  1. A failed UKIP politician? No thanks.
  2. Prostitution isn't illegal on paper. Many aspects of it are, but paying for sex is not against the law in Thailand. Imagine if it was!! The medical aspect of the new restrictions on selling/buying cannabis suggest there will still be plenty of loopholes. I do, howeevr, feel sorry for those who have invested in a business selling it which may now be closed down.
  3. The families of the victims are outraged at any idea of a plea deal. Hopefully, they will have some influence on the lawyers.
  4. Not an unusual situation in Thailand. Unless you decide to make your relationship with the daughter more permanent, rather than just dating, I'd stay well out of it.
  5. Like you, I am disappointed about much of Starmer's first year, but unlike you I'd quite like to see Rayner taking over. However, I don't think it will happen, unless the polls are still bad in 2027/2028.
  6. You must have missed the final paragraph of the source article.
  7. I was joking. 🙄 You keep bringing his views up as if they're of some importance!
  8. As I understand it, the police are investigating. I'm sure they will be taking the Shadow Home Secretary's views into account, as well as every other politician, including the Prime Minister, who has commented.
  9. The only part I disagree with is the reference to a "two-tier justice" system. Each case should be treated on its merits. I will have no objection if action is taken against the idiot pop star by the police/CPS, but the case is entirely different to Ms Connolly's.
  10. Indeed. They had already refused to broadcast the Kneecap set. Mind you, they have been criticised about that too on 'Freedom of Speech' grounds. The BBC can't win.
  11. No. But the Shadow Home Secretary is (shamefully) playing politics. Please read the link I have now posted twice, that clearly shows why Connolly rightfully received the sentence she did.
  12. That's not what Ms Connolly was charged with. I posted the link earlier, but here it is again. https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/R-v-Lucy-Connolly.pdf
  13. No, but by using the present perfect tense you suggested that it wasn't scummy before.
  14. "Told" by who? How can anyone compare the two cases? Lucy Connolly's incitement could have led to people being burnt alive and was one part of fomenting horrific race riots and thuggish behaviour. Bob Vylan is just an idiot pop star. I don't think any IDF soldier was in danger!
  15. And British thugs always fight by the Queensberry rules! 🤣
  16. Not remotely comparable! https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/R-v-Lucy-Connolly.pdf
  17. Wow. A fight in Pattaya. Anyone would think it's a UK city centre on a Saturday night!
  18. A new PM is appointed. The Tories were great at this!
  19. I thought the BBC were in trouble for caving in to the government and censoring Kneecap's set. Free speech?
  20. Plenty of time for Reform to implode, which they surely will!
