Supreme Court rules that camping ban is constitutional.
Hanaguma replied to Cryingdick's topic in Political Soapbox
I have been watching a YouTube channel by a guy called Cash Jordan, who is from New York City. He is a real estate guy, but his videos are all about the decay and decline of NYC. Very watchable and he makes a lot of sense. One thing I did notice in his videos is that you see very few people wearing suits or even ties in NYC these days (business people). Almost everyone is in a hoodie or looking borderline disreputable. I think the commercial heart of the city is being strangled. -
Should Biden do another LBJ? When? (Not If)
Hanaguma replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in Political Soapbox
The Democrats are realizing that getting Joe out of the way is harder than just wishing. First, they ran an uncontested primary, so at their national convention there is no debate. It is a coronation. The only way is IF Joe himself volunteers to step aside. And good luck with that. He has his pride, his wife is propping him up. Second problem comes with who replaces him. It would be virtually impossible to push Harris aside for a number of reasons. First, like it or not she IS the VP. Her job is to be ready to take over the top job. It is a bad look for the Democratic establishment to suddenly admit that she was actually totally unqualified all along. Second, she has a magic Melanin Forcefield, backed up with the Double X Chromosone Power Pack. God forbid she is replaced by a White Man. There would be a revolution in the left flank of the party. So you have to get HER to agree to voluntarily step aside too. What are the odds of that? -
New Times/Siena College Poll - Trump 4 Point Lead Before Debate

Well, Van does have the advantage of the Melanin Forcefield, which shields him from most criticism. Plus a lifetime of being on the left of most issues. -
Then how do you explain The Donald's growing support in those communities? It's almost as if he were treating them as (gasp) Americans who want what is best for their country, not as an easily led flock of sheep like the Democrats do. They want to live in safe communities with good schools and low crime. Just like everyone else. The Democrats are so condescending, they assume that Latinos will support illegal immigration because many of the illegals happen to be the same ethnicity. Not true. Latest polling shows majority support among Hispanics for mass deportation of illegals. So Biden can take his pathetic pandering and leave.

Possibly the worst part for Biden was either forgetting or refusing to acknowledge the deaths of Americans serving in the military during his presidency. To forget them, to fail to honour their sacrifice, in order to try and score a cheap political point in a debate, is utterly depraved. The families of those dead soldiers and marines must be livid. All Joe can talk about is his own son's tragic and premature death. The rest? They don't exist as far as Biden is concerned.

One thing you are not hearing is that, 10 minutes before the debate started, Trump was on the phone with the mother of the 12 year old girl (Jocelyn Nungaray) who was raped and murdered by 2 illegal immigrants in Texas. Allegedly. Offered his condolences and sympathy to a grieving family. Has the President called and talked to any of the victims of his failed policy? Sh!t, he can't even say their names properly when they are written on a teleprompter.

Trump is a classic BS artist. He revels in using superlatives- everything is the best, worst, biggest, etc. But it's not really lying if he believes it. Plus he was remarkably restrained, perhaps the format did that to him, perhaps he finally took some good advice from his team and decided to STFU when his opponent was making a mistake. No need to bluster or interrupt in that case. Like it or not, he hit the hot button topics that Americans care about- immigration, inflation, housing. And Biden was, well, quite sad really.

That is the problem with old people who are fading. They CAN have good, even very good days. But those days are unpredictable and often repetitive. And flanked by terrible and horrible days. Biden did well with his teleprompter and giving a 5 minute address to an adoring crowd. The debate, remember the format and moderators were ALL chosen by the Democrats, highlighted his weaknesses in terms of mental agility and concentration. And those skills never get better, only worses.

LIVE: Donald Trump arrives for presidential debate in Atlanta
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Everyone knows that Biden was hiding for more than a week to prepare. Just look at his official schedule- he went from a weekend at his beach house 10 days ago straight to Camp David and has been surrounded by handlers getting him ready. Everyone in the media acknowledges this. Frankly, he would be foolish NOT to prepare. -
New Times/Siena College Poll - Trump 4 Point Lead Before Debate

Van is one of those guys that I disagree with on almost everything, but would love to go out for a few drinks with. He comes across as sincere and intelligent. Not a 100% partisan hack stuck on his talking points. It is gonna be a looong weekend for the upper caste of the Democratic Party. -
One of the saddest parts was that Joe couldn't speak for 2 minutes without going off topic. He was answering a question on abortion, which should be perhaps his strongest issue. Suddenly he was talking about immigration! Started saying girls were getting raped by their in-laws, their brothers and sisters..... WTF? Incoherent.

Very true. 20th century Biden came across as loquacious and almost endearing. He had an easy smile and could be charming at times. He seemed to enjoy talking and also listening to people. Also no mention of the fabled 'Biden stutter', nor did it ever show up in any of his appearances. Now what we see is a husk of that man. All that is left is anger, outrage, and pride.
-
What needs to happen now is that all those people who claim that Biden is doing cartwheels in private, solving trigonometry problems, and spontaneously giving policy positions.... those people need to admit that they were lying. It is obvious that Biden is, and had been, in decline for years. There has been NO "behind the scenes " Biden who performs so wonderfully.

It will never happen. Worst case scenario, the judge orders a prison term for Trump. It is instantly appeales by his lawyers. Trump is kept at the court while a judge on the NY equivalent of the state supreme court (already on call) accepts the appeal by phone. Trump walks out with the sentence stayed pending the appeal.
-
The worst thing that could happen to Trump now is if the Democratic party illuminati decide that Joe needs to go, and they push someone else in his place.
-
That's not their job. They need to stay out of the way, and let the two men have at each other. Basically be referees, not judges. To be honest, I think they did a good job. Held Trump's feet to the fire a few times when he didn't answer, which was fair.

Gotta say that I was impressed by Trump's discipline and self control. The format maybe helped him in that. But he was able to talk about what he wanted and get in some good shots at Biden.
