increasing Negativity in Older Adults

From my observation mostly fat, low life success, low money, bad relationships, substance abouse issues. I understand some complaining but the constant 90% of some peoples words negative and complaining mostly about things they cannot change is exhausting to be around. I try to avoid these people just can suck the life out of you. -
I have taken it and am surprised it is sold over the counter and has been for many years. Tramadol has been a big player in the U.S opioid crisis which has resulted in overdose deaths. I feel it can be addicting even at low doses. And, don't mix it with alcohol unless you want a major headache and a small chance at having a seizure. Also, it does not help with sleep it actually can cause muscle twitching and insomnia. It can relieve some pain, but it seems the risks and side effects may not be worth it.

To each their own I found it to be loud, crowded and claustrophobic.

Maybe you are getting mispriced. I buy mine at local markets always cheaper then Macro or Big C. Especially fruits.

Passport went through the washing machine
bkk6060 replied to Longbow212's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Try applying for an emergency. Probably the most important document in a person's life it amazes me how people lose track. The embassies are full of people everyday who "lost" their passport. Seems kind of flaky to me. -
Bangkok world’s #1 trending destination in 2022 – Airbnb
bkk6060 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
From my observations the airports over the past few months are packed and traffic is even worse then before. Chiang Mai traffic is horrific now as is Pattaya, Bangkok and other tourist spots. Anyone who cannot see the people flooding into this place are myopic, or haters who probably are not even here. Thailand is jam packed with many more on their way.- 39 replies

What Thailand YouTubers Are You Watching (2023)
bkk6060 replied to NotReallyHere's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
After watching several I get the impression they need the money. And, most I bet are illegal making money off of Thailand, the Thai people and especially females. Do they have work permits? They should as they are making money here off this country not paying taxes. One Black man comes to mind sexual inuendos to get views and exploiting a Thai female. DIsgusting in my opinion he seems to think it is all funny. Then there are those that flat out lie and some are criminals. One who returned here recently on his first day back was beat up, arrested and jailed in Pattaya this all according to him. Makes me wonder how many actually have crinimal records maybe serious crimes. Also, I question the overall integrity of You Tube. Do folks know these vloggers can buy views, Subs, etc? They can build their channels by buying them in bulk all seems underhanded but You Tube does nothing. Anyway, I wll be watching none at this point most are repetitive how many "how much does it cost", "Santuary of Truth", and "I am walking down Soi Buakhao" videos can one tolerate?
